When the clans of Zerdargia revamped their trade associations, after much discussion and negotiation, it was decided that they would open a new bank, one which matched the needs of the rebuilt Zerdargia and its citizens. Originally underwritten by the four clans, it is now open for business to all visitors and citizens. The bank is run by a Board of Directors drawn from the four clans.
Upon approaching the bank, you see the polished mahoghany obsidian rock facade is trimed in turquoise blue stone. The very large wooden door is arched and extremely tall for a 4 foot dwarf, but it was deliberately designed that way to reflect the openess and grandeur of the new picture perfect Zerdargia.
Inside there are polished garnet colored columns of Mahoghany obsidien. The floor is polished brown granite which compliments the dark mahoghany wood cages. There are two dwarfs behind the cages, who will take care of your needs. The manager, Otis Burk, is back in his spacious office from early morning to just before dusk. His brother, Jakson Burk, is the Loans Officer, while many of the other employees are from all four clans. Myra Goldbrick is the head cashier, while her friend, Nora Derisson is the bookkeeper.

Otis Goldbrick. the manager of the United Clan Bank, is 4'8" tall with a gray beard, neatly trimmed. He usually wears a dark brown two-piece suit. He was chosen as Manager by the Board of Directors of the Bank, heads of the four major clans. He will always have a pencil behind his gray sideburns, to make any notations on transactions of the bank.
Jakson Burk, the Loans Officer of the United Clan Bank, is many years younger than his boss, with salt and pepper hair and beard. His primary job is to take loan applications. The loan applications are then approved or disapproved by the Board of Directors. He is vain about his looks, especially his blue eyes, which always cause comment, and always wears a bright blue or gold tunic with black leather breeches.
Myra Goldbrick, the head cashier of United Clan Bank, wears a sensible gray tweed dress which reaches her ankles and covers up her large fat feet. She is also of an age where gray hair piled high in a great bun on her head looks like a haystack.
Nora Derisson, the head bookeeper of United Clan Bank, is a young dwarf of some 100 ordinations. She wears green every day, which is her favourite color. She has long red curly hair, and a small nose, of which she is very proud. Her weight varies from cycle to cycle depending on her love life.
Arkas made his way into the new bank with a large grin on his face. He was excited as this was going to be the first day of his new business. That is at least if the loan would get approved. Arkas made his way over to Jakson and smiled upon greeting him.
"Serale brother. I was pointed in your direction in need of a loan! I was wondering what you could do for me, in regards to starting my own business here in Zerdargia or Dargis." Arkas asked as anyone could tell this was an exciting day for him.
Jakson was in a mood today and was not happy that his favorite blue shirt had been splattered with mud. While he was trying to wipe off the mud, who would come in but a customer, and a new one at that who he did not know. Frowning slightly and brushing the spot with his hand, he greeted Arkas with a slight frown, not at him particularly, but just at the bad start to a long day.
"Sit down here, sir," he said as politely as he could manage. After both had sat at his desk, he pulled out a clean parchment and looked at Arkas with some disdain. Most of the merchants had to be affilated with one of the 4 major clans. He had doubts that any one the clans did not know would not get a loan. As he did to patrons who he knew were not qualified, he begin his required speech.
"The United Clan Bank of Zerdargia was established by the four major clans of Zerdargia to aid clanmembers to apply for loans for business and personal needs. We have recently allowed all citizens to conduct business here and open an account. Have you taken advantage of this option? If not, I'm afraid you are not eligible for a loan."
As he was supposed to do, he did not mention the requirements for joining a clan for newcomers coming into Zerdargia. It was a tight community which Arkas sought to enter, and the only way he was going to get this information was if he asked.
Arkas thought about what the loan officer had said and sat back into his chair. He rub the seat of the chair with his large dirty hands as he nodded his head and looked around the establishment. Almost as if he was ignoring his fellow Dwarf.
Without even looking back to the loan officer Arkas smiled and replied, "I see, well then I guess I will go ahead and do that first. I think I saw a couple of halls on my way in." With that Arkas was out of his seat and on his way out the door, to find an accepting guild.
