The Hall of the Templar
The Hall of the Templar, the home of the Knights Templar guild and it's master, Alkamn Minith, was located towards the outskirts of Zerdargia, in what one would call a 'fair' or 'so-so' neighborhood. It served the purpose of being home to various members of the guild, being the meeting place of the guild, and acting as a treasury for the guild. The land surrounding the building was five acres of lightly wooded land, surrounded by a low cobblestone fence of finest dwarven craftsmanship.
The stone building itself consisted of two stories, an attic, and a subterranean basement. It was made from fine dwarven craftsmanship from fine Zerdargian stone and wood of the enchanted Dolwood. There was no sign near the building, nor was there any distinguishing symbol whatsoever. Only those that knew of it could tell it from any other building. Despite it being in one of the largest cities in the Empire, it therefor remained quite discreet. One set of double doors adorned the front cobblestone wall, with one small window and one small lantern on each side. On the rear wall, two small adjacent doors stood as back entrances to the building.
Inside of the main entrance was the formal dinning hall. It was a large room, making up almost a half of the first floor. In the hall were 2 small tables with three chairs situated around each. Towards the end of the hall stood a podium for whenever someone was addressing the people in the hall. To the left of the hall was a door that led to the long, but narrow, kitchen that ran along the left side of the hall. To the rear of the dining hall were six doors that lead to a string of six bedrooms. |

Timestamp: The Fourth Brightening, in the Month of Pontius, in the Season of Winter, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XV Post Fractum.
Appearing the two story dwarfen crafted building from the heart of Zerdargia; the young black-bearded dwarf felt a sense of uncharacteristic nervousness at the thought of what he planned on doing this brightening. His plan was a simple and straight forward one, but it was one that Coulter Minith hoped would change the face, and hopefully the fortunes of the Templar of Steel once and for all. It was for this reason, as well as issues with the Studdard brothers, that the four-foot tall dwarf had returned to the ancestral home city of the dwarfen race putting out the call for all members of the Templar to arrive at the guildhall this brightening for general discussion…the young dwarf just hoped some would remember the old oaths and return.
Over the past few eras it seemed to the outside world looking in that the fortunes of the Templar of Steel had dimmed somewhat from their glories past. The founding fathers, or the ‘old guard’ as they had sometimes been known, had disappeared or simply left for greener pastures over the eras, leaving the younger generations, those that where left, to pick up where the ‘old guard’ had left and to try and continue on. It was for this reason that the young dwarfen warrior known to some as Coulter Minith had returned to the guild, to continue on where his brother, Alkamn Minith, had left and to bring the guild back from the dead.
With a determination that only a member of the dwarfen race could process, Coulter Minith would upon reaching the set of double door pounded upon it waiting to be allowed entrance to the Guildhall of the Templar of Steel.

The guild liked its privacy and guarded it with some enthusiasm , the double doors were barred and locked against the outside world but at dwarf height was a small hole and from the other side of the door to Coulter an eye appeared scanning the dwarf warrior carefully. A grunt was all he heard from the eye but the grunt was followed by the rattle of chains, the creaking of a key and the slow squeal of protest from the doors as they pushed themselves open.
The door was opened enough to allow Coulter access to reveal an older dwarf in full armour and wielding a battle axe in both hands. bugga me aint seen you in a while have they run out of ale in the wide world? Truckious the gate man of the templar’s guild was in a good humour at the sight of the long lost brother templar though no doubt the more senior members of the order would not be so forgiving of his long absence.

The unfriendly welcome by the unknown gate keeper of the Templar of Steel was everything that the long absentee dwarfen warrior had been expecting from the members of the guild for his long absence from the ranks of the Templar. This long absence had been the unintended result of more pressing and personal issues and obligations to other organisations and parties that Coulter Minith had believed, and still believed to this brightening, where more important for his race and himself than fulfilling his role within the ranks of the Templar of Steel.
These obligations, many to the Enamorian City of Daltina, had been paid in full by the former soldier of the Daltina Armed Forces in gallons and gallons of blood; not all of it his enemies. The countless terrible and emotional memories of the Siege of Malice and all the resulting nightmares of that doomed conflicted had began to vanish into the cloudy darkness of the bearded warrior’s memory to be replaced by the more successful mission, and memories, of clearing out the Mines of Natura. Therefore with his other obligations and duties fulfilled to his city and to his race meant that the young black-bearded dwarf was now prepared to pay the price for his long absence from the mercenary guild and all that entailed.
Knowing that his long absence person would be more warmly welcomed in the brightenings to come, Coulter Minith would say these words in reply to the gate keeper’s words. ‘Serale brother templar, indeed it has been many a brightening since aye been seen within these dwarfen crafted walls. What news of the brotherhood and how goes the fortune of the Templar of Steel.’ As he was saying these words, the young four-foot dwarf would enter the familiar hallway of the guild house of the mercenary company known as the Templar of Steel.

The doors opened and then shut just as quickly as Coulter was allowed inside the Templar of Steel…The gate guard escorted Coulter through familiar halls and as they got closer to their destination he replied to Coulter.
Not good brother don’t know all the details but well there has not been much call for our services lately, the coffers are empty and good templar’s are missing seeking employment elsewhere .These are troubled times brother and a dwarf has to earn a crust of bread where he can. Still if you are back maybe we can get back into the templar game and attract some more likely candidates.

Hearing the recent decreasing fortunes and lack of prosperity within the Templars, Coulter Minith felt, and secretly wished for, a giant hole to open up beneath his feet, taking far away from the disaster that was the Templar of Steel. It was very unusual for the well travelled dwarfen adventurer to feel guilty about the consequences of his actions. However, in this case Coulter Minith couldn’t help feeling that his absence and as a result a lack of leadership within guild was the main cause of the mercenary company problems. These problems, the black-bearded dwarf vowed, would start to be solved with his return to the fold.
After hearing the gatekeeper’s statement about the current static of the guild, Coulter Minith spoke these words in his low rumbling voice. ‘Aye’ve never would have believed things could ever get so bad…please inform the members to attend the main hall in a candlemark time to discuss matters and what can be done to return our fellowship to our former glories. For now aye need to pray and ask guid…pray for thanks off the Great Creator.’
With this statement, the four-foot tall dwarf would find a quite corner within the main hall, kneel down and start to pray to Cetheron, God of the Dwarfs. ‘O Great Cetheron whatever is I to do…’
