It is said that the doors of the Church are always open and in this case, at least, they are. Through those open doors, at the far end of the central aisle that runs between the ordered rows of stone benches, a figure of a dwarf in clerical robes can be seen at the front of the sanctuary. He is kneeling in an attitude of prayer. Before him, on a bare stone table are a gold chalice, plate and large leather bound book. He does not respond as you enter the quiet hush of the room.
