A 15-foot high wall dropping down into a 20-foot deep an fifteen foot wide moat surround and fortify the city. The occasional bastion sticks out to allow archers to shoot at any opposing force. An interesting feature not far from the Southern gates is a huge boulder that forms part of the wall, the result of an arcanic defence and not far from the boulder is a large scar on the wall where acid etched its way into the stone.
The main gates can be found to the north of the city, while smaller gates can be found on each of the other sides of the city.
The 12-inch thick gates are made of solid Oak with steel reinforcements. A network of Pulleys and chains allow these massive gates to operate with great ease. This network also operates the Drawbridge that remains down during times of peace.
The city is still badly scarred from the war the previous winter and those that enter do so at their own risk. The summer sun beats down on the gates but the guards remain vigilent. Veterens one and all of the war, they do not wilt in the heat but check all visitors carefully, the guards at the gate backed by archers on the wall who will finish any disputes with a finality not to be argued with.
ooc: Since the war is not yet ended and the outcome and events not finalised, you enter at your own risk. The risk being that your thread may become invalidated by events during the war. For example, you buy some armour in the B&D Anvil and then go on an adventure where you use it. Then the B&D Anvil gets destroyed in the war. The risk you take is that your armour no longer exists and hence won't protect you during the adventure. In practice we will try and work around this but just bear in mind that I'm not promising anything!
