Imperial Senate

The Imperial Senate is the Imperial body exercising the power to provide counsel over the use of Maiestas and Auctoritas in non-binding fashion, or Senatus.

Titles IX (Power of Senatus), X (Selection of the Senate), XI (Organization of the Senate), XII (Functions of the Senate), XIII (Officers of the Senate), XIV (Preparation of Bills into Law), XV (Senate Procedure), of the Articles of Imperium govern its organization and procedures.

It was last called into a formal en banc session during the Mageocracy of Julos, though the legitimacy of this session is disputed in academic circles. Prior to that, the Imperial Senate was summoned last during the Rothchild Regency, 200 eras after it had been summoned by Emperor Valerian Constantius I.

Its composition and procedures were modified to some extent by an Edict of Empress Arabella the Just, prior to her subsequent illness.

A summons for the Imperial Senate to convene during Senate Sitting Time at the Regency of Milo L'Evienne resulted in the absence of a quorum.
