[Headquarters of Primus Gaudeo City Guard] Two weeks notice

"The commander will see you now sir." said the clerk as she exited the commanders office with some papers and sat down at her desk.

"Thank you corporal." he said as he got up from the chair.

He opened the door to the commanders office and stepped in. The commander was sitting at his desk. He pushed aside some papers and looked up.

"Captain Telan, what can I do for you this brightening?"

"Well, I'm wanting to put in my resignation." he said.

The commander sat with a slight bit of shock before speaking up.

"Ok, and if you don't mind sharing why you would like to resign?"

"With the birth of Kile, I feel maybe I should focus right now on him and a a job that could keep me with him during this time of his life. We'd also like to move to a new city to pursue that." he said.

The commander nodded he knew what Rhys was inclining to. "So are you going to also inform me that Yarrow is going to put in hers also."

Rhys shifted and nodded. "Yes sir."

The commander sighed as he dug some paperwork from his desk and placed it on the end of his desk and pushed his ink quill over.

"Fill this out then sign it. I'll get this through as fast as I can, have Yarrow come and fill it out also."

Rhys nodded and took the paperwork and began to fill it out. It was the second time he's had to resign, this time for a good reason. After a quarter of a candlemark he was done with it.

"Ok then Rhys, I'll see this through then personally for you and Yarrow also." he said as he offered his hand.

Rhys shook the offered hand and shook it. "Thank you sir, I appreciate it."

"Frell, I can't let a small boy not get to see his father alot. I can see thats also want you want in your eyes, I was the same way with my daughters. Good luck and take good care of that boy."

"I will sir." said Rhys with a smile.

He turned and headed out of the office and opened the door.

"Captain, if you ever need a job, I'll be more than happy to sign you back up." said the commander.

Rhsy smield and nodded before exiting the office and closing the door behind him.

[Yarrow]

It took Yarrow about an hour before she arrived, but she wasn't alone. I am sure it looks strange a woman and a baby going into see the City Guard. But then she thought better of it. They probably just think I am hear to complain or claim the baby is a guard's who will refuse to claim it or something.

"I am not surprised to see you Yarrow, but I am surprised to see this little guy. May I hold him?" Yarrow smiled warmly at the Captain.

"Of course sir. It will give me an extra arm to fill out the paperwork." She extended the baby to him and got down to working on the paperwork he had handed her. Since Kile was sleeping she didn't worry about him at all. She did look up once or twice to make sure the Captain was still smiling at the sleeping baby. It's something about a sleeping baby that makes everyone happy, but when it starts to cry they always give it back to the mother. She thought and stood up with the finished paperwork.

"Here you go, sir. I hope all is in order."

"Thank you Yarrow and I wish you good luck." She nodded and gave a last salute before collecting her baby and heading for the door and back home once more.
