[Adventurers and Fighters Guild Arena]
AFG Arena
Description:
In keeping with the grandness of Primus Gaudeo, the AFG arena was no exception. Standing in the shadow of the grand Firebird Casino, the Arena of the Primus Gaudeo Adventurers and Fighters Guild was housed in a particularly large building constructed of timber and stone. It carried with it a similar stylish design to the rest of the area, suggesting that it might perhaps cater for the more 'rich' of Primus society.
The only clue to the building's identity came from the large sign above the fancy double doors, guarded by four doormen who appeared to be well armed.
One of the guards held the door open for visitors as they entered. When considering what this place is for, it was hard to imagine just who might get turned away.
Inside was a marvel to the eyes, ears and nose. Firstly, the layout looked particularly well thought out. Sitting in the middle of the large, one floor building was a circular pit, the surface covered in sand. A rope running all the way around marked it off. There was perhaps two feet of ground and then the start of a large wooden stand that surrounded half of the fighting pit. It had the capacity to hold a large crowd, as it did then with a fight currently in progress.
Meanwhile, the over half of the circle was surrounded by a collection of tables. They were round wooden tables and four chairs each. Waiters were taking orders from the various people sitting there, most of whom were nobles are the more richer people in this city. Meanwhile, for those choosing not to sit, there was a bar behind all the tables with a long row of stools aside it. More 'common' types could be found sitting at the bar.
Finally, there were several stalls to be found to the left and right on entering that filled up the rest of the building. Bet takers occupied these and gamblers, hoping to make a crown or two on tonight's fights, surround them. At one stall sat the manager identified by a nameplate that reads, 'Emit Angel'. The man is human, about 5`9 and looked to be very strong in his appearance.

Energy and excitement coursed through the tough dwarf’s veins as he entered the arena. His eyes, although normally lacking any noticeable luster, glimmered brilliantly as he recognized the symbol outside the lavish building –the same symbol of the organization he belonged to. Rubbing his dirty hands together eagerly, he pulled out his license and showed it to the guards for admittance.
As he entered, he found himself spinning around in complete circles, marveling both at the flamboyant luxury of the facility’s patrons and also the enormous pit in which the fights transpired. His gaze glued to the latter as he lumbered to the edge of the arena, staring wide-eyed at the sand arena and the participants within.
He would be in there soon enough!
After inspecting the various stalls around him, Korgar hurried over to the one designating the manager of the fights: Emit Anger. Staring up at the burly human, the dwarf straightened his broad shoulders and waited for the man’s attention.
“ Serale mate! Dis where I be signin’ fer a fight?” He asked, holding his AFG license tentatively in front of him.

The manager took the licence and squinted at it for a moment before handing it back with a short laugh.
"This is the place right enough," he declared, straightening. "Fights are starting now, how do you want to play it? If this is your first visit you can just watch, or I can set you up for a little warm up fight. It's standard practice for new fighters so that everyone can get a feel for things. Have you done this before, are you familiar with the rules?"

“Meh, I ain’t much fer watchin’,”” Korgar admitted, his eyes wandering of their own accord to the pit where the stands were steadily filling with cheering spectators. “N’ I ain’t ever done dis ‘afore, but I’m reckonin’ I got da hang of it.” As if to emphasize his point, the dwarf slammed his fists together.
He nodded eagerly as the man proposed a warm up fight. As it was the first time that Korgar had ever fought anything at all (aside those few orcs in the Centripaxian Heartlands), he wasn’t one to disagree with getting a taste of what was to come. “Yep. I dink I got it,” He said after glancing to the short list of rules posted on one of the nearby boards. The thought of an extra one hundred crowns to purchase ale with sounded mightily good to him.

7th Brightening, 2nd Cycle, Month of Kalendryas, Season of Winter, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XV Post Fractum.
Garl had recently found his way into Primus Gaudeo after traveling the countryside of the Empire. After visiting the Mugg and Brew Inn and filling his seemingly endless hunger, Garl was in far better spirits than when he had arrived. No longer hungry, the giant set about exploring the city which was new to him, taking time to appreciate the dwarven architecture.
It didn't take Garl long to discover the Adventurer and Fighter's Guild Arena. The notion of a fighter's guild seemed like one of the most logical professions anybody could pursue. It was too bad that he hadn't thought of it himself. Garl stood near the door, towering over the four armed door men. He directed his attention down to the four.
"Pardon, but how would I go about purchasing one of these guild licenses?" Garl asked. If it were possible, the giant would get into the ring immediately and start trading blows with anybody brave enough to challenge the might of a giant. He was reasonable, however, and understood that it would probably take at least a brightening to acquire the needed documentation to be allowed to fight here.

Garl
Emit grinned, his teeth flashing in the slightly dim light inside the Arena.
"I'll take it that you aren't a member then." His eyes measured up the giant carefully, for this would be a formidable challenger, and one that could be interesting indeed.
"You can get a licence at any of the Guild offices, I can arrange one if you want, here and now. A crown in the hand is worth ten in the bank as they say." He waited for just a moment before continuing. "Have any experience at this sort of thing?"

Garl listened to the man, Emit, speak. The Guild offices would sell him a membership and license. The giant thought over the proposition of letting Emit arrange the paperwork here and now. After a short moment, the giant decided it would be more prudent to hand his crowns over to a guild member in one of the offices. He wasn't sure of the character of the man standing feet below him, but it was better safe than sorry when it came to financial matters.
"I can't say as I've had any formal trainin', unless ya count rough housin' with kin folk. But, I figure I got as good a shot as anyone else if not better when it comes ta fightin'. Don' reckon ya got too many giants ready ta fight." Garl replied, answering the man's question about his experience. He continued afterwards saying, "I 'ppreciate ya willin' ta help me out, but if it's all tha same, I reckon I'd best find where ever'thing is in tha city. If ya could point me in tha right direction to tha Guild Office, I'll be makin' my way there next."
