[Camberdown Mansions], Apartment #5
Camberdown Mansions was large, built from marble that was threaded with green veins although this was only apparent when close up. A wall of six foot surrounded its grounds, and large gates heralded its entrance. The gates stood open during the hours of light, and come darkness were closed with a nightwatchman posted inside ready to assist residents as they came and went during the night. Marble lined the drive up to the mansion itself, and on either side, green lawns skirted the building, with occasional trees, benches and flower beds. Khun explained that the groundsman who lived on site maintained the gardens but was happy to let residents help out or grow particular plants and shrubs that they preferred.
The building itself was an expansive mansion, impressive to the eye and three floors high. It was topped by a pitched roof with green tiles matching the marble veins, and chimneys at intermittent distances. Small balconies ran along the upper floors, with tall windows gleaming in the sunlight. The drive way ran under an archway at the front of the building and into a large quadrangle courtyard. Here it became obvious that the ground floor of the mansions were given over primarily to the space for stabling and coaches, with small residences for the groundstaff. On all four sides of the quadrangle were wide staircases which led up to double doors that were open into the interior. The stairs that led to the top floor and turned to the two doors on his left, stopping outside the one which had a shinning brass number five fixed on the door. A quick knock on the door would yeild either Rhys or Yarrow if they were home, most likely Rhys if they were both home, since Yarrow was progressing further along in pregnancy, but if Yarrow was home by herself, it may take a while for her to get to the door.
The surfaces were once again marble, with the floors covered with arakmatian rugs and heavy drapes at the windows. There were eight apartments on this floor, two to each side of the building that ran around the courtyard. Their apartment faced into the courtyard rather than out to the gardens, but it was not an unpleasant view, for the quadrangle was tidy and neat with a decorative fountain standing central, surrounded with planters filled with flowers. The apartment was arranged in a long stretch, a long corridor running the entire length that opened into each room. The first was the living room, and it was the biggest space within, divided into different areas according to the furnishings. Before the fireplace were comfortable sofas and a low table, beyond was a dining area and at the far end a second fireplace, armchairs and bookcases. If all the ornate furniture were to be removed, it would be quite easy to hold a small ball inside for there would be space for twenty couples to easily dance. The tall windows let in the sun light, and chandeliers hung overhead for the evening. Two of the windows extended to the floor and served as doorways out onto the balconies that overlooked the quadrangle. Beyond the living space was a kitchen – and this was more functional, a space for laundry and cooking but with all that would be needed for such, including it’s own pump for water. After this was the master bedchamber with a small bathroom attached and finally the second smaller bedroom, but still of a comfortable size with a double bed and wardrobe. The master bedchamber though was impressive, with a four poster bed, plenty of closet space and other such furnishings that would make any resident feel they were in the lap of luxury.

This was an address that the messenger had little trouble finding considering that his clan owned the building. Some might question the contents of the message that he carried and wonder why it was that a Marquis would concern himself with a Captain of the Guards, but the dwarfs had their own ideas about who was important and there weren't the same as the human and elven societies. Or perhaps the Marquis simply had a sense of humour?
The messenger stopped at the door, knocked and waited for a reply. The one who answered the door might well recognise the livery of the dwarf that would then have passed over the envelope, and perhaps even the crest on the envelope would be familiar too, given that both belonged to their landlord.
Having delivered the envelope, the dwarf nodded and departed.

Rhys was away at work so when the knock on the door sounded Yarrow sighed heavily and slowly got to her feet. Her back hurt and she was not in a very good mood (something that seemed to be frequent these days), but she made her way to the door and gave the dwarf a kind nod and smile of thanks as he handed over the letter. She closed the door and opened the envelope and pulled out the letter.
"Dress formal?" Yarrow said with a sigh. She wouldn't be able to get into her old uniform, but Rhys was taken care of. "I guess if we go I'm going to need a dress." She said to herself and went to wait for Rhys to come home and see what he wanted to do. She had been stuck around the house for months and was ready to do something else for a change.

Visiting an Old Friend, and a Pregnant Daughter

Keldon knew where the building was and had little trouble finding it, since as Thane he wanted to know exactly where his Captain was stationed, although she normally lived at the Thanal Estate given her recent condition it was unlikely she was still on duty, although it would not overly surprise him if she was stubborn enough to do so.
A hard knock hit the door from Keldons knuckle from his bare hand, his other holding the glove that went with his Imperial Uniform he waited for someone to answer the door, and since Rhys did not say they had move he assumed they still resided at this location.

Rhys looked from the kitchen, he was taking care of a few things when the knock on the door came. He knew Yarrow couldn't get it, she was in the bedroom, most likely sleeping. He wiped his hands on the sides of his brown pants and headed through the living room to the door.
He looked through the peephole and saw the familiar face standing there. He smiled to himself as he unlocked and opened the door.
"I'm sorry Mr. Salesman, we're not interested." he said with a smile.

The pile of blankets began to cry and Yarrow rushed over to it and attempted to find the crying child within, but after she pulled each layer off there was still no sign on the crying child. Yarrow became frantic in her search for the crying child and the cries became louder and louder until.... Yarrow gasped loudly and her eyes opened. It took her a while to steady herself and her heart. Her hands moved down to her round tummy and she took a deep breathe in and that's when she heard the knock at the door, but before she could react she heard Rhys moving with in. She smiled a little before it deepened into a frown as she began to wonder who it could be.
"I'm sorry Mr. Salesman, we're not interested." She heard him say and she shook her head. It was just someone trying to get them to part with their money. Yarrow sighed and moved slowly into a sitting position for it was time to get up anyway...besides she had to go to the bathroom again before her bladder burst.

Keldon couldn't help but laugh at Rhy's statement as the large smile came to his face. "You better purchase something otherwise ill have to throw you in the stockade and take my daughter here into banishment!" He said with a warm smile extending his hand out to his friend.

Rhys smile turned into a laugh as he shook the offered hand. "Please, step on inside. Just try to cause too much of a ruckus, Yarrow is having some down time."
Once Keldon was inside he'd close the door behind him. "I'm sure she'd be suprised to see you, but I ain't gonna try to wake her."

Keldon nodded to Rhys but decided to say hello to Yarrow in the way he knew she would understand. His mouth opened and his lungs inhaled. "Captain Woodruff, on your feet and front and center this damn second!" his voice bellowed and he gave a small loving shrug to Rhys to say sorry.

"Captain Woodruff, on your feet and front and center this damn second!" Yarrow inhaled deeply at the sound of his voice for she was not expecting to hear it.
"Don't you use that tone with me old man!" Yarrow shouted back and she waddled out of the bedroom, but by the time she came into their view she was smiling. "It's about time you come and saw us!" She scolded him.

Keldon started to chuckle and patted Rhy's on the shoulder as he moved in to give Yarrow a hug. "I maybe an old man but seriously is that anyway to treat your father?" He asked warmingly. "I am sorry that I have not visited sooner, the legion is keeping me busy more then I expected. I have been running half around the empire then back again, just to do it over again. Good for the leg's though." he said with a large smirk. "So how are you two, and the new ones coming?"

Yarrow thought that it was funny that he insisted on being the father. She let him have his fun.
"Well I hope the walk did you good. Did you start any good fights while I wasn't there to protect you?" She demanded. "Oh we're getting by and the baby is almost due...about a month left." She tried not to show her nerves, but it was obvious that she was a little fearful of what was to come.

Good fights... you could say that I suppose. "Well there was not real combat but fights there were. Some with arms and some political. It is interesting to see my role progress. From training to Paxia, right back to the Capital to work for the Ministry, apparently it is hard to find people to rely on these days, and when you do... you see if you can use them wisely." He said with a wery smile giving a small glance towards Rhys then looked back to Yarrow. "So have you thought about any names for the little munchkins yet?" he asked with a smirk.

"We have picked one out, yes. Kile Bonsai Woodruff Telan we have decided on. It's a big name, but it holds a lot of value to us. Kile Telan was Rhys uncle who saved his life from a wolf. Bonsai Woodruff was my older brother who was very important to me. I just hope we don't have twins." Yarrow joked.

Rhys let them talk their talk, he knew they had missed one anothers friendly jabbings. The subject of names came up, he knew Yarrow had liked his uncles name they decided to choose, he thought it was good to have her brothers name there also, he knew he was special to yarrow.
Keldon mentioned twins, that was a thoguht Rhys had pushed back hoping for just one rugrat but whatever was willed would happen, he was ready for it; more than Yarrow knew. "Yes, one load of nasty diapers would be a handfull, can't imagine two."
