A messenger arrived in the early mornings of first brightening of the first cycle of Imperos, in the Season of Summer, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum. The First Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne. carrying a letter from the thane of Natura, Lynda Ironstaff. The letter was left for the Lt. Gov. as the Governor could not be found by the incompetent messenger. Within the letter was a semi-formal resignation by the current thane of Natura and an apology.
Secrets :
Serale Your Imperial Excellency
As I have spent close to an era representing the city of Natura as its thane, it seems that it has not been for nought. Two grassroot projects did indeed take foot. One being the opening of the old Naturan mine, still in progress, the other being that of building a garden adequate for the cultivating of rare flowers that adorn the surroundings of Natura, also still in progress. Time will tell if these projects lead anywhere.
However, it has come to my attention that I am no longer needed in Natura. Both my services as Thane and healer have proven to be unnecessary at this time and as such, I hereby declare my resignation of the position of Thane. I am certain that Natura can handle itself in the cycles as you search for a new Thane to take my place. I shall be headed to Riparia, where I will continue my studies in the arts of healing.
If you feel that I have been a waste of government resources, fear not. I did not draw my salary for the better part of my thaneship, as I saw no need. The money remains safely in the coffers of Natura and Centripax needn't spend as much in the coming era on the position of a new thane. I am no expert on economics, but I would estimate that half an era's worth of salary lies untouched in the Naturan coffers.
With no further ado, I hereby formally announce my resignation of the Thaneship of Natura.
Sincerely, Her Former Grace, Lynda Ironstaff.

The Lieutenant Governor of Centripax was not within his offices, nor had be been for the better part of three cycles, and it was unexpected that he would be back within the next three cycles; thus the letter which was brought by the messenger was received by Regal Nebrask, Raliric's secretary, and taken almost immediately to the Office of the Governor, which was right next door, and there presented to Manjior, the Governor's secretary. ”Would you kindly be able to see this reaches the Governor as soon as possible. Thank you.” Then she left the waiting room for the Governor's Office and returned to her own waiting room.
