[Doli Castle] - Taking In The Scenery

Eighth Brightening of the First Cycle in the Month of Ioannes in the Season of Summer; Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum. The First Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne.

Keldon stood looking over the city of Primus Gaudeo and the Concordia Incola from atop the Doli Castle. Behind him in the shadows if he looked he could see the figures of the guards who had followed him up and took there positions around the roof and stairways leading to there Lord Thanes location. At times he smiled at the notion those around him were willing to protect them, but that smile went away almost as fast as it had come. It was there job to do so, regardless if they liked that person or not.

Standing there looking off the battlements of the Doli Castle Keldon smiled while looking over the gently lit city, parts of the city were well lit. Traffic for merchants and people still coming and going even during the dark hours, other parts where as dark as night. With only the odd light breaking the stillness, disappearing almost as quickly as it appeared.

Keldon closed his eyes and started to do something he had not done in a rather longtime. He began to allow his mind to go blank, and allow his thought leave him. Beginning to enter meditation he started to tune out the world around him, the feeling of the gentle wind passing over his skin vanished as he grasped the planes. Opening his eyes the color of the elements around him began to sparkle. Bringing a uplifting smile to his face.

Turning to see those around him in the shadows he began to think he would try to create a spell, but perhaps slightly faster then he did when he first learned the spell. Looking around at the elements around him he began to use his mind to pull them together, moving them into a swirling ball. He was going to cast, or atleast try to cast. Orb of Light, after a brief moment of moving the elements together to create a ball of vis and aura his mind would quickly grab a stray element and quickly hurral it towards the swirling mass. In his mind once it contact the ball it would become the spark to bring it into the material world as a gleaming ball of light.

The Orb of Light glinted through the darkness, a pale glowing beacon against the descending twilight. It brightened up the balcony, disipating shadows and giving way to what might have otherwise remained hidden. The place was empty, however. No rodents scurried for cover, no evening birds lifting their wings and taking flight. Empty.

"Hey! 'xuse me! Is someone there?"

Well, maybe not entire empty.

"You! With the bright light! Over here!" the voice whined, tiny and barely audible, though the quiet of the darkening helped project it some. "I'm talkin' to you, you numbnut! Over here! Please, I can't move!"

The source of the voice seemed to come from below and to the left, almost as if the individual were hanging off the side somewhere. But how on Telath was that possible?

Keldon was relaxed and watched the light glow brightly. A smile on his face he added slightly more of the elements to it, it was going to see if he could change the color of the object. But the silent enjoyment of the wind blowing of the castle and nothing else was broken by a voice which caught Keldon off guard. He blinked afew times his eyes looking around the now lit section of the castle roof but he made sure his mind was also focused on the orb to keep it lit.

Looking around in his mind he move the orb with him as he stepped to make it move with him. Pushing behind the orb was more elements to move it along. Making it to the edge he would look down to see if anyone was there. Edging the ball just over the battlements to attempt to light up the area below. "Someone down there! How on Teleth did you manage that!?!"

The light pushed a little over the battlements, illuminating the darkness just below where Keldon stood. There was little more beyond the stone railing than air and more stone...far below that wouldn't exactly be any fun to land on should a person lean too far over. For a moment it seemed like there was nothing more than air, wind, and stone, when the feeble voice piped up again. "Over here. What're you blind? Stupid? Geez...first person who finds me and they're dumb as a rock," the voice wailed, notably male despite its high timbers.

A slight movement just out of the range of the light was enough to drag at Keldon's attention: the wave of an arm, a very tiny arm perhaps less than four inches in length and very slender, but the paleness of the skin was enough to stick out against the harsh stone rock that jutted away from the battlement. A pixie sat there, naked as anything, with pale skin and a set of pink and gold wings...save one was at a rather awkward angle, looking almost bent in half...and when the other wings fluttered, for he fidgeted restlessly on his seat, this one caused him to wince as it moved.

"Could you get me up, please? I've been sitting here for candlemarks. I think my wing's going to fall off," the pixie continued to whine.

Keldon had a smile on his face after the mans comments. Keldon looked off the cliff once more towards the darkness that laid below, in his mind he commanded the light to move slightly towards the direction of the pixie. Stepping back briefly he looked to the guards and calmly said. "Would you mind getting some rope please, it seems this is going to be a little less of a peaceful evening then I had thought..." He said with the smile on his face still looking over the edge.

"Help will be here shortly..." he said his eyes casting towards the swirling ball of light. Looking around the darkness, the sheer amount of emptiness of the night he cast his eyes to the swarming amounts of vis and ara in the sky, coming through the floor and everything around him and then he quirked his brow slightly and stood up once more closing his eyes to return to clara once more. As he had become distracted slightly with this whole ordeal.

Waiting perhaps a minute or less he opened his eyes, the ball was likely gone as he allowed his mind to drop from the object. Perhaps his subconscious allowed it to stay there. Either way he opened his eyes and searched the darkness to where the pixie was. In his mind he scanned the area for the creatures life, although there was collections of vis and aura all over. But his eyes focused to where he last saw the creature move against the stone walls.

Looking around him he starting to move the elements from all about him. Bringing much of it from the darkness around the creatures location he started to pull it into one location, spreading it out to encompass not only the pixie but the empty space around the being. He was not fully sure where he was standing but he had a good idea, or atleast he hoped.

Keldon shifted his eyes to the wand that sat in his pocket. It was the wand he used during training. He had brought it with him to assist him with the spell should he need it, but he decided not to use it before. Although he had thought about using it now... if this failed the rope was coming he thought silently and he decided to try the spell without it. Although he slightly expected to fail, as the magic used during his training was mainly from the wand. Even though his teacher said he showed promises and was able to command the elements better then the average student he still was slightly cautious in what he was doing.

After he felt like he had moved enough of the elements to the pixie he paused briefly and placed his hand on the wand. This was not just training and he knew it, this was something that could harm the creature if done wrong. Or if it startled the pixie it could fall to its death. So he took the wand in his fingers and looked at it briefly and held it out. Moving some of the elements directly around him into the wand.


He felt ready to try and complete the spell and he started to will the elements around the pixie to start to gently become warm and give the creature some warmth of the cold soft wind of the night, closing his eyes he started to will the elements around him to become like the touch of a healer. Soft and uplifting, to relax the creature and tend to there wounds. His mind started to will the elements to heal the creatures injury's and repair the damage the material world had caused towards the pixies natural body.

Keldons eyes were closed during the attempt of the spell, and he would not know if it worked or not for a brief time as he kept his mind focused on what needed to be done, shortly after he would open his eyes and get ready to look over the edge and call out to see if he was still alright.

One of the guards left, the other remaining, taking his charge of protection very serious. A little curious--and cautious--about what Keldon was focused on, the remaining guard shifted forward a short distance from the elf and peered over the edge of the railing. He frowned, squinted, but saw nothing even though the orb of light illuminated a fair amount of the overhang below. Somehow he refrained from shooting Keldon a rather odd look as he turned and went back to his position without comment.

"Can't you just bend over and get me?" the pixie wailed and then he audibly began crying. "This is why everybody needs wings. Why can't you just grow some of those? That light really isn't all that fancy. If you grew some wings--that'd be useful!"

Good thing Keldon reached for his wand, as all that blabbering was rather distracting and for any initiate achieving clara while someone's wailing at you can be a bit difficult. With the aid of the wand, Keldon drew on the energies and combined them with only relative difficulty and it was certainly slow-going, but eventually the pixie's wails subsided into astonishment.

"What did you do? My wings doesn't hurt so much any more!" He fluttered his wings, showing that the broken one looked relatively healed--it was still at a slightly strange angle and did hurt some when he moved it, but it had certainly improved in appearance. He wailed some more. "I just want to fly," he wept.

The guard that had moved off to find some rope stepped forward, a thick coil extended towards Keldon. "Best thing I could find. I wasn't sure what you needed it for..." He glanced at the other guard who shrugged, but didn't add anything.

"Get me up there!" the pixie continued.

Keldon shook his head as the pixie found something else to rant about, he wondered if the thing would ever stop. But it was someone who needed assistance and he wouldn't walk away. Even if tempting, when the guard returned with the coil he nodded his head in thanks. "That should do it, the pixie over the edge isn't very heavy." he said with a smirk

Taking the coil he would toss it over the edge and lower it down to where the pixie was previously standing, as he lowered it all the while wondering what the pixie was doing hovering around the castle in the first place and how odd the guards had to think of there thane at the moment.

[Adder]

It seemed that some people were never satisfied for no sooner had the coil of rope gone over the side did the voice pipe up again. "Ere, mind out there you lout, are you trying to save me or knock me off?"

Soon though weight came onto the rope as the pixie grasped it. "Pull me up. Have you gone to sleep up there?"

Keldon sighed and started to pull on the rope to raise the creature up to the ledge slowly as to not jerk the rope, and once the person was up he would nod his head briefly and look at his rather curiously. "Enjoy the view?" he said with a smile.
