Just a Hop, Skip, and Jump... Mr. Thane
Sitting in utter silence in one of the many rooms in the Thanal Manor of Primus Gaudeo, Draekial Kadrakai, Journeyman mage in the art of Sorcery contemplated his next move in a meditative state. On the floor before him lay one of the several mundane rings which had been given him by the thane of the city. He was providing this service in exchange for the right to use his own money as he saw fit; a thought which was quite humorous and absurd, but one which he took part in for his own purposes. Laughable, but of no true concern for him now. He was here for practice and practice alone. Neither the money nor the purpose of the items which he was to create here had any consequence in his life. No... this, as all other things in his life, was done solely to further improve his own abilities.
Deep, relaxed breathing aided in his ascent to the state of clara as two worlds combined into one brilliant harmonious flow of energy all about the world around him. The grain of the wood beneath him, the water in the jug at his bedside, even the very air which entered his lungs was woven in a manner so complex that it was hard to believe that even the gods themselves understood the inner workings of it all. He, as a sorcerer, was given a small command over these energies, and he used this gift very well. Few could say they understood the world as the sorcerers did, for only a sorcerer could comprehend the many intricacies which kept the world moving. Energy, force, and movement were his domains; pure will was the tool of his craft.
After using a single claw to carve two parallel circles into the wooden floor beneath him, Draekial filled each with a mixture of pure ara and his own vis, then 'polarized' each circle in turn: the outer to reflect all things back in, and the inner to reflect outward. This failsafe essentially ensured that neither he nor the outside world would take the brunt of the result of any possible mishap. Not to say that he would allow any such thing to happen, as he was most meticulous in the practice of his art. There was no hurry here and as such there was no reason for any mistake to be made. He had forsaken food, drink, and contact with the outside world before, in the name of furthering his art, and he could most certainly do it again. Perfection was his goal and he would strive for it always.
By first examining the weave of the ring and determining the exact purpose of each and every 'string' in the weave of the object he could then determine the best place in which to integrate the spell itself, and the energies it would use. Whether to examination took seconds, minutes, or hours was unknown to him, as he was far too preoccupied with the actual study of the object. When he had fully analyzed the ring and every detail of its weave he then began shaping his own spell. By mixing the terminal amount of ara with his own vis he prepared to expend nearly the entirety of his energies for the day and propelled himself to the astral plane.
After focusing upon and channeling the essence of his sphere he carefully shaped it into the actual weave of the ring itself.By first shaping with alteration he could set a single string of across the 'spacescape' between where the wearer was and where he wanted to be. Through abjuration he could set the string connecting the two places to fold upon itself and essentially bring the destination to the wearer. Finally, with divination he could allow the one who wore the ring to 'tell' the spell where that location was, simply by thinking of it. At this stage the ring would still have to be activated by an apprentice, but that would change when he got his energy back.

The ring sat there innocuous in appearance and unchanged to the eye of the casual observer. Whether it would actually work as intended or indeed even if it would work at all was something that only someone who was feeling adventurous would find out. Of course though, without risk what point in adventuring?

Keldon entered the room perhaps a short time after they were completed and smiled. "Serale Draekial, enjoying your stay?"

A wide, toothy grin remained plastered to Draek's features as he returned to his room in the Thanal Manor of Primus Gaudeo. The grin itself was the result of some excellent news which he had received from Mystique, but it most certainly brightened when he realized the work which lay ahead of him. In truth, he loved even the most mundane of practices in Arcana and this was far from mundane, as he had never attempted such an alteration of an imbuement. He had spent enough time studying various objects in clara to understand what function each section of the weave served, but he had never actually altered one in such a manner, just yet.
After placing the previously charged ring between the two carved circles on the floor, Draekial filled each with oppositely polarized 'technique essence', allowing the one closest in proximity to deflect all things outward and the second ring to do just the opposite. It had been done a hundred times before by his hand and mind... this was no different.
When calmed fully one again, he proceeded with the task at hand. Metaphysically reaching out, he focused on the vis weave of the ring and studied each characteristic with a discerning eye. He mentally referenced the similarities in the hundreds of other objects he had observed until he found the single strand which he sought; a strand which interwove itself through the entirety of the ring. The small string of energy represented the physical resistance which the ring offered when pressure was applied to it. When 'enough' pressure was applied that strand would collapsed upon itself, essentially destroying the form of the ring. With this in mind, he knew exactly how to alter it to match his needs.
With slow, deliberate mental 'movements' the mage took a strand of the spell itself, split it, and connected the two ends just a minute distance from one another along the structural line. Using this method he allowed for spell release upon pressure being applied to a specific area of the ring. This area just happened to be on the inner surface of the ring, where he would later mark a simple 'x' to denote the sweet spot. It would take a fair bit of pressure to activate, which eliminated the possibility of accidental casting and stopped simple tampering. With all vis alterations finished, he poured a good majority of his remaining vis into the stores already in the ring. This would provide at least a couple more casts.
After finishing his work and dropping from clara he dashed off to find the thane. Finding no luck, he decided that it was better he vacate the premises and continue his work upon notice from Keldon.
OOC: Waiting for approval. Draek will keep the ring.
