The Governors private secretary opened the letter and scanned the contents quickly. That it might be marked private and sealed was of no consequence to him for it was his job and in any case, other peoples opinions as to what was for the Governors eyes only mattered not the slightest. When he'd started, many eras ago, he'd beleived that if it said private and confidential on the envelope, then it was. Experience however had taught him that often this was merely a trick to get rubbish past the censor of the secretary and he didn't care to waste the Governors time with trivia.
This one though seemed worthy of her time, and he refrained from filing it in the recycling bin. Instead he composed a quick reply and placed the letter in her in tray.
