The servent smiled and took Yarrow's coat, waiting to take Rhys. Which was soon to follow indeed, taking both of there coats he smiled, bowing slightly and leaving to put them away only a short distance up one of the many halls.

The room the two stood in how was the main foyer. Extending upward the full two stories of the building, a long rectangular yellow-glass window cut through the roof, allowing merry sunbeams to dance and echo throughout the pale stonework and hung tapestries, broken only by the triangular pattern drawn through the glass to hold the pieces together. A border formed out of small strips of black marble framed the foyer like a stony rug, extending underneath the spiral staircase leading upstairs and into the expansive sitting room just at the end. To the left, another pair of darkly-stained wooden doors flanked the tapestry depiction of the Goddess Carmelya, often left half-open to allow a gentle flow of air through and afford a good view of the foyer. Another guard, this time single, stood by the left doorframe, matching his uniform and weapon to those standing just outside the door. His presence indicated the occupation of the office inside by the Lord Thane himself

A female elf was also there to greet them, "Serale M'lady, M'lord," She said with a smile looking over her shoulder briefly. "Is everything in order and ready to enter the dinning hall? His Grace is waiting for you there, as dinner is ready." She said with a soft, warm, yet childish type of tone.

Yarrow looked around the room with interest, but she hid her awe under a smooth mask. Yarrow noted the tapestry depiction of the Goddess Carmelya and marveled at it's beauty. It had been left half-open and Yarrow could sense the fresh air. A single guard stood by the left doorframe with the same uniform that the others had been. Yarrow hoped that he was experienced with his sword for the Thane was an important person.

"Serale M'lady, M'lord," Yarrow glanced toward the voice. She was a happy looking elf with a rather large smile on her face. "Is everything in order and ready to enter the dinning hall? His Grace is waiting for you there, as dinner is ready." Yarrow smiled back and nodded her head.

"Yes, of course." She told the elf and glanced over at Rhys. I hope you remember your manners. Yarrow almost jumped and if she didn't have her mask on she would have looked shocked. It had been a while since one of the voices had talked to her unbidden. I will deal with you later. She growled back inside her head.

Rhys looked first up at the magnificent glass ceiling and then turned his attention to teh tapesries and such that decoreated the main foyer. The tapestry of Carmelya was a work of art indeed, Keldon must be religious thought Rhys. He defintly never had a problem with religions, except Jalat. Was he a hypocrite, technically yes but so was the rest of everyone who hated the darker religions.

Rhys defintly had taken note of the guards, the two outside the main door and the lone one standing inside. The elven voice broke his thinking world. He nodded after Yarrow's reply.

"Ladies first." he motioned with a smile.

Arabella smiled and nodded her head. "As you wish." She walked down the hallway and through a archway that opened into the main dinning hall. The table was lined with white silk cloth, candelabras were sprung from end to end of the thirty one person table. Various arrangements of flowers were present on the table.

Along the walls were various paintings of the city landscape, historic battles and various other locations. Along the fall wall were four guards wearing there dress uniforms, standing at perfect attention. The room was extravagant, which in truth it should be. Primus Gaudeo is the second largest city in the Empire and the house of the man who was in charge of it all would be very well crafted and filled with lavish items.

Keldon was at the head of the table sipping a glass of wine when the two entered the room. He rose putting the glass down carefully on the white silk. A smile came over his face. "Serale Captain Rhys, Lieutenant Yarrow, and welcome to my home." He said in a warm tome.

On further inspection the two would notice there seats had been placed, what appeared to be steak, vegtibales, corn, peas, potatoes, bread, and various bottles of wine sat on, infront, or around there plates.

Yarrow flashed white teeth in response to the titles that the Thane had given them. "My Lord." Yarrow responded with a slight bow and she held out her hand for him.

"Thank you for inviting us to dine with you, sir, the food looks lovely." Yarrow told him, taking in the food, the guards and the clean atmospher. At least he has more guards in here. Yarrow thought to herslf. She had worried when she saw so little guards about the place. Is he not concerned with his saftey or are these men very good at what they do...or both?

Rhys followed the elf into teh dining room and it was indeed grand. He was interested in the paintings, he'd never been an "artsy' person but he could appreciate fine brushwork. The table was laid simple and extravagantly, the food looked delicous and smelled of it too. Keldon was sitting, sipping something as they had entered.

'Thank you Lord Elsdragon, I see that you chose something apart from what I saw you with earlier today." Rhys said with a grin before bowing his head slightly.

"Indeed Captain," Keldon said with a smile taking Yarrow hand into his own and giving it a gentle kiss. "Please, take a seat and enjoy." He said moving over to his chair sitting down. Looking to Rhys Keldon smiled. "So Captain, tell me about yourself."

Rhys sat down after Keldon sat, he never had had too much experience with fancy dinner, so from here on he was just winging it. The food that sat before him called to him but so did Keldon.

[i]Hm, what sould i say[i/] he thought to himself.

"Well, up until my command in Archadoon, as you know, I moved to Olympia and was a marine for two eras there. Participated in a few sea maneuvers but I was mostly on inland patrol and immgrant duties on the docks. I think I've come in contact with just about every type of person from every race, including a narcaleptic elf while checking bags, visas, cargo and boats. Acquired my own ship and traveled around the northern coast cities of the Empire during my off times." While talkign he had cut his steak that sat before him, not one to turn down food.

He took a bite, chewed and swallowed, then continued. "During my command i've met some very important men, Justicar Roland Moonstar, that was his title when I met with him and also Sir Raliric Ered`Gard of the Argent Sword. Eventhough I only knew them for a short time, they are men that have my utter respect for." his mind flashed to the day when Lady Arkdun was kidnapped along with Roland and he and Raliric were the ones that organzied the search and rescue efforts.

Yarrow took the seat that was offered to her and quietly listened as Rhys went off on his list of feats. She instead took an interest in the food and drink around her. The steak she ignored, but the vegitables she took a keen interest in. There was corn, peas, potatoes and bread. Yarrow tried the corn first and found that the sweet taste burst forth into her mouth. She made a note to tell the Thane later that he had an excellent cook.

Keldon made a smirk. "Well I am pleased to hear you know two very close friends of mine. Governor Moonstar is a member of a faction I now have been entrusted to command. Raliric... well there is a man I have known since he was a child. Good man indeed, very close friend and likely to be involved in the city some way or another, and if I know him he will be weather I want him to be or not." Keldon laughed a little, "So tell me Captain, what made you leave your position as Commander of the Guard?" He asked curiously, but very directly.

OOC: Yup some short posts to speed this along, and sorry Yarrow not much to say to you quite yet. ^^

"So tell me Captain, what made you leave your position as Commander of the Guard?" The question finall came.

"Well to be honest I believe I wasn't qualified enough to lead such a large number of men. I'd say my abilities weren't too tested until crime started shoting up and no matter what I did, the situation really didn't get any better; I had many a long sleepless night. Then with the approval of the city coumcil I put in my resignation." explained Rhys.

"It still took a few weeks before my replacement was approved. He was a former colonel in the Legions and had been doing something in the city's political arena but rather take command of the guards since someone with large scale military manpower experience was needed. " taking a sip of wine after he finished, he continued.

"I think I tried walking before I crawled, since I really only led no more than 3 squads of marines before becoming commander in Archadoon."

Nodding his head Keldon listened. "Good enough reason for me Captain, to do any job a man, or women. but be confident in there own abilities. If they are not then they are not suited for that position. It takes far greater character to admit you are not ready for something." Taking a bite of his food Keldon looked to the two, little did they know he was contemplating offer him a position within his own guard at the moment. "So tell me then Captain, what are your passions in life then? Where do you stand know in the grand schem of things?" He said with a smile.

Rhys had taken a few bites from his plate as Keldon was speaking but still was listening intentlly.

"Well my passion is the protection of people, thats why I joined the marines in the first place. My uncle and grandfather had served in teh Imperial Legions, taught me to give to others. Defend the defensless. I want to try to help in bettering things, no matter even if its just a small bit. I feel that right now I'm just an observer to the things going around, its kinda good, but I still disappoints me a bit to watch things. I want to be there and do what I can and not sit idly by."

ic: Yarrow had heard most of this story already, but she listened to what was being said anyway. While she listened she helped herself to the food that was given to her. This really is good food. She thought to herself.

Keldon nodded, "Very Admirable reasons Captain. I myself set out with the intent in helping people. It is why I sit were I am now, to me there is no better place in all of the Empire to help people then as the head of a city. Let alone the second largest one in the Empire. It is nice to see there are still those out there who are willing to defend those who can not, I have seen far to many take advantage of those around them, all for something we call a crown." Keldon sighed briefly and then turned to Yarrow. "So Lieutenant, what is your story then." He said in a warm, tone.
