28th brightening of Immanis, One Candlemark in the afternoon

Roland waited for Sitandria to be cleared through gate customs, then went to freshen up at his villa on Avon Row, a relic of the time he was Justicar here and one of the many bits of real estate he owned around the Empire. After stopping at his villa, he attempted to make the obligatory greeting and offer of congratulations to Sharinya the Fae Queen, now Governess of Primus Gaudeo.
Once obligation was out of the way, Roland headed over to see the new Thane.
He always made it a point to personally meet every new Legion Deputy at least once upon their recruitment, to make sure they were the right material for the Legion and to make sure to personally answer any questions or listen to any comments they might have about joining.

She really wanted to see if her clothes were ready, but, unfortunately, they were already send to her home. Metering to herself, the young female hurried to the gates of the Manor and sow Roland standing there waiting for her.
Sitandria faced the guards "Serale, my name is Sitandria and this is Roland Moonstar. We have come here to see the Thane, Lord Keldon Elsdragon, if that is possible."
|
The guard looked to the two and sighed. "That is lovely you madam, we have had about half a dozen people want to see the Thane, all of which we sent to his office for official business." The guard said with a taint of disappointment in his tone. "What brings you to the Thanes private estate? We can not just allow anyone inside the compound because they simply wish to see the Thane, he is a busy man." Which the guard knew was true, Keldon had been taking part in countless meetings since he arrived in the City and was hardly in one location for long. He looked to the two awaiting a response both guards looking towards them cautiously.

Sitandria signed before answering "Roland Moonstar is the Lieutentant Governor of Carmelyn Province and he would like to see the Thane to congratulate him for his new job. Also, we wanted to talk with him about the Legion of Justice." the young female eyed the guard seriously "Why wouldn't you go and ask Lord Keldon Elsdragon if he can find the time to see us?"

The guards eyes lit up when Sitandria suggested he go and acutely find the Lord Thane and ask him if he would like company. He looked to the two briefly then to the other guards men who was there with him. He aswel looked a little intimidated. Apparently neither guard wanted to meet anyone who controlled their future, or there pay checks. So they nodded towards one another and looked the two over briefly to make sure they where not armed.
The guard who spoke unlatched the lock on the gate and opened it, "Welcome to the Thanal Estate." The thought ran through his head that the estate was yet to officialy be named. It only bore the title 'Thanal Estate' not that of a manor or mansion. Suppose it was another thing on the to-do list of the newly appointed Thane.
When the two got to the door, they would find two more guards who would show them in after asking if they had any weapons. Once inside the main hall a young female elf would ask if they needed any assistance. If they asked she would fetch the lord Thane or bring them to him depending on the Thanes orders.

Sitandria was happy. By mentioning the high-level position that Roland held, they were getting in. It must be wonderful to be so important... she thought and wandered if she would ever be treated like that. The young half-elf moved inside after announcing the guards that she had no weapons.
Sitandria took off her clack and smiled to the elf female. She repeated what she said before to the gourds, introducing her and Roland again and asking if they could see the Thane.

Roland tagged quietly along behind Sitandria, not really paying much attention to his surroundings. He was lost in thought, remembering the various Governors and Thanes and other officials he had met over the years. Some of the more recent encounters were of course do to his position with Aerienne Sarista, but Roland had never let rank or file get between him and where he wanted to go.
Sometimes he had just run into people while walking down a street, as had happened when he first met the Governor of Arium. Other times, he had been forced to deal with a large amount of protocol and rescheduled appointments, as when attempting to meet the Lady Thane of Paxia. A few times he had gone by invitation, and once or twice he had been forced to adopt a fake name and disguise when trying to confront a particularly corrupt Thane, such as just before his successful liberation of Abestat. And on no less than three separate occassions, Roland was the sole survivor of a Thanal bombing or explosion. He'd been Thane and Thane pro tempore himself, and had appointed several others. Not so long ago, a vast majority of elected and appointed officials across Alleria were allied or in allegiance with Roland's faction. But the tides of war and politics are fickle, and yesterday's lord and master is today's has-been. Roland was getting old, and beginning to feel like time was passing him by. It was time to retire or semi-retire to the life of an elder-statesmen, and leave things to the next generation to sort out and muddle through. Such was the cycle of life, and being of honorable alignment, Roland accepted the inevitability of fate if not with gusto, then with a certain amused acceptance.
Roland asked the female half-elf for a glass of red wine. Paxian Red, if possible.

Ambrosia smiled as Roland as for some wine, she nodded head before she turned away. "I will check our stores m'lord, excuse me while I find his Grace and inform him of your presence."
Leaving down a hall way which led towards Keldons private office she knocked on the door quietly, until Keldons voice informed her to enter. He was in a meeting with the Head Aedile of the city in regards to some vacant buildings within the city that he wanted to use as the Headquarters for the Legion of Justice.
Keldons desk was lined with various papers, however they were organized in very neatly laid out piles of paper regarding the topics they were about. Situated infront of his chair was a pile of papers, containing deeds, and various other statements about the buildings he was intressted in using. Many of them where owned by dwarven nobles and various other figures within the city.
"Pardon me your grace, but Lord Roland Moonstar, the Lieutenant Governor of Carmelyn is here to see you. He has a traveling companion with him aswel." She said with a smile. Keldon had made sure the house staff where for the most part informal with him in private and he did not worry about the Head Aedile seeing that aswell. "Thank you," He said with a smile in return. "Please show them to my office," He said looking back to his guest. "We will need to continue this meeting another time I am afraid. It has been a pleasure speaking with you and hopefully together we can bring great things to the city. As the Head Aedile I will come to rely on you for a wide variety of things." Keldon stood up and shook the Aedile's hand and the Aedile left the room Keldon looked around his office making sure everything was in order. This was not his official office but he did a large portion of his work here.
Ambrosia returned to Roland, and Sitandria. "Please follow me," He would say softly leading them to Keldons private office and through the doors. Where Keldon would be standing beside his desk with a smile on his face. He would greet them with a hello and welcome to the city, Giving a small bow to Roland.
OOC: Sorry about that guys, thought I replied to this already.

Sitandria waited patient while Roland talked about his wine. After the elf had returned, she followed her to the hallway and entered the office. While Keldon greeted her and Roland, the young female's brown eyes scanned the room, trying to find clues to the new recruit's personality. The office was clean and the papers that leid on the desk were well-organized. She recorded this small bit of information in her organized mind and turned to look at the Thane of Primus Gaudeo.
He was an elf, taller then she was, and very attractive. So far, all that she sow was typical for a member of the elven race, but he looked also muscular, which was kind of a surprise to the young female. Her eyes narrowed a little, deciding that he was a worrier of some kind. Those powerful-looking arms of his didn't come from sitting in the garden or playing around with musical tools. No, he wasn't the typical elf, right? The elven race did fight, but usually used bows and light weapons. This kind of fighting didn't build the muscles of the elfs and they usually relied of their speed in combat.
No, this elf was using other weopons... He was strong and fast... A deadly combination for those who will try to oppose him, but did he had the power of the mind and the wisdom to use his skills efficiently? That was still to see.
Sitandria nodded her head toward Keldon. She didn't feel the need to bow toward him. He was a Thane of a city just as she was one. He was a Deputy of the Legion just as she was. They were equal in that sense.
Her voice come out clear "Serale, Deputy Keldon Elsdragon." As she didn't give her full name and position to the female and the guards before, she added "I am Sitandria, Guild Treasurer of the Legion of Justice and the Thane of Archadoon." The last title must be surprising to Roland as she didn't tell him about this before...

As the pair entered Keldon bowed his head down fully towards Roland in a sign of respect for both positions the man held. Although within this Province he held no authority what so ever, it was only courtesy for the position. "Serale your Excellency, and welcome to my home." He said with a warm tone in his voice that would give the impression to anyone whose ears where trained that he had the ability to be pleasant, warm, compassionate, but when the situation demanded it his tone of voice could shift to that of a leader, confident in himself. When his head rose from the symbol of respect his eyes glanced to Sitandria, he noticed her eyes moving over him, likely inspecting who he was, in a attempt to judge his character.
Keldon decided to shift the mood of her rather obvious inspect of him ever so slightly, his confidence in who he was would become apparent. His mouth opened as he walked forward towards the two, his hands falling together as his body moved underneath his red silk shirt and black doublet. He gave a half bow to Sitandria just as he stopped several feet in front of Roland. "Serale M'lady, Sitandria. Congratulations on your appointment to Thaneship. After the recent events there Archadoon will need strong leadership. However it pleases me that his Imperial Excellency Palacrisis selected a creature of such beauty to restore a great city to its former glorious status." Keldon said with a soft warm tone, and a gentle smile.
OOC: I suppose we can have a small introduction before I ask what brings Roland and yourself to the city. Hey, a little flattery is always good. ^^

Roland lifted his glass and toasted Sitandria on her new title and position. "Congratulations, your grace. I came here today to celebrate the ascension of one person to the Thaneship, and here I am actually congratulating both of you. Good job."
Roland spoke a toast in a human native dialect that neither elf was familiar with, a lush, lilting language where both sorrow and joy could be expressed in stronger words than in the human common tongue. Once he was done, he lifted his glass to both Keldon and Sitandria, saluted them both, then spent a few minutes toasting Sharinya, Palacris, God, crown, king, and Looie.
He said little of consequence after that, and merely cheerfully stared down at his glass, filling it from the wine bottle should it empty.

Sitandria smiled toward Roland as he rambled something in a language she didn't know and cast her brown eyes of the attractive-looking elf. Yes, he was good-looking, but Roland looked better. She glanced at Roland again and signed.
He is really into drinking... Lyr was right after all
Sitandria nodded her head gently toward Keldon and said pleasantly, enjoying his compliment "Imperial Excellency Palacrisis selected me for many more qualities, other then beauty, Lord Thane." Compliments were fine, but she wasn't going to let everyone think that that was the only reason she had got the job...

Palacrisis
Keldon noted Roland, to him it appeared he was either having a very hard time in life. Or more likely he was a drunk, he was ready to say something when the comment from Sitandria caught his ear. "Indeed M'lady, His Excellency does know how to pick the correct people for the position he needs to fill." He said with a smile. "Although beauty has its advantage it any political position, and with the recent events in Archadoon a symbole of beauty in the position that will help lead the city into the new era is a sybolic, and moral boosting factor towards the people... but enough politics, I am sure you both have not come here to discuss our roles in the Empires Government. Or perhaps so," He said with a very well spoken voice.
Stepping aside motioning towards the chairs at a small lounge area infront of the fireplace. "Please, have a seat," He would say with a nod of his head and move to take a seat near under the mantal of the fireplace.

An odd look came into Roland's eye, as of a man who need to yank off his glasses and run to the nearest phonebooth or of a dog that smells trouble on the wind and has to go off and bark at it. Sitandria would have seen that look before: ever since Roland and Odyleon had made sure that all Marshalls learn the maximum amound of Mysticism possible, the Lt. Governor was a fellow who hopscotched around the Empire at a moments notice. Now seemed like one such moment.
Roland shook his head. "Thank you for your time and attention, Thane Elsdragon. I will leave you to chat with Sitandria, Thane to Thane. I only came by to offer my congratulations, and now I have done so."
He appraised Keldon for a moment, then nodded approvingly. "I am sure you will do well here in Primus Gaudeo. Centripax is a province that well rewards the loyalty of those who serve it."
Roland turned to Sitandria then. "Palacris D'Jones is a fine judge of character. I stayed out of all deliberations because of our close association in Diana, and I did not want anyone to say I influenced Palacris or that you got the position out of nepotism. You will do fine, and I know for a fact that Aerienne Sarista enjoys working with you a great deal."
Roland spent the better part of a candlemark tossing around various well-meaning blandishments, complimenting both Keldon and Sitandria and telling them amusing anecdotes about his time as Thane of Tearsfall with an orc, a hobag-- a winged woman, but not Allerian-- and Ality and Lyr. "Always make sure your staff has the best training and experience," was how he ended, a serious note that he wanted to give to both neophyte Thanes. "And now my apologies. Perhaps I will come by this way later, but I have some business on Avon Row I must take care of. Thank you again, Thane Eldragon for your time and hospitality."
Bowing courteously, Roland gave a dignified wave to the Thanes. "By your leave."

Sitandria nodded her head and sat down. Roland started one of lectures again and she listened without disturbing him. When he finished she smiled "I will keep that in mind Roland. I agree with you completely of the staff issue. I always try to find the best people for the job, but the most important part for me is that I could trust them."
The young female said goodbye to Roland and then turned her eyes toward Keldon "You are right in that that I haven't come here to discuss our jobs and politics. My reason for coming was mainly to meet the Legion's new recruit." she smiled softly "The Legion of Justice had been over a few hard times in the last months, but I think that with good people we can bring it back to it's rightful place."

Keldon was sitting in his chair looking at the two by the time Roland started his lecture. He just sat there listening, he was paying attention but he was also looking down at the papers on his desk from time to time checking over various details on the documents, some regarding the city and others regarding the estate he had wished to purchase.
"Farewell Roland, I would like to speak to you before you leave the city however as there are some concerns I would like to address. But as that is a political conversation I suppose we can hold it until another time." Tilting his head as the man started to leave the room. Turning his attention back to Sitandria. "Ah yes, that is what I presumed the conversation and both of your visit was for." Leaning back into his chair he smiled.
