Druhkun stood only a meager eight feet tall but what he lacked in stature he made up for with an insane physique that would make even rak envious. He weighed around the ball park of 900 pounds all of which was intense muscle mass, every inch of his gargantuan body bulged out inflamed with power and strength befitting a giant. His belittling frame was ripped, cut and highly defined like that of a professional body builder he was an amiable juggernaut if ever there was one to roam the realm of telath much less the streets of vortex.

But what made Druhkun truly fearsome was because he was a martial artist, he leaned more towards a bare handed berserker but a brawler all the same. Not a whole lot of style in his style it was just a blend of rage and utterly overpowering blows that plowed through his adversaries like a steam powered siege engine. You just dont get that snap crackle pop sound with a sword.

He walked tall through the streets without the slightest care in the world, he was adamant and unforgiving if something or someone got in his way they would quickly find themselves on the ground or worse trampled by this towering bruiser. Frail elves.

Druhkun was looking for employment in vortex, one where his physical prowess would allow him to excell and advance easily. Being a city guard may have its perks but maybe he was looking to much at the small time. Maybe he could be a patrol captain and have his own people and a better salary, there was still the thought of being a body guard or a collecter for those less then reputable people. Even the notion of being a gang member excited him, he just wanted an excuse to show the world his monstrous might.

He wasn't going to search those jobs out, he was probably the largest strongest man in vortex he would let employers find him which wouldnt be that hard at all.

Roland was walking down the streets of Vortex when he spotted the giant. As a priest of Rak, he respected physical strength, and had used his own super-strength to impress the citizens of Paxia not very long ago, to reassure them that they now had a champion to protect them. Everyone but Duncan Sythe was assured, but Sythe was master of the mystic arts and had agreed to offer his own talents to aid Paxia.

Even so, Roland missed having Atlus around: the giant on his payroll was busy chopping down trees in the Arium wilderness, and that left Paxia with a gap. Perhaps here now was someone who could fill the void.

Roland paused in front of the giant. "Serale, my good man, I am Lord Protector Roland Moonstar of Paxia. I seek able-bodied individuals who are not afraid of danger, to help me tame a town overrun with orcs and mercenaries, strewn with rubble, and otherwise in need of men of strength and courage."

He pointed north. "I speak of course of Paxia, here in Arium province, so you will be able to return here to Vortex as you wish to conduct whatever business and dealings you have going on here."

Roland then gestured in the direction of the highlands. "Should city life not be your style, you are welcome House Moonstar on an expedition where we seek out the dungeons and ruins of the Arium wilderness as we seek the next site for the Temple of Rak. But come along only if your heart is as strong as your arms, for there may be dangers most heinous and horrible, sights that will drive a grown man mad."

For many of an unscrupulous sort pickpocketing is a very viable source of income however for this young curly haired woman to her the risks versus reward does not add up to few coins for a few broken bones. There are much better ways of reducing risk like waiting till everyone is asleep, or even begging, which is what she happens to be doing at this moment. Granted the area is a bit to snobbish to just be handing out crowns to common urchins though earning a few here and there is a much better solution then earning a bit of steel between the ribs.

Here is a much nicer part of Vortex where wanton violence and crime did not pump through the streets as it's ebbing lifeblood. Here there are more merchants and even a few nobles living so few and far between that the common rabble probably outnumbered them over a thousand to one here. But it's not like they cared about the city or the people around them. Only how heavier their coffers get from the back of illicit trade, a part of her wanted to lash out at them for their black hearts could have fixed the cities plagues it seemed however that the nobles would rather wallow in their own filth.

Brilliant fluorescent eyes set in a face that betrayed the look of youth turned toward an enormous bulk lumbering gracelessly through her city pushing through the miniature figures in a brutish manner. A great towering sod who's body language told Obalym that to him the people around him were frail twigs as if a powerful body made him that much better than everyone else. Her eyes pulled in the wrong direction setting the two burning orbs of telath flooding her vision with wrathful glee.

The light made her slink back into the safety of a shadowed alleyway flinching away from the glare of midday the same way an abused dog would flinch away from it's beastly master. Her back set up against a wall which gave her a perfect view of the hulking behemoth. Petite hands folded exploring the depths of her large trench coat until she finds the home of her dagger it slides up cool death resting upon her forearm nestled deep with her sleeve. Her arms fold as the giant passes, after all she is just another urchin of Vortex lingering in the unforgiving embrace of the streets.

Practically slithering from her zone of safety she padded round the corner when the giant passed; easily his heavy movements became tracked. Though she paused as another figure approached Introducing himself as the Lord Protector of Paxia or some other such nonsense. Who knows maybe the noble would be noble enough to spare her some money. From behind she approached the odd pair her voice preceding her far before her visage came to identification. "Lord Protector of Paxia. I am curious is it your job to go around fixing the troubles of Aruim? Well you see if it is i would like to put in a request. I have lived in the ruins of southern Vortex for about eighteen patterns. I'm sorry if i am feeling...Cold to their plight" The cold biting tones of an urban native continued to sew through each syllable "Well perhaps you could convince the nobles of Vortex that fixing the ruins of the whole southern half of this misbegotten city is in a bit of disrepair."

She shrugs moving pas the lord protector just enough so she could look him in the eye below her wide brimmed hat. "Lord Protector...sounds noble. Notable. I am curious...Are you noble?"

Weakness was something that Druhkun found disgusting, and who was a meager street urchin to second guess this mammoth power house? For a lumbering sod, he was infinitely more important in the eyes of those around him then a meager stick up artist. In this city it was fear that controlled the population, his vast seemingly limitless strength would grant him a kings ransome in this cavernous pit because he could inspire and distill terror into the hearts of those around him. It was not his mindset to be evil, but those around Druhkun desired to use him as a weapon to murder there enemies. It was on this same principle of business that made his powerful arms a valuable resource, surely you could not overlook the demand for enforcers by tyrants and matrons who wished to keep there stranglehold within the city.

Druhkun had paid close attention to Roland as he spoke to him about paxian affairs, it was surprising that people still actually lived there. From the rumors and gossip that he had gathered Paxia was nothing more then a smoldering crater. It was a decent job offer and Druhkun would have been foolish not to take him up on it. But there was a lot of razzle dazzle in moonstars words for what he really needed, which was a mercenary to crush skulls and break bones.

"Send word to me when you are ready, and we will go."

After speaking he smiled at Roland, it was certainly turning out to be a good brightening for him. The job offer was made and excepted, now it was just a matter of time. It seemed that Roland was finished with him, and then a curious halfling happened to stumble upon the lord protector himself looking for spare change. He was unaware that Obalym had been stalking him, thus he really did not have much to say but even then Obalym was to busy trying to catch the attention of a politician of some notority. Of course had Druhkun known of this womans treacherous intentions towards him, he would have broken her neck on the spot and left her as a snack for the crows to pick at. But Obalym was smart, and talented at what she did so there was no way he could have forseen the danger.

Druhkun was pretty certain that he was finished thus the lumbering sod continued his journey towards Harloth.

Roland nodded at the big man. "Done and done. I shall see you shortly."

He then turned to Obalym Poe. Sadly, he had to shake his head. "No, to all your questions, I am afraid. If you are looking for an organization that goes around solving all the problems of the world, then you must look for 'The Legion of Justice.' If you have a truly valid complaint about something in Arium, you must go to Nexus Prime and speak with the Governor. It is his job to straighten out the affairs of Arium. If he's doing a very bad job of it... you wouldn't be the first to think so."

He shrugged. "Here in Vortex, you must speak to Thane Amber Brightwing.
Thane Brightwing is in charge of the problem you spoke of. I am not friends enough with the Thane that I would have any better luck talking to her about this than you would if you approached her directly."

He shook his head again. "I am sorry. My goal right now is simply helping Paxia, and some of the lands around Paxia. If you are looking for a job and a future, you are welcome to come with me. But as to Vortex itself, the Moonstar you want to meet is Tylag Moonstar. He is looking to do something here, and is someone you should seek out when he arrives."

Roland's response seemed odd it took her considerably long to really comprehend what his words truly meant. The mans honesty and altruism worn upon his words honorably, it didn't take her long to formulate something with this man. He could be used to gain an advantage survival and many other things. Though oddly enough Obalym herself has the heavy streak of altruism as well. The voice of her actions when dealing with someone like Dimitri is proof enough of that. Although that very human altruism came coated with vysstichi venom.

"Well your right i don't think the governor is doing a very good job. Vortex and Paxia are both suffering, i doubt he feels the bite of the winters chill in his luxurious station."

She turns herself taking just a step closer to Roland, from this distance it's easy to tell the intricate details of Roland's face. The color of his facial hairs and the texture of his eyebrows with everything in between. "However the opportunity for work does interest me, and i would be more than happy to start my travels of the empire. Unfortunately my visa is no longer with me due to extenuating circumstances. My name's Obalym, not that i can prove it but thats my name."

Roland nodded. "That does seem to be a problem of late." He grinned, thinking about it. "You are perhaps the fifth person I've met this month who has lost his or her visa."

He shrugged. "I blame it on the Orc War. All the fires, the ruin and rubble, and various disasters have done a number on people's documents. It is no surprise that so many are missing credentials." He shrugged again. "There's nothing I can do for you here in Vortex in regards to that, but if you come to Paxia at any point this season, even if just for a day or two, I can have the Aedile make you up a substitute Visa."

Roland looked at Obalym carefully. "As to work.. what to do? Or what are you interested in doing? I've also found myself arranging a few training classes for people with enthusiasm but who lacked experience."

Lost wouldn't exactly be the best choice of words when it comes to her visa. It was a trade plain and simple, she gave Dimitri her visa so the man could keep her under thumb because of that trust was established. Well at least Dimitri trusted Obalym to keep up her part of the bargain. The half vyssi however didn't trust the dark man as far as she could throw him; with the consideration that she couldn't even throw her gracious host."So Lord Protector, you would be willing to help with a temporary Visa. How do you know an urchin like me didn't trade my own visa away for money or even worse? I mean what could be worth someones visa"

She laughed, the cold sharp sound somehow lifted a mirthfull light upon a flourescent visage "But i would need help leaving the city in the first place in order to get my temporary visa. I don't thinnk the gaurds would let a commoner without a visa leave." A devious smile came to her features a smile that fit far to naturally upon her ashen grey tones. "Well if there was only some way i could have a noble Lord Protector vouch for me. Then i could leave to Paxia and help those poor misbegotton souls." She moved again placing her body in the shadow of the thick masonworked structure. Perhaps the creature is paranoid of some unseen danger or maybe it's just out of habit.

"As for work, well i have a few Interests. I am curious does paxia have a locksmith? Not that there is much need to lock up your...rubble there. One question if you would be willing to grace me Lord Protector. What exactly are you doing here in Vortex if your looking for something or someone. Well you have the right person in front of you for that service."

Roland broke into a broad grin. "How do I know you didn't trade away your visa? How do I know? Because I can read ..." Roland snapped his fingers.

A moment had passed. Or perhap it hadn't. Roland snapped his fingers again.

"People. I'm very good at reading people. And you strike me exactly as the type of person I'm looking for, Ravenna Kraus." Roland held up the Visa with that exact name on it.

"Ravenna Kraus is the reason I came to Vortex. A sad and tragic tale, a cousin-- sister to my cousin Leon-- who was kidnapped at birth and forced to live a life of depravity and decadence in Vortex. I have now rescued her from that unfortunate circumstance.

For I do indeed have need of a good locksmith, someone not adverse to a bit of climbing, a bit of digging, a bit of sleight-of-hand." He smiled at her. "But of course, that comes secondary to my desire for a reunited family."

Did he snap his fingers twice or perhaps it was once, she couldn't tell her insticts roiled in her stomach telling her something supernatrual occured. Though what she could not tell, for her own senses did not extend to that realm of bieng. Perhaps nothing at all happened or maybe it was just a small bout of her occasional paranoia, the feeling however was dismissed as pink eyes watched the last traces of an enormous fleeting figure heading toward Har'oloth. It's a bit of information she'd stow away for later.

Her focused returned to the lord at hand perhaps placating him with a smile that is far to sweet for the darkborns features. "So you have saved her? Yet you have her visa you make it sound as if she is dead. And the only thing you have saved is her memory" Not that his Ravenna Kraus could be her Ravenna Poe. She knew her mother had changed her surname but the half Vyssi never knew why, apparantly her older brother knew and had never told her. But it made her heart jump regardless it's an odd coincidence, to say the least however her mother is dead and she certainly isn't saved.

"Climing, digging, and slieght of hand? Why what ever would a noble have use for such unscrupulous activities such as that? But if that is what your looking for i might be able to provide that service for you. Unless of course there is someone else your looking for in Vortex?"

Roland merely nodded. "I will answer all your questions, but not here and now. A street with giants and rogues free to walk upon it is a street where the walls have ears. For now, it is enough that we have met and appear to agree on this matter."

He gave obalym directions to his house in Vortex, as well as his houses in Paxia and Nexus Prime. "Let us talk more when we are truly alone and can discuss things without fear of interruption." He glanced at her. "If that is all right with you? Someone adept at sleight of hand and other such skills can surely see the value in my suggestion, yes?"
