Meeting with a Mystic (Vers, Private, Erenthril)

IC: "Isn't it a very nice office... so might i ask where you came from? You said you were from all over the place, but you look Sylrosian to me... Is that where you were born?" queried the mystic, curious to learn about the archmage that had stumbled into Vers' grasp. It wasn't every day something like this happened, and since Sirus had never actually met an archmage, his curiosity was going to get the best of him that day...

"I'm Syl'rosyian, yes," Erenthril spoke as he settled more comfortably into his seat. He had every intention of shying away from personal questions - he hadn't attained Archmagus at the tip of a hat, after all, and had acquired a few enemies in the process. Most noted, of course, being an Archmystic, but now that Eren had the assets to properly defend himself, he was a bit more easy around practicioners of that particular subtype of Arcana. Still though, he wasn't going to let this turn into an interrogation.

Even those with the best of intentions had talked his ear off before.

"What days will the Master duels be scheduled? And do you have an idea of how many will be participating?" he queried in a light yet firm tone, smile on his face. After all, Sirus was going to be a contestant - and he'd have to maintain at least a degree of impartiality where judging was concerning.

"As it was listed on the agenda, the Master duels are going to start on the 35th of Kalendryas, and last for about two to three days. Depending on how many masters join of course. I know that i'll be participating, as well as the Ikos Master, Rosalind, and most of the other masters in this academy. Hopefully some masters outside of the academy will be participating in it... but if it's just us, we don't mind one bit..." he said, smiling, and preparing himself a glass of elven wine. Just because Eren had turned down the offer of some find elven wine, doesn't mean Sirus couldn't have any...

“Ah, I see, forgive me – I’ve forgotten a little considering the display your Elven counterpart put on for me,” he spoke, massaging his temples lightly when Sirus mentioned the date and recording it to memory. He’d be in town then, it seemed – he certainly wasn’t going to be staying for any prolonged period of time. Perhaps the night before, he considered, a portal would suffice and he’d walk into town. And of course during the duration of the Master duels.

But an Ikomancer?

“Hmm. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting any of the upper echelons practicing Ikos – I’ll be eager to see how her spells might work in any aggressive capacity,” he offered with a short canter of his head and smile upon seeing Sirus pull out a bottle of elven wine. It did indeed look appetizing, but the Elf had learned to be prudent of himself when in the company of strangers. “Though do tell me more of these Elemental Trials you’re hosting. At first, I thought they were designed for Elementalists,” he admitted with a bit of a laugh and sheepish grin.

"Basically, for the elemental trials, a group goes into the room, and they see this orb sitting upon a pedestal. They are instructed to attempt to take the orb. That is the entire goal. When they try to take it, they will be thrust into a world inside their minds, and all of the people in the room will have their minds linked. In this world anything they can imagine is possible, but their entire goal to win the game is to get the orb. Basically the orb will be in the world with them, but they'll have to travel through hell to get it. Once they've retrieved it, they'll awaken, as if nothing ever happened, but retain all of the memories of their adventure... it's quite exciting, me and a few of the other masters tested it out..." he explained...

“Ah, interesting. Sort of a pseudo playground for one’s mind, no?” he asked, wondering what the adventurers inside the Elemental Trials would summon up. If the challenge picked things off from their minds, then it was almost entirely contained between those whom participated. Eren was quietly thankful he hadn’t signed up for such; the things in his mind were true horrors. Few had lived and survived the multiple encounters that would be perfect horror stories before bedtime; at points, Eren had lived through entire nightmares dreamlessly.

“I suspect that will be an intriguing aspect of the festival, not so much for the audience I suspect, but those involved, certainly,” he remarked offhandedly, bringing his hand up to rub his left forearm inconspicuously as he eyed the Master Mystic. He briefly contemplated whether or not Sirus had any other requests to make of him for the time being; everything seemed rather sorted out, for the most part. They had a time and date, a role to be played, and the stage was already set. The only thing missing at this point was a performance.

"Ah, that's also the beauty of the orb that we've created and enchanted. It will be able to play back the adventurer from each of the participant's point of view into the minds of an audience after they have completed their adventure! I swear, it's one of the most miraculous things that we've invented in Vers so far, and i'm sure it shall attract many arcanically inclined people to the city..." said the Master Mystic, glad that he could have been apart of the creation of such an item, which was one of a kind, and guarded by several high ranking mages, but never staying with the same mage for more than a brightening or two...

“Oh really?” and it was at this point that the Elementalist began to show serious consideration and interest in the Elemental Trials. The ability to tap into someone’s mind was commonplace trickery and sleight of hand for Mysticism, but to conjure up the illusions that depicted what they thought…well, that was more beneficial. Sort of a broader, large-scale usage that Eren felt that particular sphere lacked far too often.

“That is rather phenomenal, then. Between that and the centerpiece of the festival, I’d say you have done a rather decent job. I’m almost tempted for you to come out to my Chateau and enchant something similar to what you placed in the center of all the festivities,” he grinned bemusedly. Not that he’d ask, of course. That was stretching the line a bit. But nonetheless, he felt some degree of respect and compliment was due. After all, Sirus and his cohorts seemed to have most definitely earned it.

"Yes, it is quite a phenomenol construction. Me and the two other Master Mystics plus a few journeyman worked on the enchantment and imbuement of things to make it work correctly. Just needs a bit of arcanic maintenance every so often when the imbuements are up, but all and all it's perfect for what we want it to be..." he said. As he spoke certain thoughts occured to him, and then he wondered if Erenthril knew about the war. "So, Have you heard anything about the war?" he asked, curious to know if Erenthril had any experience with it thus far...
