Imaden School of Higher Learning: Facultie Arcana (Vers)
North of the Entrance Hall lay the Facultie Arcana, considered by many to be the most prominent and best-funded area of the School. The passageway opened onto a very long hallway that made up for its lack of width by having the impressively-decorated ceiling far overhead. Ornate and expensive-looking chandeliers threw warm, rich light onto passers-by far below after pracenda, and one would start wondering not only how anyone could afford such a construction but also who was responsible for lighting and replacing the candles. Any individual entering would not have time to ponder such matters, as the ever-increasing flow of human traffic meant that they would have to watch where one was going.
It seemed such a modern facility for the construction was decorative yet practical, and it seemed to be focusing on creating a happier working environment for the staff and a bright and cheerful place for the students. For one thing, there were no paintings of various rich and distinguished patrons and heads-of-staff festooning the walls; rather, much of the available space was taken up by huge windows of glass. Proper, clean-cut perfectly-see-through glass, not the cheaper crystal imitation. Fresh light would stream through during the brightening, challenging and defying the standard Gothic-religious design that seemed to be present in many of the larger constructions in the Empire. Vers prided itself on being individual, and in this case had taken the best of two worlds and incorporated the sturdy architecture of cathedrals along with the practicality and individuality of a proper Versian building.
At the end of the hall was a long, raised desk, along which multiple bespectacled and snooty-looking figures were assisting a string of inquirers. Their chairs were raised also, so that they were able to look down on people with a proper air of regality. As one slightly-cowed person would shuffle off, the respective attendant would look down on the crowds and yell, politely, of course, "Next!" with an empty parchment in hand, each decorated with empty spaces for the applicant to fill:

Galdor entered the school he was shocked and amazed at the simplicity of the schools architecture. As he came apon the 'inquisition' as what they appeared to be. They handed him a piece of parchment and request he fill it out. Taking a few moments he quickly jotted down the required information.

Name: Galdor Feiniel

He was about to hand back the piece of parchment and noticed the signs behind the 'inquisition'.
Costs
400 - Initiate, without room and board
700 - Initiate, with room and board
He opened up his coin purse to pay but noticed he was 200 crowns shy of being able to pay for room and board.
"Excuse me sir, it seems I am a bit short of 700 gold crowns."
Then he noticed that there were scholarships and work study positions available.
"I am sorry to bother you again sir, but it would appear I need to inquire about your work study positions and scholarships available. As well as being unbound I do believe is the correct terminology for it."
Hopefully this school would help him out, because no one else would in his life. Galdor anxiously awaited the 'inquistors' response.

Galdor
He was not an "Inquisitor" but a younger man, named John Sylkin, who looked towards the elf that had just appeared infront of him with his form. Letting his eyes scan it for a moment, he looked up, and then said, "My my, elementalism? Great sphere choice! I happen to be one of the tutors in the arcanomechanics behind it. Although, i was never able to be unbound, it didn't stop me from learning about it. Anyways, I'm sure that we can set you up with a job, and prepare to get your unbound? Perhaps you'd like to work in the school's cafeteria? I'm sure they could use an extra hand there, cleaning dishes and whatnot. Perhaps even teach you a bit of cooking? I know the head chef... As for being unbound, let me fill out a bit of paperwork, and then we'll get you on your way!"
He smiled, and then began to jot down some things, making sure not to miss anything in the acceptance paperwork. Once he finished, he handed the sheet of paper to Galdor, and then said, "You'll be in room B251... that's in the B building, second floor, room 251. And your first class in Elementalism, as well as your unbinding will be in room A225 with the Adept teacher, Ros Kinl. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!" Continuing to smile, he waited to see if the elf had any other questions for him.
OOC: I'll create a thread for your Unbinding and Initiate Training. If you have any other thoughts upon where you might want to do your work-study at, just ask John about it, otherwise, the kitchen, and dishwashing will be fine.

Galdor smiled at the 'inquistor', not knowing his name yet. "Thank you sir for your help. As for the work study... is there perhaps a field dealing more with paper work than kitchen tasks. Perhaps helping out here organizing students and directing them to where they need to go?"
Galdor looked over the paperwork, as he waited for a response from Mr. Sylkin.
"Mr. Sylkin, I do have one question. Where am I to be quartered at? And this does not state what time I am to present myself to Professor Kinl."
Galdor was both anxious and nervous at the same time. Galdor's hands were shaking slightly due to his anticipation of finally being accepted somewhere. Somewhere that he might be able to some day call home. Pushing a stray hair back into place he again awaited for Mr. Sylkin's response.

"Oh, i'm sorry for not being entirely clear, you'll be quartered in room B251," he said, smiling, and then he pointed to the piece of paper he had handed the young man. "And if the kitchen doesn't suit you... well, you can work here with me if you want?" Looking at the sylrosian elf, he then continued, "Pay would be 20 crowns per cycle, and you'd be taking care of the front desk and the students registering with us. If you need any help, feel free to give me a holler..." He would then quickly fill out the paperwork for Galdor to work at the front desk taking in students. "If any student wishes to do Master training, let me know, so that i can take care of them, otherwise, good luck!"
OOC: Okay, you'll be moderating this location now, for your job. Basically, do what I just did with your character. If they need the student-work thing, let John know (PM me about it), and we'll get that all straightened out.

Carly had been in town a brightening before she headed to the school, putting on a black dress, a waist coat with inside pockets, and wrapping a scarf around her neck before leaving the inn. It was on this day that she would seek out a promotion to Master, though she fully anticipated being tested in some manner. Just to be sure the masters would be more accomodating she had tucked her identification papers into a pocket inside the waist coat. Being the Ikos advisor had to have some sort of pull over Rosalinda, though she saw her own talents as more then enough to deserve a promotion. She had been working on not only her own mind, but on her skills as an artists for many eras now.
She headed straight for the Faculty of Arcana, gliding through the long hall and right up to the desk. Though she respected her fellow mages, she was still appalled at the conditions they had treated the Ikomancers too last time she was here. The room memory of the room still stuck in her memory as cramped, dusty, and filled with refuse. The adolescent elf smiled across the desk at the clerk, remembering it as being much higher last time. She was certainly enjoying being taller.
"Vedui, I was hoping to speak to Rosalinda over the matter of promotion to Master."

Sylkin:
"Thank you sir for clarifying everything for me. I can get started right away!" Placing his forms into his pouch that held his crowns, Galdor spent the next few hours getting to know the routine of the registration desk as well as the location of all the paper work. This was more definately up his ally rather than working in the kitchen boiling water.
Carly:
Galdor was sitting behind the counter sorting out papers and preparing his workstation to a more suitable manner to him. After speaking with some of the other registration officials briefly, though many of them seemed to ignore him or look down upon him because he was 'new' caused a little bit of discouragement. Then things changed; in walked another elf wearing nothing but black. She looked stunning and very regal.
" Good day madame how may I help you?" Galdor iquired.

the female elf asked.
"I am sorry madama but I am not familiar with that person, however if you would like I can let you talk to Mr. Sylkin my superior. May I inquire as to what area you are wanting to get your promotion to Master in?" Galdor hoped that he had not offeneded the lady, for that was the last thing he wanted to do.

Carly sighed visibly, rolling her eyes in a manner that suggested that not only was the clerk incompetent, but his incompetence was probably due to being beaten around the head multiple times as a child. She stepped closer to the desk and leaned foward so that the points of her carnivirous teeth were that much more obvious to her land walking cousin of an elf.
"Madame Rosalinda was, and should still be the resident Master of Ikos here, which is the area I seek promotion in. But since you are fetching your 'superior', you may want to tell him I am the Ikos advisor to the Imperial Magus."

"Carly, you shouldn't be so tough on him, he just started working here today from what i understand..." The voice came from behind her, and if she were to turn around, she would see a little cether standing there looking up at her. "My my, did you get taller? You did! since the last time i saw you! It's good to see you again, what is it I can help you with today?" she asked Carly. It was definitely Rosalind, the cether that the elf had been searching for that very brightening...

Carly spun around as a delighted grin grew upon her face at the sound and sight of her old teacher, she gave a half bow, half curtsy to the cether before going into business.
"I've come to see about getting a promotion to Master level, since getting the job as Ikos Advisor to the Imperial Magus I feel I've been involved in a lot more discussions and magical business. And I'd like to be seen as an equal not just because of my job title, but because of my achievements." She prattled on, wondering inwardly at what a lucky coincidence this was.

Rosalind looked towards Carly for a moment, then said, "I believe that we can do something about this! Ikos Advisor to the Imperial Magus certainly is a grand achievement... Follow me, i'll have to talk to a few of the other teachers, but being the Ikos Advisor, i doubt they'll have little complaints about helping you out with your query..." She then led Carly to another part of the school, where they could discuss it more personally, and with a few of the other teachers.

Carly followed after Rosalinda, drinking in the environment of the newly opened school and making mental notes on the changes to the decor, how many students there were, what the teachers looked like, and such. She didn't say much as they walked, instead preferring to let an air of 'authority' grow between them. She knew the cether was a chatty woman, but this was somewhat a serious business.

As the cether led Carly down the hallway, she looked up at her, and began to speak, breaking the silence in between them. "Well well, you're awefully silent, I know being serious about this is good, but you shouldn't be so serious that your face is contorting. It'll give you wrinkles!" she said, grinning a bit at her little joke. "So, anyways, we'll be doing your training first, and then testing you, and finally promoting you... After I speak with a few of the other masters that is. They shouldn't have a problem with it..." They then walked a little ways, and finally arrived at their destination. Making Carly wait outside of the door to the room, Rosalinda went in, and then came out about five minutes later. "Everything is set!" she said. "We'll start your training tomorrow morning, meet me at this office then, and we shall begin."
OOC: Steve has permitted me to do the training, and the testing, while he watches. Sorry for the late, my posting will be a little slow as school is getting hectic. I'll start a new thread for the training. If there is any problems, please PM me about it, and i'll see what I can do. Thanks!

Lyssoryl entered the hall with her eyes wide, as if expecting a ghost to pounce on her at any moment. She tugged her masses of blonde hair back and tied a ribbon around it before she approached the desk and filled out the form.
Name: Lyssoryl
Age: 31
Race: Halfling
Previous Schooling: Schola
Desired course of study: Song
Room and Board Needed: Yes Please!
Standing on tip-toe, she handed the paper across the desk. She cleared her throat and said "I do have tuition, but I should very much be interested in work study if it could be arranged. I'd not like to leave here without enough coins to clink together, and it is likely I shall have to purchase a few musical instruments while I'm here. I'm quite handy about the kitchen if there is an opportunity in that direction. My specialty is getting the most out of inexpensive foods."

Galdor had to stand up to greet the halfling. "Serale, and welcome to Imaden." Handing her the form to fill out and waiting for her to return it he filed other papers away. A few moments later the halfling returned the form, taking it he quickly read over it:

Galdor was about to speek when the halfling spoke up. "I do have tuition, but I should very much be interested in work study if it could be arranged. I'd not like to leave here without enough coins to clink together, and it is likely I shall have to purchase a few musical instruments while I'm here. I'm quite handy about the kitchen if there is an opportunity in that direction. My specialty is getting the most out of inexpensive foods."
Nodding, "I am sure something can be arranged for the work study. I will need to talk to Mr. Sylkin regarding that matter as I am too a student here, however he has stepped out to lunch right now. He should be back shortly." Looking through the available rooms the school had to offer he located one that was vacant. "Now, you will be in room C138... that is building C" Galdor pointed in the general direction of the building "First floor, room 138. Now give me a moment to locate your classroom," Galdor spent a few moments locating initiate level Song class rooms. To his surprise they were in the same building as his was, but not the same floor. "You will meet in A112... again building A" again he pointed in the general direction of the building "First floor room 112. I have written this all down for you. Now seeing as Mr. Sylkin has yet to return perhaps I can answer any questions you have?"
OOC: Contact Fish Stick regarding the work study and someone to mod your thread... I do believe that is correct.
