The Lescartes Agricultural Farms
Matthias eyed the grassy land in front of him. "Two-hundred acres..." he muttered to himself as his gaze fell over his family's land. It was a long horizon of grass and dirt, and to the east was a rather questionable amount of trees bunched togethor to take the shape of a forest. The north, consisted of a massive amount of water, and to the south and west, it was full of rich, earthy soil on flat bare land. Matthias had no idea what to use it for, but he figured if he needed to he could cut some of the grass and pour some dirt over it if needed. He could also cut down some of the trees once he got enough workers for the job. It was here, that the Lescartes manor could be made, if there was to be one. Matthias wasn't the famed Qheonor Lescartes, so he had no idea what the future held in store for the Lescartes. All he knew, was that he was going to try to make it the best he could, seeing how he would most likely be in charge of the farms since he planned on living in Tirisfal.
The road that led up to the Farmland was alligned with some trees on both side. As you go further down the road, a large house comes into view. In front of it, are large iron gates, towering above you. Although there are no gaurds yet, there are places for one to stand on each sidde of the gate.
Once permitted entrace, the road comes to a fork. To the left, you see an old wooden two-story mansion. It is alligned with shrubs and bushes at it's sides, and has a large wooden front porch. Here, is where Matthias Lescartes lives, and where some of the other Lescartes's can be found. It lies right beside the woods on the east, giving it a nice view over the sea of trees. Although the building looks like it could use some patching up and replacement of wood, it seems to be functional.
On the right side of the fork, the road leads an old wooden barn. Inside is a small two-horse stable, along with a ladder leading to the rafters which could be used for hay. The barn itself has a faint, chipped reddish color to it, and it could definetly use some re-painting. Attached to the barn on it's left side is a small shabby looking building with a tar roof. Inside, you will find lots of old rusted supplies for everyday fieldwork.
However, the place was assurely not ungaurded. Twelve cream-coated lion cubs prowled the lands, acting as gaurds and chasing after and perhaps killing intruders. Qheonor Lescartes had purchased them earlier at Rose Gem Companions a few cycles ago. They roamed the lands, always on the look-out for intruders. May the Gods and Goddesses have pity on one that they caught...
Matthias shifted his weight in his saddle. For the past few cycles, notices had been set up around Tirisfal about their farm. It was the same old notice Matthias must have seen hundreds of times before...
'The Lescartes Argricultural farms is now HIRING!!! Construction workers, Masons, draftsmen, labourers, construction hands, carpenters, foundation experts and even unskilled persons are all welcome to come and apply for a job! Come and join in the extensive contruction of several buildings and structures! Insurance fees will be paid to your families or next of kin in case of accidental injury! Starting pay is at 100 Crowns a cycle including free camp lodgings and one free meal per brightening!
Workers who show exceptional promise will be retained to work as stable-hands, fishermen, farmers and estate supervisors when the farm is completed and fully functional. We will train! Come one come all! Come to the Lescartes Farms for your interview and start a new career in both construction and agriculture!'
It had been up for quite a while, which made Matthias wonder why nobody had applied for a job yet. It was quite a deal. Insurance, free lodgings, free meal, and even 100 crowns! You couldn't go wrong there, no, not at all!
As Matthias eyed his land, thoughts popped into his mind. He could have the manor near the woods, along with a lumber camp. To the North, South, and West, would be the farmland. There could be numerous housing lodges along the places, and many other buildings as well. All he needed was Qheonor's permission, and he could go out hunting for supplies to make such a thing. Matthias smiled at his land. It was time....to begin.

Aralin wandered up the road to the Lescartes Agricultural Farms. His soon to be new job, at last I'll be making some real money he thought to himself I'll make my dreams come true, eventualy... He found the gates and they weren't staffed so he pushed them open himself and closed them behind him.
Too his left he saw he manor, most l;ikey the Manor Lescartes. To his right he saw a barn, the hint of tools peeking out of the doors and windows. East Was Woodlands and north was water, ahead was someone on a horse and roaming the land were...wolves?..no they look more like cats...giant cats...with big teeth. and ahead was a man or woman of a humanish shape, Aralin hurried up to it. As he got closer too it he realised that it was Matthias.
"Serale Matthias!" He called "Its me Aralin, I'm here about the job you offered me."

Matthias turned his head around and saw Aralin walking up to him, and he smiled politely. "Ah yes, Mister Aralin, pleasure to see you again," he said as he dismounted Tempest in one fgraceful motion. When Aralin finally reached his way to Matthias, Matthias would hold out his hand for a shake then say afterwords, "Still here about that job? I suppose I could show you around for now, although I don't exactly have all the supplies yet. I am still waiting on them from either my cousin Silas, or my half-brother Qheonor. But nonetheless, we can assurely put you to work." He winked merrily at his companion, showing that when he said 'put you to work', he was only joking. Obviously, Matthias Lescartes was in a cheerful mood.

Aralin acknowledged Matthias and shook the extended hand, smiling back.
"Its a pleasure to meet you again aswell." He let go of the hand and listened to Matthias, put me to work eh? That had better be a joke "I wouldn't mind having a look around after all I would need to know were to go if'n I'm going to work here." He said matching Matthias' jovial tones. "Has morsus arrived yet?"

Matthias shook his head. "No..not yet. I was unsure if either of you were planning on coming or not," he said smiling. He tilted his head in the direction of the mansion and said, "The lodgings will be in there, until we have the supplies and materials to make the lodgings seperate...you will stay here overnight, and as soon as we get the supplies and some workers we will begin" he started off while he took Tempest's reins in his left hand and walked towards the Mansion.
He then pointed with his right hand towards the barn and said, "In there, is a two horse stable, as well as rafters and such for hay and other materials. Attached to the barn is a smaller building that will store the materials you will need." Matthias smiled at Aralin, then said reassuredly, "Don't worry, I just go the land...we'll have it fixed up in no time at all..." He walked along with Aralin towards the mansion, before saying, "Any questions?"

Matthias thought for a moment as he awaited Aralin to reply. "You know what, I need you to run the farm. You can do what you like with it, just don't tear down any buildings..." he said rather quickly. "I have some travels I've been wanting to do, so I think now would be the time do them....I believe I can trust you? When Morsus comes, you two can split the running of the farm, just be known that if you screw up I will come after you and will have your head..." he said sternly. He then smiled and mounted Tempest. "If you need anything....contact me through pigeon...or a mail system...whatever suits you..." He then nodded his head at Aralin and rode off towards the city...

OOC: Sorry for delay, I'd told Morsus this was his que to arrive
"Me...in charge...of...this is very good. Though I'll need to know what I have to work with..." Aralin was very surprised, which could be confirmed by the dumbstruck look, open mouth and raised eyebrows. He had a few false starts of speaking, matthias had mounted the horse and was riding away when Aralin finaly got it right
"Hey Matthias!" He called out his voice shaking slightly "You're realy giving me the run of the farm? Wow, you won't be dissapointed and if so, then you'll have to run very fast to catch my head" He finished jokingly

Matthias heard Aralin's words and smiled a moment before returning back to Aralin. "I almost forgot!" he said in an excited tone. "You will be growing wheat, barley, oh and a vineyard, which I am sure Pa a the General Store can supply the supplies to you. Also, I need you to deliver this letter to the Thane Palacrisis as soon as you get the chance, however do not open it. Do you understand?" Matthias smiled and took out a letter from his inner pockets. In it, it said....
Dear Palacrisis,
Serale my old friend...I am unsure if you still remember me but I am Matthias Lescartes, former host of the position of Thane. I believe you would be more familiar with my brother, Qheonor Lescartes, as I often saw you with him. I will be gone from our beloved city for a while, so I have asked of a friend of mine run the Lescartes Agricultural Farm. He will be growing wheat, which will help replenish the food we lost during the invasion. If you could do me one favor I would be extremely grateful. I need you to keep an eye on him, make sure he does not take over the farm while I am away, but simply run it. If you could do this for me my friend there would be nothing more I ask of you. I thank you in advance for I don't doubt your friendship...
Serale,
Matthias Lescartes
PS- Make sure the letter has not been opened, for I asked Aralin to not open it when I sent him to deliver it to you. It is a test of faith, and I have no doubt he passed it.
As soon as Aralin took the letter, Matthias would bid him goodbye and head back to the city.

OOC: I'll have to wing this sorry if any thing is too bunnyish
Curiosity, nagging, burning curiosity nagged at Aralin's mind. After leaving Matthias he had ventured into the manor in search of the farm ledger to see what he had to work with. He found it in a study on the upstairs laying nochalantly on the desk, he placed the letter next to it and sat down.
"Hmm, Farm Manager now, eh?" He said quietly to himself "Farmhand, Rouge, Stablehand and barmaid...damn ale...and now Managing a farm." The Letter stared at him, daring him to open it. "Why not open it? It may say 'please kill the messanger' at the bottom, I'm not going through that twice." Aralin looked around him and checked the draws in the desk, paper, spare ledgers, envelopes, quills...envelopes. They were about roughly the same size. He opened the letter and ate its envelope, he read it carefully making sure no instructions were to kill the messanger, Aralin. It seemed innocent enough, Aralin wasn't planning any take over bids, the bit at the bottom made him feel guilty though. He placed the letter in the new envelope and got on with reading the ledger.

Finances;
1800 Crowns
- 1800 Vaulted
"Is that it? Well I suppose we have just started...I can look at the stocks myself later right now I'll just pop along and deliver this letter."
Aralin scratched the bridge of his nose and rose from his seat, then left the room. Then he came back again and picked up the letter, sealed the envolope and left properly. Then believe it or not got a pieceof paper and wrote,
'All aplicants please wait by the gate,
Enter at your own risk.'
Then after a moment of thought wrote under it;
'This includes you morsus'
And finaly he left, pinned the note to the gate and wandered into the town.

Upon arriving back after sucessfuly completing his first quest Aralin inspected the barn. One of the lions was sunbathing infront of the doors and he was very careful stepping over what looked like a clumbsy kitten, but could well have his internal organs decorating the ground in an interesting splatter pattern.
Inside the barn were all the agricultural tools and planks and nails and screws and hammers etc. nessecary for farm living, there was a small wooden ball in the corner, probably part of some banister from the manor that had been knocked off. He threw it out the door acompanied by the words "Go fetch kitty!" and to his amasement the beast looking curiously at him got up and wandered toward the ball and played with it.
Behind some planks Aralin found some sacks of stuff, it was marked "Wheat Grain". On the opposite wall was a harness and plow.
***
Much later in the afternoon 1 sack of grain waited by the gate, and where the road split a field started, some earth was recently tilled. A ways off was a lone elf walking behind a plow, he was holding a rod attached to the end of which was a severly chewed wooden ball. Staring hungrily at this ball and pulling the plow along was a great shaggy and quite dumb cub. Several other of the lion cubs stared dumbfounded at the specticle.

Palacrisis .Tupper and Meyra arrived at the entrance of the Lescarttes Farm. The carriage stopped at the gates, the unusual guardians were enough to prevent any uninvited guests from entering the farm. Blackthorn sat on the top of the carriage and sniffed the air and for the first time since Palacrisis had known the clever cat, Blackthorn was unsure of himself
Pal , there are some flaming strange cats in there , you had better watch your step
Palacrisis called out Serale, can we come in ?

Aralin's attention was diverted from his work and he stopped, the plow stopped and the cub jumped up and down excitedly at the wooden ball, Aralin kept it high so as the cub couldn't reach it but still made it dance, increasing the cubs desire to kill it. At the gate a carrage awaited and called out. It wanted to be let in, Thane Palacrisis was there.
"Yes of course Thane!" Aralin called back "Don't mind the cubs," he gave a whisltle and they went off busying themselves and the one trying franticly to kill the wooden ball manage to get a grip and ripped it from its string, it sat chewing the thing looking happy. "Erm, he's just practisin' killin'"

The thanel carriage made its way slowly into the estate. The matched palaminos were nervous of the cubs, their nostrils flared and their eyes were wide with fright yet their training got them through. The carriage drew up in front of the lescarttes mansion and the little party got out and admired the house.
Palacrisis greeted AralinSerale , I see the Lescarttes do themselves proud he gestured towards the grand house .
