[The Rum and Lace Tavern] Candy is dandy, But liquor is quicker (Islie)

29th of Immanis
Season of Winter
Nearing, but not quiet time for work
Era I of the Celestine Mandate
Era XV Post Fractum

The Rum and Lace was never exactly closed, but its girls weren’t always exactly working, that was the state of things at the moment, there were only a couple of patrons sitting at the taverns’ bar with a few girls sipping drinks before they would leave.

The evening crush was a few candle marks away still but some of the girls were already dressed, crowded into a booth smoking, drinking, and playing cards chattering, sending various girls back to the bar in the mids of laughter and card talk.

“Now you say you're lonely
You cry the whole night through”
Iris voice floated, the light alto voice purred as the woman appeared, in a rather pleasant of moods. Iris exited her room her dress was simple black and sleeveless with a V that flowed over her chest to her navel held together by black laces. There were twin slits that ran high up her thighs as she moved, showing both flesh and boots with every step.

“Well, you can cry me a river
Cry me a river
I cried a river over you.“
Her hair moved with every step, tight curls from a night wound and pinned were let loose to fall ad get a more natural appearance by the height of the night.

With a wave towards the women playing cards Iris moved to the bar still singing softly , her eyes and lips were unpainted, and pins from her freshly freed locks was still in her hand as she received a very lovely bottle of melomel that the woman adored. A rich mead of honey and plums, it smelled nice, tasted sweet and kept her buzzed most of the night.

“Now you say you're sorry
For being so untrue”
With a sway of hips and body the woman paused to bring the freshly poured glass and its intoxicating contents to her lips. Before taking a seat gazing at the honey colored liquid, and the door.

“Well, you can cry me a river
Cry me a river
I cried a river over you”
Lips curved in a delicate smile as she took another sip lounging slightly, it was still a less serious shift of work, and with the other girls, otherwise occupied, the singing muse would be playing hostess for a bit of time. Maybe something interesting would happen.

Islie wondered into the Rum and Lace Tavern, looking to relax and take her mind off her diligent studies of gadgetry and whirligigs. Walking towards the counter, she took a seat by the bar and ordered a tall glass of mead from the barkeep. They were typically only men who came to have drinks and enjoy the company of the scantly-dressed girls who worked there, but Islie found it just as enjoyable to be surrounded by these lovely women, having no discriminate preference in gender or race.

As she took sips from her glass and enjoyed the casually promiscous atmosphere of the tavern, Islie's furry ears pricked up at the beautiful sound of a woman singing, her voice was pleasingly melodic and poetically rhythmic at the same time. She turned her head to find the owner of this angelic voice, taking notice of an attractive female human whose body was seductively swaying back and forth as she approached the bar where Islie sat. The woman took a seat just a few stools away, and was drinking the same beverage that Islie had in her pink paws.

For some strange reason, Islie could not take her eyes away from the charming woman, stealing glances at her as she continued sipping her honey-coloured drink. Perhaps the melomel gave her a slight boost of encouragement, but Islie decided to stand up from her seat and moved towards the remarkably beautiful woman as she took a seat beside her.

"Your singing is quite beautiful, you know. I could listen to your voice all brightening long while drinking this glass."

Brown eyes blinked as something from the corner of her eyes caught her attention; with a slight tilt of her head she watched the pink figure rise, from a stool not too far and near her current place. As Islie took the stool next to her, Iris full attention shifted to the pink furred Dorin as she took another sip from her glass before settling back against the bar.

It wasn’t often there was a woman in the tavern, a few would wander in with the rest of the crew they worked with and share some drinks, laugh at their friends came, some came in looking for their men. Some would play nice with the girls, some were hostile or cutting, and even a few simply came to admire or chit chat.

But in the few months she had worked there, Iza would admit to not seeing one, male or female, quiet like this Dorin. All that pretty, soft colored fur. Now she as a rule was not found of the typically girly color, but it was fetching on the woman, the darker colors, and even her eyes complimenting the shades of her body. As the dorin spoke, complimented her, the woman smiled again a slow curve of lips.

"Your singing is quite beautiful, you know. I could listen to your voice all brightening long while drinking this glass."

“Why thank you, your words are too kind from one so fair, but hopefully you wouldn’t be drinking just that glass. Such a drink should be savored, but that does not mean you have to nurse it to death.” Izas’ voice purred softly with a teasing laughter to lighten her words.

“Do you sing, my friend?”

Islie felt wildly intoxicated in the presence of this lovely woman, trying with upmost effort not to linger her amethyst eyes too long on the seductive curves that outlined and graced her body.

“Do you sing, my friend?”

She chuckled at the notion. "Surely you have heard the saying, 'speaking as a Dorin' when people refer to those with speech impediments. My accent is atrocious as you can hear, but the best I could probably do is howl a beautiful mating call on a full moon," Islie teasingly joked.

Taking another sip from her glass, Islie began to feel comfortably buzzed from the drink. Her tolerance to any kind of ale was astonishingly low for a Dorin, so she knew she had to watch herself before she got too tipsy while speaking to the gorgeous human beside her. She could see the woman's wondering eyes over Islie's own body, and took on arousal and excitement in seeing this.

"I can see you've taken notice of my peculiar fur," Islie huskily commented. "Before you ask, it really is naturally pink."

The rich laughter sprang from Izas’ lips almost before she registered, surely her eyes had not lingered too long, but even so she knew what expression they conveyed, and it seemed the dorin was either used to the glances, or from the questions, and did not seem the least bit bothered by either coming from the furless woman.

“I will have to take your word for it, I doubt even if I searched till my hearts’ content, I would not find of proof that says other wise, would I? “
She chuckled, voice teasing before raising an eyebrow at the dorin and raising the glass to her lips before adding. “I do adore the pack callings of the wolves, and if the Dorin sound anything like those so I am certain you stand apart from every chorus, hm, and never the shortage of mates.”

It was true, as much as Iza loved the sea Iris loved the country and the seasons spent with her extended family in their huts. She was a Wolfsbane, and although as far as she knew her family did not hunt and trade in the wolf skins as much as they had when the surname came about, it was still tradition to listen to the wolves, some nights even call back. Her brothers made good impersonations with their mouths and horns as most men of the tribe did when traveled away, and some for the sake of tradition. Perhaps later, the pink one would howl for her.

Finishing her drink then Iza gave a low sigh feeling the sweetness flow down her throat and the curling path of warmth follow, before sharing with her new companion an impish smile before turning on her stool facing the pink one more fully. It had also placed the bar within reach, refilling her glass with the favored mead Iza offered to top off top off Islies’ as well before procuring a palm side deck of cards and again turning back to the dorin.

“Tell me friend, would you like to join me in a booth and play cards, or would you prefer to build card houses?”
Iza gave the woman a chance to reply, the booth really was a better place, for one, there was no way to fall down and two it was a bit more private, made it a bit more intimate and all the better to have girly talks and such.

“I’m usually called Roxanna, but, if you give me your name, I’ll give you mine.”

It was true that Islie would most likely never have a shortage of mates, as she often attracted Dorin males and sometimes even men of other races. Still being a very young Dorin herself however, she had yet to engage in the Dorin mating ritual; resorting to her own self-ministrations of pleasure during her periods of heat. If Islie were to let out a howl, the Dorin militia would immediately leave their posts and there would probably be dozens of male Dorin approaching the Rum and Lace tavern in seconds flat.

Islie thanked the fair woman for topping off her glass, although still wary of her encroaching drinking capacity.

“Tell me friend, would you like to join me in a booth and play cards, or would you prefer to build card houses?”

Being a gadgeteer herself, Islie loved to build things, even if they were just made of cards. "Building card houses would be amusing, plus i'm not exactly the best card player in town," Islie cheerfully responded to her invitation.

“I’m usually called Roxanna, but, if you give me your name, I’ll give you mine.”

"My name is Islie, of the Ai'kir tribe here in Taralon."

Izanami smiled delighted taking her glass and cards in hand before she raised to her feet. Waiting until Islie did likewise Izanami slipped her arm in with the Dorins' and bumping her hip lightly against her companions'.

"Islie, Islie of the Ai'kir, my friend. I am Iza, Izanami of the piers. Lived on ships for most of my life adult, until I decided to try living on land, i've found it to be quiet...dull for the most part.

Iza smiled lightly at the dorin, her hips bumped lightly as they swayed as the pair walked, and her thigh brushed lightly her companion as the woman led Islie to a secluded booth, it was close enough to still hear the conversations and laughter of the few patrons and the other girls, yet far enough to be a a little more, private.

Smiling Iza set her own glass on the table, and set Islies' on the table as well before allowing the woman her choice as she slipped her arm away with a light, lingering touch.

"What does a girl do in Tara, for fun?"
