Tarfuss strode down the walk of the warf and entered a battered door belonging to an equally battered buildking: The Salty Sea Dragon Tavern. Walking inside his eyes adjusted to the dark and smoky interior and found a table toward the corner with a good view of the door. He sat down and pulled out his pipe and tobacco and filled the bowl, catching the eye of the serving wench. He ordered a pitcher of ale and sat back as he lit and tamped the bowl, releasing a series of smoke rings that dissipated into the already murky atmosphere of the Dragon. It was a dive of a little tavern, but he wasn't feeling fancy, quite the contrary. He wondered if Eyvind or the others would show up as he sat back and waited for the buxom woman to come back with his drink.

The Vagaran had spent the whole day immersed in the Imperial Records trying to find an accurate map of the province, unfortunately he hadn't. After that he'd checked the progresses of the Provincial Army in the Training Grounds, outside the city. It had been a quick survey to see if everything was alright and at surface everything seemed. Arthalof had sweat a bit when he'd pushed him a little harder on the way back. It seemed the black Carmelyn Warsteed was getting used to stable's life, something that had to changed in the future.

When the Daekin entered the Salty Sea Dragon Tavern his eyes were still used to the light of the torches set outside. Blinking slightly and walking slowly he approached the counter and ordered a tankard of ale, a small glass of wine and small pieces of meat with garlic and olive oil. Taking everything and almost failing in not letting them fall he walked to Tarfuss' table. Placing the meat's plate in the middle hand pointing him one of the two forks inside Eyvind took a sip on his ale and sat down.

"You should try these, they are delicious!"

Tarfuss nodded his head to the woman when she brought his ale back. He sat back and took a long drink. It was passable, it wouldn't be winning any awards, but it was wet and it was ale, so it was good enough. Tarfuss set the mug down on the table. He saw the door open and a large figure standing in the door for a moment. Eyvind. The Deakin went to the bar for a few minutes and then ambled over to the table where Tarfuss sat, setting down a platter full of meat. It smelled good. With Eyvind's encouragement he took a mouthfull of the meat. It was good. Very good. Or, perhaps he was simply hungry. Either way he was glad for it. Speaking around the large mouthful of food he said, "Thanks, Deakin! You're a gen'lman an' a scholar. Well... Maybe not, but thanks all the same!" He chuckled at his attempt at humor and smiled a broad smile at Eyvind. "So, how go things here in Taralon - I feel I have much to catch up on!"

The Vagaran laughed some when his friend tried to speak with his mouth full of meat. The bearded Tarfuss was a fierce warrior and at the same time one that a man like Eyvind could enjoy for his sense of humor and fondness for the ale. After taking a sip on his own ale he spoke.

"Indeed there is much you have to catch up on. Firstly I, we, have been in charged of the training and preparation of the new Provincial Army, the Sherian Serpents. We have recently received a bunch of citizens from throughout the province to train. The First Regiment is being prepared and I already found a worthy Commander to lead them. You may know him as Aegis Labyrinthine, I met him in Prime when I was still a recruit. He's a worthy soldier. Secondly we have been given a mission. We are to infiltrate in enemy territory and find possibles routes for the Imperial Legions to use in their invasion into the Orcs's territory."

Tarfuss nodded and grunted as Eyvind spoke, his face still stuffed. After clearing enough room to speak somewhat clearly he said, "Aegis? Isn't he the Bullman? I met him once or twice. He's a pleasant sort." He swallowed the rest of the meat and took a long drink of ale to wash it down, enjoying the bitter nutty taste of the ale.

He continued nodding, thinking to himself. He had recently been involved in the training of militia in another province. "I did some training of militia before coming here, but you know that. The scouting mission sounds interesting. So much talk of work, though! What's to be had for fun here, other than hitting people with sharp pointy bits of metal?"

The Vagaran laughed and punched the table with his tankard so hard that some ale spilled out. He couldn't control his laughs and almost lost his breath. Trying to gather himself he looked to his companion with his eyes full of tears of joy.

"Good old Tarfuss, fun in Sheria? Only if you have a woman in your bed during the Darkening, otherwise you will no fun in here. Unless you count as funny barking to the recruits of the Provincial Army."

His face suddenly became hard as stone.

"You could find more fun in a graveyard than you find in here, my friend. The Horde is nearby and the people are scared. They still remember the horrors of the last war..."

He took a sip and noticed that the ale he had spilled had fallen on his cloak.

"Ah! How clumbsy of mine!" his voice changed to a whisper "Now I will show you how to have some fun, heh!"

"Lady! Lady!" he called a young woman around her twenties that was sitting with another female friend in a table nearby "Look what he did to me!" he pointed Tarfuss "Spilling ale all over me..."

The two women giggled and one stood up walking up to the Vagaran.

"It seems you need to change your clothes, Sire."

She giggled again while placing her arm around his neck, her friend stood up as well and approached Tarfuss.

"No, no, no. You can't ruin this precious ale with that enormous man, you should drink it or share it..."

The woman knelt next to Tarfuss. It was when the Vagaran winked to his friend.

Tarfuss watched Redbeard's actions. So like him. When the other woman approached him he knew he was blushing and he hated it. He'd get Eyvind for this.

"Now, ladies. I only sopped him up with ale because he deserved it! He was maligning your obvious beauty. I couldn't let him get away with such scandalous words unscathed, now could I?"
