Apprentic Mysticism [Reliant]
By habit, Kithus arrived at the front desk of the Academy of Combat slightly before the appointed hour. He waited anxiously to meet his trainer. He had already been promoted to the level of an apprentice. During his own private practices, he could feel himself being more apt at handling the spells he learned as an initiate, and feel his castings where more powerful than before. However, he did not possess the knowledge that also should have been taught to him after the promotion.
He had read extensively, trying to make up for the loss. He had read about the theories and mechanics behind apprentice spells, and even many of the journeyman level spells. But such knowledge did not translate into ability to cast those spells. He had want to practice casting the spells he read about. Although he was tempted, his first teacher's warning about dangers of tempering with arcana by those who don't completely understand nature of magic stuck firmly in his mind.
Glancing around gingerly, Kithus wondered what was holding the trainer so long.
