Anyone who hasn't been a moderator before, and mostly likely quite a few people who have, will probably not have much of a clue on where to start when moderating a training thread, either for someone else or yourself. The first thing to do is... don't panic! Oh, and read this guide, too
Tip #1: The Search Function is Your Friend
In the cases of lots of commonly pursued skills, the chances are, someone's already done a completed training thread before you. Here's where the
search function comes in. Simply type in what your learning, along with the profeciency level of the skill in the last box, and chances are, between all the other junk, it should bring up a previous training thread or two that you can read through and use for reference.
Tip #2: Check the Internet
For some things, particularly trade skills, there's a wealth of information about your chosen skill already at your finger tips. Try searching for information on a seach engine, such as
Google or
Lycos
Tip #3: The Resource Library
The Resource Library is a collection of links in the Moderator Resource forum that's for reference use when training. It was originally for A/GMs, but now it can be for PC use too
Tip #4: The Trainee-Trainer Matching System
If you don't like the idea of self-moderating a training thread, and can't find anyone to moderate the thread for you instead, try checking out
this thread in the Moderator Clubhouse.
Tip #5: If You're Still Stuck, Ask!
If after all that you're still having problems, whether you want to self-moderate and are having problems, or can't find anyone to peer moderate you in your field, then drop me a PM

I can either try to explain the self-moderation procedure of the skill your training in, or if you can't find anyone to peer-mod, I can take the thread for you instead.
