Carter College - Academy of Trade
The academy of trade was probably the most popular of the three faculties of the college, allowing people to gain the skills they needed to make a success go of things in the busy trade city of Abestat. The academy campus was situated in a northerly direction of the combat academy, and consisted of many different separate structures, each one holding the equipment needed to teach the many different trades skill on offer - for a price.
The administration building was right in the heart of the campus, a large, two story building, that also accommodated several classrooms for skills that did not need specific equipment to be taught. Like the Combat academy, the building had large double doors that were propped open, inviting potential students inside.
The lobby and registration hall was particularly small, just three chairs lining one wall and a desk situated at the back of the room, a clerk sat behind it. The clerk in question was a female Dorin, pretty - from a Dorin's point of view, with no distinguishable markings. A large book sat open on the desk, and she was bent over it, writing something down with a feather quill, occasionally thoughtfully grooming a whisker or her dark-brown coloured fur. A wooden board next to the desk proclaimed the different sorts of trades that could be learnt in the school.

Bustling. It was the only description that Agaenos could give to this particular Academy - especially this section, the Academy of Trade.
Not everyone chose the path of military life, or a life of sword or Arcana. For most, that was far too violent for their lifestyle, and probably meant they would perish as well, an aspect that no sane mortal would really relish. Trade was always their favourite option, therefore, it was no surprise why this part was the most frequented. Budding apprentices of their crafts, or their respective masters, could be seen flittering about, going about the businesses in their usual fashion.
For one who had chosen the path of military life, it was very unusual indeed for him to choose another path, another path which demanded persuasion and, to a degree, decisiveness. Very rare. But someone did choose to take Politics, and suppliment his knowledge on how to fight.
That someone was none other than Agaenos. To some of his comrades, that name seemed to say a lot.
Vaguely north of the Academy of Combat, Agaenos strode into the Academy of Trade, having just visited Jola's Stationary Supplies. His right thumb and right index finger rubbing with each other nervously behind his back, he eyed everything with one brief scan of his brown soul's windows. "Centre building... That must be where all of the administrations are..." He thought to himself, a small pang of nervousness pounding within his heart. He hoped the price was not too steep - at least, not so steep that he would not have any Crowns left by the end.
Approaching within, he could clearly see a female Dorin clerk behind the desk, reading and scribbling on a large book upon the desk. Waiting patiently on the queue, he eyed everything with much interest before it was his turn - in particular, the Price list, which did include Beginner Politics. Two hundred Crowns - not too bad.
"Serale," he commenced when it was his turn, his tone formal. "I have came here to sign up for a Basic course in Politics."
Smiling, he mentally crossed his fingers (which beat the whole purpose of crossing them), hoping there was at least one more student space left...

The Dorin clerk gave Agaenos a canine smile as he entered - the result being rather a toothy one. Once he got to the front of the queue, which didn't take too long, the clerk greeted him with a friendly 'Serale!' and a node at the request of a basic politics course.
Before answering or saying anything further, the Dorin scanned the big book in front of her to make sure a teacher was available. tapping the correct spot with a paw, she looked up at Agaenos again with a smile that instantly confirmed that there was an available place.
"Certainly. We have a teacher available to take you right away. The cost is two hundred crowns, please."
The clerk paused, making a tactful silence that Agaenos was expected to fill, preferably with money.

Gabriella was weird. Last night, for instance, she had decided to become a pirate. But not just any pirate. A pirate who could throw lavish dinner parties and serve five course meals at the drop of a hat, while healing the wounded and sick in her spare time.
I did say Gabriella was weird. So with nothing but naive delusion propelling her forward, Gabriella mashed her three cornered hat down over her head at the crack of dawn, told her dog Plato to be good, then set off towards the Academy of Trade.
She bounded towards the front desk upon entering, deep red curls springing out from every direction under her hat, one curling across her left cheek and over her nose.
"Serale!", she chimed out cheerily, "Can I become a pirate and a cook and a healer please?"

Timestamp: Late afternoon, 15th Ponutis, Era X
Mordeneb walked slowly into the building, his eyes sliding from one side of the room to the other as he strove to take everything -- which wasn't much -- in. He stood for a moment in the doorway, then shook his head and strode quickly to the front desk.
"Serale," Mordeneb said smoothly. "I'd like to take a course in basic law, please."
He paused, waiting for a reply.

With that sort of teeth the Dorin exhibited as he smiled to Agaenos, another new potential-student entering the Academy of Trade, the clerk could make a perfect advertising material for a resident dentist... If Abestat had one, and if the Dorin's teeth were snow-white, that was.
Though that really was beside the point.
The Human, at least, was in luck. There was an instructor avaliable right at the moment of his registration. Appealing fate, especially at a time like this, did not come easy.
A small silence ensued, though it was expected - the student had to pay. From his wallet, he produced two one-hundred Crown banknotes, handing the currency with a tiny tinge of reluctence which he successfully endaevoured not to show. After all, he really began to desire to undertake this course, though... And whilst initially, he thought two-hundred Crowns was not too bad, actually handing the Crowns over made him switch his mind slightly. It was a tad bit too expensive, perhaps...?
He never said a word on that subject, nor did he show any signs of that. He merely asked the clerk after paying the fee.
"Uh, might I inquire into the name of my instructor...?"

Gabriella
The clerk just sort of blinked at the girl's request, and pointedly drummed her fingers on the book in front of her as she thought about what to do. Gabriella seemed a little... unhinged, but, well, money was money, right. The Dorin gave her a friendly if somewhat brittle grin before explaining the options available.
"Ummmmmmm. We offer courses in basic cooking and healing, but... we don't... exactly... promote pirating. Um."
Recovering a little, the clerk went into autopilot slightly and continued in a bright manner.
"Can I sign you up for cooking and healing then? That would be a total of 400 crowns."
Mordeneb
The Dorin gave the elven man a smile, and nodded at the request. Law and Politics seemed to quite popular classes at the Collegio recently and both subjects had more than just one teacher who taught it. There would be no problem fitting Mordeneb into a class.
"Certainly. We have a space available. Are you willing to start lessons tomorrow? The costs is 200 crowns, as you can probably see."
Agaenos
The Dorin carefully counted the money that had been handed over, then spent an industrial couple of moments moving it from the desk top to a lockable, secure drawer with her paws. She nodded at the mention of the teacher's name and other information that Agaenos needed to know.
"Yes, yes. Sorry. We don't give that information out until the student has paid the fees, you understand. Your teacher will be Rikkia Ulesna. Since no specific equipment is needed for the teaching of politics, your classroom will be here in the main building. Lets see..."
She briefly glanced down at the big leather bound book on the desk, to check her information. "...classroom 2. It's just through that door to the right there. Oh, and may I have your name, please? We keep a record of all our students and what classes they have taken, for administrative purposes, you understand."

Mordeneb smiled back at the clerk. "Yes, tomorrow will be fine." He removed two 100-crown bank notes from his pocket and placed them on the desk. Quite the bargain, really, all things considered.
"Where and when shall I report to class?" he asked. He was excited to begin his studies. It felt good to finally be making progress toward something again -- he hadn't felt that way since his rescue of Falaria.

Watching idly as the female Dorin clerk began to take a few moments, probably longer than really essential, to stow away his Crowns into a strongbox (which is needed), the Corporal eyed the clerk with a non-descript expression upon his face, before straightening up slightly at as she started to answer his previous inquiry.
Apparently, however, he was not really supposed to ask that first.
Nodding once to the Dorin, he made a mental note to the teacher's name. "Rikkia Ulesna," he iterated adamantly within the mind, allowing the name to resonate within his mind, allowing ample time for it to absorb the syllables, before allowing his lips to quirk into a small smile.
"Ah, right - thanks." He said gratefully, eyeing the door which would become his destination. "Also, my name is Agaenos Phidion."
He stayed for a brief moment just to make sure the clerk spelled his name correctly, correcting any mistakes, before heading, his heart starting to thud with anticipation and some fragments of nervousness, towards the door on his right. Opening it, he sought Classroom 2... Where he would arrive at the place for elite education, and indeed, this course would give him a secondary career choice...
Wow...

Gabriella tugged absentmindedly at the wayward curl that had drifted across her nose while the clerk explained that pirating wasn't a viable option. Had Gabriella been aware of the"finer" aspects of pirating, - the looting, raping and killing for instance -she wouldn't have been disappointed at all. Instead Gabriella's face fell, sad that her romantic little sea journey was not to be. She tugged a few more tmes at the loose hair before remembering she was trying to be grown up, that Diana had blessed her specifically and wouldn't lead her astray. If this is what she was meant to do...
"Yes please, I'll take cooking and healing."
She perched her hat back a little more and straightened her cloak, hoping to look dignified, then slid 400 crowns across the counter.

Mordeneb
The clerk took the coins and stowed them away in a safety deposit box in a desk drawer. She then consulted the book again for details of the class commencement.
"The lesson will start in the early morning, in classroom three. The classrooms for law and other subject that don't require special equipment are all in this building. Your teacher will be Leon Humbart, one of our most experienced law teachers. Oh... could I have your name please, too? For the records."
Agaenos
The clerk nodded, writing the soldier's name in the gap besides classroom two for the specified day his lessons were to begin. She gave a smile, and a wave.
"Good luck with your class. If you ever want to advance once it's over, just come back and sign up for the higher levels."
Once the man had disappeared, she moved on to the next waiting customer.
Gabriella
"Okay... cooking and healing. Could I take your name, please?"
The desk clerk scooped up the four hundred crowns that Gabby had slid along the desk and deposited them safely, before consulting, as always, the book.
"Cooking classes will be in the morning and Healing classes will be in the afternoon, if that's okay with you? Your cooking teacher will be Tura Loamwafer, and healing will be Shiswan Tyaela. Healing will take place in the medical classroom and cooking will take place in the, um, kitchen. You can find both of them on campus pretty easily."

"Could I take your name, please?"
For a small second Gabby was tempted to blurt out "No, it's mine, you can't have it!", the way her brother Mort would when the two of them had registered for school. A sad smile flitted across her face at the unexpected memory, disappearing altogether in the next moment. It left Gabby with an odd sense of being alone, wishng she had brought her dog Plato along.
"I'm G-A-B-R-I-E-L-L-A" said Gabriella, nearly shouting. She wanted to fill up the quiet that seemed to have taken over the room. Pausing to think, she added, "Can you please tell me if I need to get any supplies for my classes?"

Mordeneb nodded, committing the name to memory. Leon Humbart, experienced law teacher. Classroom three.
"Excellent. My name is Mordeneb Ashcliff, spelled precisely how it sounds," he said. "I am most appreciative of your help."
He smiled as he exited the building. At last, at last he was getting somewhere. He couldn't wait to tell Falaria, and he quickened his pace as he raced off to see her.

Gabriella
The clerk carefully noted down Gabriella's name, not commenting when the girl provided the spelling of it, despite the fact that the Dorin had no problem in that department. She was still staring at the log book as Gabby asked her question.
"No, no supplies. The only think you'll need it some paper and ink if you want to take notes, but since they're both very hands-on classes I doubt that you'll need to."
She looked up, and smiled a canine smile.
"I think that's everything. Your teachers will be ready for you tomorrow."
Mordeneb
The Dorin clerk noted down the elf's name with a nod.
"Okay, thank you. Remember, lessons start tomorrow."
She gave a small wave in parting at Mordeneb exited the building.

Xanta entered the building and directly approached the Dorin. He hadn't met a Dorin since his friend Duffy had left...
"Serale. I seek initiate fletching training, if possible," he said curtly.
