Carter Collegio - Academy of Combat
Situated in the heart of the training district, the Academy of Combat was a low, flat building that sprawled lazily over the grounds of the college. Oddly shaped at angles, the spaces were filled with small, lush gardens full of green grass blades and creepers that climbed up the stone walls. Occasionally a bench was placed here and there for students to sit, relax, and reflect on the days lessons. In fact, the Academy had an entire fenced off section of well-kept turf, for outside practice, though it remained widely unused in the winter.
Despite the buildings odd shape where various classrooms and combat halls had been built in a slightly careless manner, the main entrance was not hard to find, donned with two life-size stone statues. One depicted a warrior with a longsword, looking ready for battle and wearing full armour, whilst the other was carved into the likeness of a be-robed female mage in the process of casting a spell. Big wooden double doors led into the Academy proper, which were propped open during the day and wedged shut at night.
Stepping through the doorway led into a fairly large foyer area, made to look homely by a rug or two positioned on the floor and some paintings will a battle theme hung on the walls. Various chairs lined the walls, for people waiting to be seen to, and at the opposite end of the room stood a large wooden desk. Above the desk on chains suspended from the ceiling was a big wooden plaque sporting the word 'Registrations'.
Behind the desk sat a female Esh'lahier elf, white hair tucked behind her pointed ears in a severe manner. She wore a prim white blouse, and a quill was being toyed with between her slender fingers. A smile adorned her face if she spotted any potential students, but other than that her features remained quite expressionless.
On the wall next to the registration desk was a engraved wooden board, that listed all the types of available training and the cost of learning them.

First Cycle of Aperitus, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era X Post Fractum.
Walking through the large front doors, Tippin noted all the things around him. He studies the paintings on the walls, and the statues on the sides of the room. He imagined how long they must have taken to engrave. Much skill was used here, but by who, Tippin would never know.
When he got to the rug, he found it very comfortable on his bare feet. The rocky paths outside had toughened his skin and gave him blisters. The rug was comforting. As he stood there, he looked around the room until he found the sign that said 'Registrations'. He wandered over to it and found the female Esh'lahier Elf waiting for him.
"I have come for Basic Archery training," The Halfling said softly, but with enthusiasm, "Bow, not crossbow, please." He wondered if there had been many other students registered for the same class. He hoped that he could get into the class, so he would be able to defend himself on the road ahead.

The Esh'lahier cleck gave Tippin a smile, albiet a stiff looking one, as he approached the desk. The clerk looked like a naturally grave woman, and she had a hard time being friendly with the customers, though she tried her best.
"Certainly. Did you have a preference on what type of bow you wanted to learn? Longbow, shortbow? Either way, the course still costs the same amount of money."
She paused for a moment, waiting for Tippin to answer, then quickly spoke again before he did, aware that she had forgotton to ask the halfling something.
"Oh, could I have your name please? To write down in the records."

He looked at the clerk with a comical expression, with one eyebrow raised. He stood 3" high, barely able to see over the desk. He had seen longbows being used by others, Some being twice his height! He couldn't imagine using one himself. "Oh, shortbow of course." He smiled and said, "I could never manage a long bow."
Question numbered two was still at hand. He raised his head as he said "My name? Sure, it's Tippin Linhollow."

The clerk smiled, and wrote Tippin's name down in the registry of students, the big book she had open on her desk.
"Okay, shortbow it is, then. That will be 200 crowns for beginner."
Whilst she waited for the halfling to hand over the money, the clerk told Tippin the details of the class.
"The lessons can start tomorrow, since we have a teacher available. His name is Rydian Y'wigulsu. Ummm... you'll be in the Ranged Hall 2. That's where all the ranged classes take place. It's just outside this building to the left."

OOC: Ah, like the new Avatar
IC: Tippin listened as the clerk directed him to the area where he would learn the ways of the bow. He was very excited, and couldn't wait to get started.
Still smiling, he said, " Thank you Mis, I shall return tomorrow to begin. I hope all the instructors are as friendly and as helpful as you've been!"
With that he was off, a bounce in his step as he headed out the door and out on his way to the market.

[Timestamp: Morning, Solaria, 1st of Optia, Spring of Era X]
Morp strode into the Academy of Combat with enough money to pay for training and his short sword, but he was unsure of whether or not he would be able to complete the training because of his limited amount of time. 'But it is better to ask than to wonder,' Morp thought to himself as he walked up to the clerk.
"Serale ma'am, I would like to take the beginner short sword class, but I have a limited amount of time. About how long do you think it would take to be take the class?" Morp asked, hoping it would not take too many days. However at the same time he did not want to simply skim over the class and be no more skilled than he was now.

OOC: Should the timestamp coincides with the CotF plot, I'll change it. *trying my luck here... *
IC:
Timestamp:
Mid-Brightening, Carmelyana, 14th of Optia,
Winter-Spring Juncture (Spring), Telath is in the Age of Darkening,
Era I of the Celestine Mandate,
Era III in the Tyrannical Mageocracy of Julos the Mad,
Ten Eras Post-Fractum.
Paradigm: The Prateia. Descension of the Sky-Isle of Ikerael, and occupation of Ancient Allerians in Alleria Prime.
Spring. A season of rebirth, blooming of the many types of flora and fauna in Telath, and increasing warmth, it was a season where it brought hope for many. And not just hope, of course - life. To many, the cycle of life restarts at Spring...
It just had to seem to be the opposite for Agaenos, however - and his fellow comrades in the military. He knew full well what was coming up. He knew well enough his life would hang upon the life of a thin thread. And he knew how little chance they had against the diabolical-sounding Council. If they could, as they guessed, put a whole city under curse - or at least they seemed to have been back at that party - then just what type of chance they had against them, even with the plan they set out before them?
Agaenos, Corporal of the Abestatian military, somehow managed to survive that imminent-seeming calamity, and managed to return alive, along with his beloved Sergeant. Fate had, perhaps, decide to shine pristine, Aetherian lights upon him finally?
"Good thing I had practiced Elementalism and never let it slip out of my mind..." He remarked to himself as he strode towards the Academy of Combat, lodged within the Synesi Plateia, "I hope my skills are not rusty..."
Determined brown orbs glanced up ahead, as his feet paced and brought him to the counter of the registration desk. A brief glance upon the engraved wooden board confirmed to Agaenos the training he wanted was, indeed, offered. His heart lightened slightly.
Smiling to the Esh'lahier clerk, he spoke in a friendly manner, hiding all worries and anxieties within him.
"Serale. I am here to take up a class on Apprentice Elementalism - are there any free spaces for that right now?" He asked.
He seemed to have forgotten something... But that was soon rectified.
"Oh, sorry - forgot to show you this..." His right hand diving swiftly into one of his pocket, he produced his Military ID and showed it to her. "I'm a Corporal in the Abestatian Military."
OOC II, Friday, May 14th, approx. 18:16 - I've changed the timestamp, as well as altering the 2nd paragraph to fit in the current situation.

Brightening 2 of Optia, Spring of Era X in the Age of the Darkening
Vizharan Grimshade entered the Academy with a grin on his face. He came to learn, and hopefully he would be fortunate enough to do so.
"Serale," he said, approaching the female elf's desk, "You look lovely today." He smiled at the woman.
He was having a pretty good morning and the mere thought of becoming more educated in swordfighting had him ecstatic.
"I would like to train in the art of the cutlass. I believe that would be short sword training beginner?" He asked removing 150 crowns from his pocket.

TIMESTAMP: Morning, Solaria, 1st of Optia, Spring of Era X
Atticus walked in. Looking at Morp, he nodded. "Hello Morp. Getting a little training?"
Then, realizing he forgot his bag of crowns, he abrutly left.
OOC: Changed mind about training.

Morning, Solaria, 2nd of Optia, Spring of Era X
Vincent walked into the collage. He was not in the mood to talk to anyone, in fact he was really not in the mood to be here at all. However that was not going to stop him form-seeking training. Walking to the counter he stated his request. "Good brightening. I am Vincent, Vincent Stefan, a member of the military Private first class. I was wondering if I could receive intermediate broadsword training here at this facility." Vincent posed in thought then added. "Oh, that’s right, I so pose you will need to see my Visa and Military ID." With that Vincent retrieved them from the pouch at his side and presented them to the attendant. Then waited for the attendants response.

OOC: Yipes, lots of people! Sorry for the wait.
IC:
Morp
The clerk smiled and nodded at Morp's request. Shortsword training was a very popular category in the academy and the faculty had had the foresight to employ several teachers who's skills laid in that department. The Esh'lahier briefly tapped her nails on the hard wooden desktop before she answer.
"We have plenty of classes available... basic classes usually only take a few cycles to teach. Of course, you're supposed to practice on your own too, but that can be done whether you're in the city or not."
Agaeno
OOC: Looks like you're going to have to change that stamp Sorry
IC: The elven secretary peered at the military ID presented to her, and nodded at Agaenos.
"No charge for military personnel. Apprentice Elementalism, yes? Do you have any experience with that sphere of arcana outside the classroom since your Initiate lessons?"
The Esh'lahir was generally a serious sort and she gave Agaenos a practically gravel-hard stare as she waited for an answer.
OOC: Linkie to any threads where you may have used your training please ^_^
Vizharan
The elf rallied in a prim sort of manner at Vizharan's comment and gave him a steely stare instead of an answer. The truth of the matter was, the clerk was rather uncomfortable around such comments, but her pale Esh'lahier skin made her blushes show up terribly, so she had learnt to supress them with mild distain instead.
"Yes, we have basic cutlass classes available, and you are quite right, that comes under shortsword. The class costs 150 crowns, but I see you've already worked that out. Can I have your name please? For the records."
Whilst she waited for a reply, the clerk deposited the crowns Vizharan had handed over in a desk drawer.
Vincent
The elven secretary peered at the military ID presented to her, and nodded at Vincent.
"No charge for military personnel. Initiate broadsword, yes? Do you have any experience with that type of weapon outside the classroom since your beginner lessons?"
The Esh'lahir was generally a serious sort and she gave Vincent a practically gravel-hard stare as she waited for an answer.
OOC: Linkies to thread where you've used your training, please ^_^

Brightening 6 of Optia
Spring of Era X in the Age of the Darkening
Xanta entered the building, glancing both at the receptionist and the sign. He saw what he needed.
"Serale, silent one. I seek training in longsword, katana specifically," he said, drawing his sword from its sheath a few inches. "I assume it's the same deal."

"Alright, I'll take the class. What's the price? 150 crowns?" Morp replied as he pulled out the money to pay for the training. He counted it out and slid the money across the desktop to the clerk.
He was glad to finally be starting his training. He had bought his sword a long time ago, but he had simply not had the time to begin training with it. Now that he was established in the city and had a regular income, life would be much more relaxed and he would have time to do the things that he wanted.

At the response of the clerk, Vizharan worried he had made a fool of himself in front of the lovely lady. He thought perhaps she would take the compliment better... But maybe she was just uninterested.
"My name is Vizharan Grimshade," he said with a smile, "May I know yours?"
