Basic Arcana - Open to All
OOC: This thread is for anyone who wants to learn basic magic. Doesn't matter the discipline, all people have to go through the same basic primer of basic arcanomechanics and be unbound.
So, instead of having to do the same thing 300 times, I'm going to do this en masse.
There will be an admissions process, because no one wants to teach arcana to a one-line poster or to someone who thinks Alleria is a mud where the goal is to 'win.' However, in the long run this will actually be faster than self-moderation, because since I'm doing it, it doesn't need to be ratified, and if we all post once an hour, then that's the speed we all go at. If I post once a week, that's the speed, too.
IC:
In the middle of Carter College, the bald Grand Master Xavier John-Luke Arpek sat in an open atrium, drinking a cup of tea. This might not be so remarkable except for the fact that Arpek was floating 12 feet in the air, the teapot hovering on his left right beside him.
"Serale, adventurer. I am Grand Master Arpek of the fabled city of Mileswick, currently employed here at Carter College as Dean of Enrollment to the school of witches and warlocks." Arpek paused to take a sip of tea. "Ah, Earl Grey, always hits the spot."
Arpek glanced down. "Magic is not an easy mistress, for the arcane can be a difficult subject to matter, and some who are unbound and glimpse the unseen are forever damaged by the experience, driven insane by a realm beyond their mortal comprehension."
He pointed at a clipboard floating next to him, 12 feet up in the air. "But, first things first. To become a mage is simply enough. Just put your name and desired sphere of magic here for me, and we will continue."
