Okay, people, weapons training in Abestat is a little different to what you might have experienced before. In essence, you write your own training threads, without interaction from the moderators. Don't panic! It's not as tough as it sounds. Allow me to explain:
Please note, these are only for basic skill. If you want intermediate or higher, then PM me because there is more rules as you go more advanced in a art and things I got to check.
Right, so you have selected your course, and you have subtracted the crowns from your personal supply (we WILL be checking). Next, you need to know which NPC will train you. If you have selected sword or dagger training, you will be taught by the NPC for that corresponding weapon. For axes, hammers and clubs, it will be a different NPC. Descriptions of both are at the end of this passage. Now, how does this actually work?
As I said, you write it all yourself. You start yourself a new thread, and write what the trainer NPC does and says, and you write how your PC reacts to this. In essence, the trainer explains what you should be doing, and the PC tries to do it as best they can. Feel free to roleplay simple mistakes, etc, as it adds to the realism. I have given an example passage below, to give you an idea of what is required.
Chavvie entered the training room at the appointed time, and was surprised to see a large Lionid stood waiting for him. "Therale" The katta said, with a pronounced lisp. As he spoke, Chavvie could see a long split in the Lionid's tongue, surely the cause of the lisp. "Serale sir." Chavvie stammered. "I am here to start basic falcion training." .........
.........Having been shown the basic stance a couple of times, Chavvie felt ready to attempt it. He set his feet as his instructor had shown him, and hefted the wooden training blade in his hand. Tarvich watched every action carefully. When Chavvie had set his feet, the Katta stepped forward. "No. Your feet are too clothe together. Get more width in your thtance."....
And so on. It's not too difficult once you get used to it. Now, for basic training, you will need to posts a minimum of 15 posts in your thread. They will need to cover all obvious aspects of basic weapons training (Stance, a few basic offensive and defensive moves, cleaning the weapon). The rules are, you can only write ONE post each RL day, and when you think you have finished you need to PM me, Legion or one of the AGM's, and we will check it. If we are happy, we will sign off the training. If we are not, we shall tell you why and you will be able to correct it. One last point to make. Once a mod has signed off the training, you cannot start another weapons training thread for ONE RL month. This is to allow your PC time to absorb what he has learned so far (and to stop abuse of the system, naturally). That's about it, but please bear in mind that we mods are always about. If you get into difficulty, need help, or just a push in the right direction, then just PM one of us. The point of this system is to assist everybody, and to give us mods more time to design better plots for you. We want it to work, so we will be happy to help you smooth out any problems you might encounter.
The descriptions of the trainers are below. If you want to know any more details, then please say so here in a CALM and kind discussion.
NPC list:

These NPC's must be used with the corresponding skill your learning. These NPC's are for training ONLY.
I will try to elaborate on the NPC's in time. Also name your thread as follows: CC Your Name (level: Type of Skill or name of weapon)
Here is an example of how I use to do a training thread. Jut copy that, but adding your own creative spice. Have fun just as long as you do not deviate away form the rules, and obvious character out lay :

Ok now its impossible for me to think of everything to offer and then make a NPC for it. If you seek something and you want to self moderate and its not here then PM me. I suggest viewing these threads as telling a story in a sense. If you want good quality training I suggest you do darn good RPing, and obey the simple rules. I suggest you observe other training threads to if you wish, but hopefully the examples explain it enough. We are also offering trade skills just PM me with the skill in question. If it is feasible I will add it to the list and create a NPC for it. Also I do not want any arguing posts or what you think about this type of moderation posts. This is a training area...well there it is. Good Luck.
More important rules:
1) You must be a citizen of Abestat to train here. This means that you've registered OOC with the Abestat character registry, registered with the Aedile in Dan's Domicilium for a house, have a house thread, and are interacting with other people in Abestat.
2) Failure to comply with rule #1 will mean no ratification of your training. Alleria is not about being the best or the baddest, it's all about the writing and interaction. If I don't see at least a good solid month to six weeks worth of posts, each post 750 or so words in length, I will void the entire thing. (You may, now and again, have a post that drops down to 500 or so words, but I won't accept a string of two-line posts.) Also, there is to be NO power-posting.
Good Luck again.
