Arcana Practice (Ryuujin)

As Kales said the fields out side Abestat were a good place to practice his elementalism. Indeed, the more casting and more practic e meditating the better his spells would work and the faster. It seemed Ryuujin heeded those words and found himself once again in the fields this time alone prepared to cast a few spells.

The grounds were moist from t he winter, and the winds at an average breeze. The area was mostly flat with a few trees, and bushes that would make up the field. The occasional bird flew by, and the sky quite clear with the two sunns staring at Ryuujin. It was in all a nice day really. Indeed, so what was firs t on t he list of spells for Ryuujin ?

Ryuujin breathed deep as he looked around. He hoped that he would soon see Kales again. Now though he was going to practice what he had learned.

He decided to start with elemental grasp. He meditated for a moment to prepare then he connected his Vis to the Ara and began to channel its energys. He decided to use Fire this time as he had not tried it yet. He called forth the mana and began to shape it. Last time he had just made a vague mitten, but this time he wanted to know it he could make a tight fitting glove that would give him better control of his fingers. He began to shape each finger, fitting it to his hand. When he had finished he picked a flower and watched it burn and shrivel in his hand.

Ryuujin was not an apprentice, and thefore could not cause the fire to fill up each finger one by one really. He only had knowledge of basic spell. Which meant he could cast it, but not control how to... as that would be mana reshaping. However, his hand did thrive with fire, and indeed burnt the flower slowly as he held into it was ash and blew away.

OOC: Be sure to name the spell your doing. Also If i were you I would make a CIR and then keep track of each spell and how many times you have casted it. That will help you big time when mods go to see how talented you are in a given spell. =)

Ryuujin watched the wind catch the ashes and blow them away to be scatered and fertelize some other flower. As Ryuujin still had a mitten of fire around his hand he figured that this would be as good a time as any to try a dispell.

Ryuujin Began the process of connecting his Vis to the Ara and using it to open the channel to the elemental planes. But this time he did it backwards and then foucused on making the mana flow back through the channel to the elemental plane of fire.

OOC: Where do I start a CIR? and btw I know what it is just what does CIR stand for?

IC:
Master Arpeg continued searching the province for potential mage-tech specialist 3rd class. He noticed Ryuujin standing out in a field by himself. "You there! Earth Spike! Now!"

Arpeg snapped his fingers and pointed at where on the ground he wanted it to appear, a spot midway between them. He wore the uniform of an Abestat Major, and even though they were technically off base, a Major was never one you wanted to be on the bad side of.

Ryuujin was taken aback by the sudden apperance of the man. But he realized that this man was a major and Ryuujin knew how to follow orders. He snaped a short "Yessir" to the major and began his spell.

He began to connect his Vis to the Ara around him. He channeld its energy into the plane of earth. Foucusing on the essence of the element to come through the open channel. Then he tried to force the mana that had been created through his body into the ground. He saw it moving underground to the point that the Major had indicated. Then he made it burst up out of the ground in many spikes as sharp as needles.

When he had completed his spell he looked at the major and said, "What next sir?"

OOC: Ryuujin dude that was a bunny you can not forecast or say how your spell turned out man. No mater how bad you wanted it to be successful. Spock grows angry.

IC: Fortunately the spell worked as planned, and pleased the official. The major not to sure about the cocky ways of this dracon asked to fo r another spell to see how he would handel himself. If pride became before the fall he did not want Ryuujin. Indeed an open minded man a "can do" kind of guy is who he wanted. The major then motioned "cast a different spell let me see what you got."

OOC: sry spock I just get caught up in the story telling aspect of it. I try to make the post sound good and sometimes forget about the rules. sry bout that.

IC: Ryuujin nodded at the major and thought about what to cast. He decided on Inner Radiance as that was the most complex spell he had yet learned.

"I will cast Inner Radiance sir", said Ryuujin. Ryuujin began to focus and meditate, trying to reach a point of Clara. When he had calmed his body and his mind he began to connect his Vis to the surrounding Ara, opening a channel to the elemental planes. When the channel was complete he called forth a large tounge of fire from the plane of fire. It appeared in his mind as mana, glowing in front of him. Then as he had done before he forced the mana down his throat through his body out to his fingertip and toes. He could feel the warmth flowing through his body. Then he tried to force the mana to seep out through his pores and into a vague aura around him. When he was finished he looked at the major.

The commander shrugged "Yea, Yea, Yea I seen that dispel that, and show me something else Private. Do it quickly I don't go tall day you see." The commander eyed the private wondering what he would muster next...

Ryuujin nodded at the major and began the dispell. When he had finished that he said he noticed a deer grazing nearby and knew what speel he would do. "Are you hungry sir?" Ryuujin said as he bagan the spell.

Ryuujin began focusing on the state of clara. Trying to reach a state of subconcious nirvana. Then he connected his Vis to the Ara. He decided to use the spell elemental shock, using electricity to stun the deer and kill it if he could. He began to summon the element of air through the channel made by the linked Ara and Vis. When he felt that he had enough mana he formed it into a lance as he had before and shot it at the deer, whos Vis was very visable to him now. It was aimed directly at the heart.

unfortunately the deer was only shocked and it bounded out of sight. "I'm sorry lad but your not what I'm looking for." Without another word the major walked off.

Ryuujin was a bit disappointed. He was curious about what the major had wanted. "Oh well" He thought. "There will be other chances."

Next Ryuujin decided to try an Elemental orb. Just to have some fun he took some pine cones and set them up like bowling pins. He lined himself up and began the meditation to reach Clara. When his mind was free of all thought he began to connect Vis to Ara and open a channel to the plane of earth this time. He then summoned forth a ball of stone and molded it till it was round and smooth. Then he hurled it at the pine cones and hoped for a strike.

The stone Orb formed beautifully and rolled at the pine cones and scored a perfect strike.

Ryuujin had become very tired by this time and decided to sit down and begin to meditate. He began to clear his thoughts, focusing on regaining the Vis that he had lost. He concentrated and felt the energy flow back into him. Then images started to flow into his mind. This had happened before in the forest when he had been knocked out. What would he see this time?

Light flowed past his eyes in reverse. He saw all his memories since the time that he began his life in Prime. And even some before that. He was 15 Patterns old. He stood in front of a Tribunal. He was standing trial for the murder of a human student. "You killed an innocent boy, dracon." shouted one of the judges "He pulled a knife first!" Shouted Ryuujin back at the judge. "It was self defense." "Can you prove that?" asked the judge with a smirk. "No, I told you he threw the knife down the sewer. I recognized the knife though, it was a Dorin made Graw'lak dagger. It probably belonged to the Dorin that was killed last ye-" "How dare you accuse my son of that murder!" screamed the judge. "This courts ruling is final. Fifteen patterns of imprisonment." Then another Dracon on Ryuujin's left stood up. "My lord, fifteen patterns? This boy has just barely seen that much time here on Telath. Surely that is much to harsh a punishment." "For murder yes but I have added the charge of false accusation." said the judge. "Court ajurned" With that the gavel fell and Ryuujin eyes opend in a cold sweat.

Ryuujin wanted to see more. He had never remembered any of his childhood...before now. Now everything was different. He remembered this incident. He had been accused of killing a human boy. "That boy was a bully" Ryuujin found himself saying out loud. He had done something, but Ryuujin couldn't remember any more. The details were leaving him faster than he could recall them. Then they were gone.

Ryuujin was too overcome by this to do any more work today. He had to rest. He needed sleep. He went back to his dorm and fell to a dreamless sleep almost instantly.

The next day Ryuujin returned to the place that he had practiced the day before. He could still remember what he had seen the day before but it was growing fainter every second.

Ryuujin tried to block it out of his mind though. If he thought about that he would not be able to concentrate on the spell. "First I'll try a simple glowing sphere." He said confidently to himself. Ryuujin began to meditate, focusing his mind on the thought of what he had seen the day before-no!, on the spell, and only the spell. He connected the Vis inside him to the Ara around him. He pulled the essence of water and wind from the channel he had created and began to form them into an orb. But something was wrong.
