[Siona]Of Wolves and Prey...

TS: 34th of Aperitus, Era II of the Celestial Mandate, Era XIV PF.

IC: Centripax. A land that held a special place in the heart of one man. Now matter how decayed and hollow it was, such a heart would always call the central lands of the empire home. It was the place of his birth, and death or at least of his former self, and his rebirth; a rebirth into hate. But for too long had this heart been away from its home. Life had carried its owner to all corners of the empir, pursuing a deadly path of vengence that had left a trail of death and decay. Finally that trail led back home.

In the pail moonlight, a winged beast flapped its midnight wings fiercely as it carried a lone rider across the darkening's sky. It soared over the palely illuminated heartlands and forest below as the rider scanned the landscape below with a pair of brooding emerald eyes. The wind whipped through his platinum hair and danced in his cape as the Dark Knight seemed to soar amongst the stars themselves. Finally his brow narrowed as he found his destination upon the horizon. With a sly smirk, the Wolf of Jorel tightend his grip on the reigns as he sent his pegasus diving towards Telath.

Landing far enough to avoid detection. The master swordsman kicked his leg over the saddle, dismounting his winged horse. The man was Fidelis Meridius, the Champion Wolf of Jorel, and sworn enemy of Aslan. Looking back to Blackwind, the warrior whispered to the beast. "Ok, you know how this is going to work..."

Taking a few paces away, Fidelis stood up straight with his face turned towards the sky. In this position he closed his eyes, and begun to relax. His mind was washed of all stray thoughts as he spent several long moments in meditation. A task that was becoming easier and easier for the experienced yet uneducated necromancer. Finally the Jorelite attained a moment of Clara as he joined himself with the infernal plane. Drawing the drawing forth the infernal essences and pulling for vis from the plane of darkness; a process that was rather lengthly. Finally he had enough for the desired spell. Gathering the amount of ara needed the Dark Knight began to weave his guise. Convoke Shadows was the desired spell. It would cloak his body in shadow as he channelled the energy into mana before casting.

Was the spell was complete, Fidelis knew he would have to move quickly, as he was not powerful to make it endure for the entirity of his mission. Turning on his heels, the human mounted the winged beast and darted back into the skies. Flying just high enough to avoid detection, the pair made their way over Siona. He was going to get as close to the Citadel as he could. Spotting a clear enough roof top, the warrior aimed his Pegasus towards it. Descending upon his destination, the Jorelite set Blackwind upon the roof just long enough for him to leap to the roof beneath them.

With a quick slap on the flank, Blackwind was sent back into the sky. "Watch over me... be ready." With that, the beast was gone, and the warrior was within the walls of his prey while cloaked in shadow. Drawing forth the Ardentium Gladii, Chaos, and Order. The Unholy Crusader was ready to make a statement that would never be forgotten. Before the brightening came, many would lay dead in the streets at the hands of Fidelis Meridius.

Raliric Ered`Gard is an upstanding Citizen
His entrance into the bastion of order went without incident, there were none readily watching the skies for shadows trying to gain entry, though whether there were people watching the skies in general was another question entirely that could not be answered by the master swordsman and patron of Aeternia. Suffice to say no alarm was raised as he flew over the high city walls, no call of confusion about a shadowed figure landing upon the slanted granite tile roofs. His mount, Blackwind, had risen to a reasonable height in the sky above Siona, enough so he could view his master whilst circling in the skies.

He could immediately feel that traversing the city via the city roofs could be an interesting task for a few reasons that had nothing to do with being spotted from below. The roofs were slanted, the tiles were slick and there was nothing readily available to catch onto should the master swordsman loose his balance and slide from his purchase. This coupled with the fact that nearly eighty percent of Siona’s buildings were taller than most cities; most of the buildings were large Insulae consisting of some four stories each and all with open courtyards in their center. If he fell, he would certainly injure himself. Which begged the question of; ‘How was he ever going to get down without hurting himself?’ Even a practiced drop of four stories was enough to break a leg or an arm depending on how he landed and if that landing was even remotely successful.

The spacing between Insulae was also interesting to note; most cities would have a grouping of residences which would sit next to each other and create city blocks surrounded by an intricate pattern of city streets. Siona was subtly different; it was built in a circular pattern and did not deviate from it. Everything was meticulously planned and implemented as if the entire city had been build from some master plan on a drawing board. Fact of the matter was, that was exactly the case. Each Insulae was its own separate block, though some were closer than others with only an alley in-between each, however most of them were surrounded by the paved streets made for carriages and wagon travel as well as consisting of ample room for pedestrians on either side of the main thoroughfare.

All and all creating a rather different situation for any travel via roof top. Thus Fidelis’s concern at present was by no means guards or citizens traversing the streets, but rather how he was going to get down from his precarious position.

Under the cloak of shadows the Warrior of Vengeance infiltrated the wall of Siona with eyes. With an equal quickness, he dismounted the pegasus, perching himself upon the steep rooftop like a katta. A disgruntled stare studying the ground below as Blackwind ascended backinto the sky. He had not expected this. A situation where he was above his enemy, but had no way of descending upon them.

Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance... Something like that, right? Either way, the warrior equipped himself for a quick and stealthy incursion. Yes, he could probably call Blackwind back. Yes, he had a good length of rope in his saddle bag, but he didn't expect any of the roofs to not have any kind of access.

What was he going to do?

"Surely there is a balcony somewhere..." Or something lower that the Jorelite could drop to. Sheathing one of the blades, the Wolf of Jorel used his free hand to help him traverse the zenith of the building as he looked for something lower, but if he couldn't find anything without killing himself... then he already had a back-up: Necromancy. Could an orb of acid burn through the roof enough to force entry into the building.
