[Gil'dae Cheb] More pointy objects (Cala, Pre-Veil & GF'd)

9th brightening of the month Junctior, in the Season of Autumn
Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum.

Larien sat upon her bed, her pale green eyes wide with her wakefulness as she stared into the dimness. Through her window that looked out over the grounds of Starshadow, the young elven woman could just see the suns of Telath peeking over the horizon. With a soft sigh -- Finally -- the elven maiden unfolded herself from atop her silken sheets and slipped down off the bed. Immediately she was grateful for the rugs covering her floor. Pulling her robe tighter about her lithe frame, Larien padded quickly over to her wardrobe, flinging the doors open and grabbing a pair of her breeches and a loose shirt. Staring at the thin cotton, she suddenly pondered why she had not bought herself something woolen...

Removing her embroidered robe and her simple chemise that she used as a nightgown, the young woman let out a soft gasp as the cool air hit her skin. But she wasn't undressed for long. Even in her clothes, the chill was little better, so the young woman grabbed her riding cloak which was made of a beaten wool and flung it over her form. She didn't bother clasping it, for she would surely have to remove it once her lessons were started. After slipping on a pair of her boots and grabbing Celeb'ril from its place by her door, Larien was then hurrying from her room and down the stairs. She took a detour through the kitchens to grab a quick bite of bread and jam, but then it was straight outside into the cool air of an autumn morning where she was to wait for Cala's guard, Eärendil Valleron, to meet her.

She had had the longsword in her possession since early summer, but the young woman had yet to learn how to wield it. After deciding she was going to journey to Paxia to offer her help with refugees or rebuidling or anything that her services could have been used for, Larien had borrowed the weapon from the Gil'dae armory. It was a simple blade, but well-made, and had the Gil'dae crest on its hilt. Despite the fact that she had not known how to even hold it, let alone kill something with it, she had hoped that having it on her person would have been enough to deter some ruffian from trying to do her harm. She had been correct in her hopes and indeed, no harm had come to her. But it was surely high time that she learned what she was doing. So it was that Larien had arranged these lessons with her cousin a few cycles ago.

Keeping her cloak tight about her, the young woman bounced a little as she remained stationary, trying to keep her blood flowing quick enough to combat at least a little of the seasonal chill while she waited for Cala's guard to arrive. Mental note to self -- wool shirts or jackets are a must when next shopping for clothes.
