[Gil'dae Cheb] Wanderings of the Curious (Calariel)

Two brightenings have passed since Enelya awoke in the guest quarters of the Gil'dae Cheb. Since then she has been trying to re-immerse herself in the world she had left for so long. Enelya started her wanderings inside and around the Cheb. She banned herself from going to far into the surrounding forest, not wanting a repeat of last era. Her body was recovering slowly from being in rest, faster then she thought it would, but her back still pained her at times. Enelya was almost used to the pains now, and only winced slightly if a small attack occurred.

Enelya is still surprised and upset every time she looks in the mirror after getting out of the tub to find her scar. This morning she didn't even look into the mirror, not wanting to let the imperfection bother her. She braided her hair in one long braid when it was still wet, giving the hair on her scalp a nice sheen. Enelya found a note on her bureau from Silmarwen, her mother, giving Enelya permission once again do as she pleased. As if she truly needed her mother's permission anyways, but Silmarwen always treated Enelya as a child. Silmarwen tells her that once she has proven herself to be an adult, things will change.

Enelya now found herself in the main floor of the Cheb, with Aidya Ae'muil, one of the housekeepers tending to the main floor as usual. Enelya smiled warmly at Aidya, who, in turn, gave a slight curtsy to the young Lady Elsdragon. This brightening Enelya planned to see who was in the Cheb at this time, for since she had been her she has only seen Silmarwen. She thought of how nice it would be to see Calairiel, her cousin, who would no doubt know if there was anything new going on with the Syl'rosian Combine and maybe even with Imperial politics.

But being the curious cat she was, she found herself stopped by an intricate fixture that Aidya had finished dusting. If she was going to be continuously distracted like usual, she'd never see Cala, unless her cousin was out and about like herself.

The young Arwen was indeed out and about, tending to business as usual in the morning candlemarks. It wasn’t unusual for her to be holed up in her office either but on that particular morning, she was more interested in being up and about then confined in small spaces.

Yawning a bit, she came down the front hallway on her way to the kitchens to see if she could get a late breakfast when she spotted Enelya, smiling widely.

“Morning, sleepyhead. Want to join me for breakfast? I was just on my way to see if they could whip me up something in the kitchen. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too difficult to find another plate.”

It wasn’t often that Calairiel was blessed to spend time with the other members of her family…even Nimavel, so any moment she could was truly treasured.

As soon as Enelya heard the word sleepyhead she snapped out of her trance and looked over to the where the familiar voice came from. She found herself looking at Calairiel, just who she wanted to see, and smiled brightly back at the Arwen Gil'dae.

"Quel amrun, Arwenamin! Nae saian luume'.* I would love to join you for breakfast. It is not often that I get to spend time with my cousin."

She said sincerely, for it was the truth that even before Enelya's magical incident she didn't see Calairiel as often as she had liked. Despite how much they contrasted, right down to how they looked, Enelya enjoyed the company of the intelligent and older elf before her. Enelya would wait for Calairiel to lead the way to the kitchen since she invited the Lady Elsdragon to join her. Enelya knows where the kitchen is, despite her light amnesia, so it wasn't that she couldn't find her way. She just thought it would be more polite this way. And despite her somewhat childish antics at times, she still tried to be proper.

Calairiel smiled and linked her arm thought the younger elf’s. Making their way to the kitchen, the staff seemed to know immediately what the two wished and ushered them over to the small table in the corner of the kitchen. Calairiel ate late breakfasts enough for them to know the drill. While eating in the formal dining room was good for family meals, the Arwen of Gil’dae preferred to be in the hustle and bustle of the kitchen otherwise. She enjoyed watching them work, reminding her of a simpler time when the weight of the world wasn’t upon her slender shoulders.

Their breakfast was laid out before them…juices, fruits, cheeses and fresh baked bread.
It wasn’t until that moment that Calairiel realized how famished she actually was. Selecting a few pieces of fruit, she glanced over the table at her cousin, smiling warmly.

“So, may I ask what is going on in your world these days, cousin? It seems we hardly have the chance to talk anymore.”
