[Restwood] On My Way (Open)
Brightening 5, Third Cycle. Spring of Era I of the Celestine Mandate (current Pattern), Era XIII Post Fractum.
The young female elf stepped into the glade and eyed the shanty domicile in front of her. It was slightly different than the childhood home she remembered from just a few patterns ago. It was the same place, but the odd way the vines in front climbed their way to the roof and the holes in the paper thin walls etched through seemed to make it different.
The small hovel was typical of Sylrosian life. Small, opened to nature, and shaped like a U. Linwe sauntered through the knee high grass towards the front entrance and pushed it with her tanned hand and jumped back as it tottered and fell silently to the grass. It would need to be fixed later, but she was happy to have at least a roof over her head to comfortably slumber between training sessions and walks in the woods.
The inside of the house was in no better condition. The dirt floors seemed the same, but the overturned table in the front public room was covered in it. Linwe placed her small lot of belongings on the floor next to the door and picked up the table and brushed it off with the back of her hand. She then headed down the hall to the left and saw the only room in which to sleep.
It was her room from when she lived her with her parents before she began her extra long stroll through the woods. The room where she spent many calm nights and the room from which she left many patterns earlier. The bed was still made, although covered in dirt. Her mother had not changed it. She sighed and turned from the room. Too quiet.
Outside she went, where she felt most calm. The soft grass provided a wonderfully cool blanket for her to lay on and briefly sleep. Linwe would enjoy being able to sit for awhile, just stay in one place for more than a few brightenings. Maybe she would be able to study and make her mother proud, where ever she was.
