Valentina continued to showcase just why, exactly, Delilah the Merciless had fallen for her in the first place. It was a shame that Delilah didn't have as much time as she wanted to simply ogle and adore the dancing piratess from afar, having another matter to tend to. If anything, it was incentive to end things as quickly as possible, since fighting this commodore was really doing nothing for Delilah in comparison.

It just didn't feel right to be cut by somebody else. The pain was hardly a factor, and there just wasn't that rush that Delilah got when sparring with Valentina - the sort of rush that usually had the two of them jumping into bed not long after. That sort of adrenaline served all sorts of uses, after all, and so it was easy to transition from one scenario into another with it pumping through their veins. In comparison, the current fight she was wielding was so... boring in comparison.

"You have a real obsession with whores, are you projecting a little?" Delilah taunted, taking a moment to spread her legs and strike a provocative, taunting pose.

If she wanted anybody to gut her on this bed, it would have been Valentina. Markalin knew that Valentina's sword was long enough to really get buried in Delilah's guts. As it was, the situation was doubly offensive - now the commodore was defiling the sanctity of her bed as well? Honestly, the gall of these people.

There was a collaboration between the Sliucha-Delilah facets of the scenario, an understanding that everything was being viewed through a certain sort of lens, and that some creativity would be needed in order to bring some of Sliucha's power to bear.

Knowing Sliucha, then, they might as well approach it in the most outlandish manner possible. It seemed to fit her impression of this Delilah character - merciless, ruthless, definitely a little crazy. Do whatever it takes to win, right?

Plus, it seemed like the commodore was doing something a little strange. Whatever he was planning, it probably wasn't any good. Best to wipe him out as quickly as possible, right?

There was a fight raging on outside. Who said that the "random hand of fate" couldn't intervene in their little duel?

Say, for instance, Sliucha wanted to use another offensive spell on her part. Something with plenty of punch to it, like a long crackling lance that could easily bisect a man, punch a solid hole through them. Just like a... well, a cannonball could do!

How tragic, that a cannonball fired in the fight outside might crash into the room, right into the commodore!

Sliucha's plan was enacted. A mysterious plucking of the hands of fate within the setting but in reality a machination of great will be an archmage using incredible skill and finesse without interrupting the setting with unnecessary flowery gestures and verbal coands like lesser magi relied upon to make their effects.

The spell itself had certain aspects to it. A ball of solid light that travelled with speed and power. It had the motion of light dart and the solidity of spear of light with the custom shape. It had come from outside which made the spell more complex as iucha relied upon memory to place the ball and aim it.

Light darts almost never missed their target but that rarely involved the light dart having mass being aimed from an unseen point and shot at the target. Each of these things complicated the aim but nevertheless the spell was a success!

It came out of no where. It seems no one had paid attention to the commotion outside anymore. Apparently the events outside were not quite so settled as suddenly a heated shot, a sizzling iron cannonball, burst through the cabin. It must have been at least a 24 pounder to have the force required to burst through the cabin!

Shares of splintered wood peppered everyone causing, well, splinters and skin abrasions everywhere. The noise and sudden devastation caught everyone's attention, even the fanatic man with his sword and axe who, decidedly, had not had a cannonball portrude into his body. It had been a near miss as the cannonball had brightly lit up his face as it travelled past showing that familiar look of a spellcaster and raving fanatic as it did so.

As the heated should passed by the sword burst into flame but it did not matter as the eyes that had been lit up, in an instant, recoiled and blinked away. That heated shot had travelled very close to the eyes and undoubtably had been very bright and very hot.

So there it was, the man had not made a strike at Delilah as the sword and axe instinctively flexed into a defensive posture.

Meanwhile the heated shot had landed on the ground charring the wood where it landed. It seemed it had not dissipated and would potentially start a fire unless dealt with sometime soon. It was near one of the sickly looking soldiers whose clothing would offer suitable fuel to kick off a fire.

Valentina, having been interrupted from the fight, stopped playing and gutted both in succession. She did not move to intercede with Delilah. Why would she? Delilah's own mind knew she would be furious at being saved and unable to prove her independence.

A shame that the man was whole and lacking a nice, cannonball-shaped hole in him.

Delilah didn't even miss a beat, however, unfazed by the 'errant' cannonball that had just sailed into her room and, frankly, been quite close to blowing her to bits. Even if "Sliucha" had been aiming to hit the commodore instead. The archmage had thought that her expertise would have done better than just a near miss, but oh well, such were the caprices of the world.

Back in bed, where Delilah was most comfortable. This was her domain, after all. And with the commodore in such a staggered state, it was best to take advantage. It seemed her more creative solutions to the problem at hand hadn't produced the results that she wanted. Something a little more straightforward, then?

In essence, more guns.

Always have stashes. Earlier, she'd grabbed a pistol for herself. Was it her only one? Hardly. A pirate captain naturally had many enemies. Never knew where you might be in a room when they sprung upon you. Unsurprisingly, Delilah slept with a pistol under her pillow, too.

Just pull that out and shoot the man in the face.

A bit of creative fudging was used to make the "spell" Sliucha used to fuel the shot stronger. Point-blank, high-level thaumaturgy shot. The man was staggered, and the shot would be from short-distance. And everybody knew that guns were "powerful", after all.

Blam!

Pew pew pew!

It might have seems strange to reach into a draw in the middle of a fight but reaching into a draw in bed was a little more common.

Delilah found exactly what she expected to find and pulled out a rather well maintained polished and ornate gun. Interestingly Sliucha would notice the secret signs and emblems of the court of the fox. Afterall why wouldn't a sexy pirate persona of Sliucha be anything but an enthusiast? Given the context it certainly made sense.

Perhaps a point blank light bolt masquerading as a powerful hand pistol-come-cannon was perhaps overkill but Delilah delivered a penetrating blow and a suitable hole for a piercing suitable to fit a 1-tonne brass ring through the chest.

Unfortunately the navy man would not be able to enjoy his new capacity for oversize fashion accessories because the chest contained several vital organs needed to live.

Even an archmage thaumaturg wouldn't be able to fix that one! Perhaps another magic would be more appropriate to 'restore' the man.

He was also far less chatty as he fell. Apparently Aslan couldn't care less about his fervent adherent as no divine intervention occured and with the leader down any of the navy not engaging someone left immediately.

"Well that was exciting" Valentina said clearly with her blood up "that fool man has been in the crowd a lot. Never participated, looked sour as grapes"

The hallucination seemed to be losing its lustre somewhat but they were still in a pirate ship. What remained was Delilah's proclivities and Sliucha began to return to the driver's seat.

"Nice gun!" said Valinetina as she appeared to perceive the weapon. Afterall what else could have blown the man away in the hands of the pirate. Surely Balentina would be aware enough of herself and of the hallucination to know otherwise but it was hard to deny reality granted by alchemical faery glamour.

"but if you aren't put off its time we rewarded ourselves!" said the pirates clearly still fully alert and interested in action.

Valentina made the first move but the events played out differently. She had been bent on conquesting Delilah but the approach had changed. This was passion of equals now.

The dead or dying did nothing to put off the Pirate who seemed at home with violence. Afterall, she was a pirate.
But how did Prienne feel? Sliucha? The hallucination was wearing off but she was just as much Delilah in the moment as herself... And Afterall now came the time to impress

There we go, that seemed to have done it. Sometimes you took a risk and wound up losing the gamble - that had been the cannonball. But it had all been a domino effect that had allowed for a far more standard option to do the job instead. The gods worked in mysterious ways, or something like that... namely, whatever patron god that commodore had very mysteriously let the man's head get blown to smithereens.

Or maybe Sliucha/Delilah's god was just... better?

Delilah puffed at the barrel of the pistol once it had done its job, smooching the tip as she winked over at Valentina. All's well that ends well, yes? It seemed they had managed to survive the ambush, although not without a fair bit of collateral damage. If Delilah managed to get out of this in one piece, her poor little living space was going to need a few renovations. Valentina wouldn't mind if the two of them shared a bed for a little while, would she?

The piratess was so eager to continue. Sliucha's general caution given the situation lent itself to Delilah's ruthlessness in ensuring that the job was done, however. Namely, there was no saying that this was the last of these interlopers, and the Merciless redhead wanted to make sure to put every last threat to the sword first before continuing her frisky sheet-rolling - if only because she didn't want to get interrupted a second time.

Delilah made sure to kick the commodore's corpse off her bed, if it had been so inconsiderate as to land upon it. "Nothing works me up like watching you in action," Delilah purred back at Valentina, her hands working particularly inefficiently as she made to reload the pistol - lots of pantomiming along the barrel that had nothing to do with reloading, certainly. Once she was done, she happily flashed the gun (not the barrel, but in a manner to show off the overall design) at Valentina, letting the various designs and emblems glint in the light.

"Almost as nice as yours," the shameless flirt noted, finally standing up from the bed. "And while I'm not put off, why don't we make sure there isn't anybody left to disturb us? I'd hate so much for some new batch of navymen to try and cut us off before..." Delilah looked Valentina up and down, tongue hungrily flicking over her lower lip. "...we're done with each other. Savvy?"

Two horny piratesses could nevertheless be responsible about matters, after all.

Valentina nodded in quiet, lust filled agreement. They should make sure they had enough time.

Editting the boat the internal logic of the hallucination, waning as it were, struggled with what it saw. There was heavy fog in a moonlit night. The fog made it seems as though the light travelled from every direction but the fog made sure it was din and only allowed them to see a small space.

What they saw was various people, sailors of pirate colours it seemed, left half baked and gutted. There were fewer than there had been when they had last been outside admiring the night so perhaps other pirates were still about?

Perhaps they had been captured by the navy. Whichever were the case there were still some pirates left over including those little pirates that Prienne rembered giving her the royal welcome before.

They were now armed as appropriate for a pirate with scimitar at the ready.

"Valentina, thank the Gods you are safe" one said very quickly

It was the man, Markus, from before. His concern sounded genuine but Valentina rebuffed the concern

"A bunch of bilgewater little rats like those?!" Valentina said "They were just in a hurry to die"

Had it played out differently had Delilah not been at her side? Probably. Would the outcome have been different? Now they will never know.

"What happened out here then?" Valentina asked in a stronger voice than had been employed so far

"Men overpowered the nightwatch and stormed in " Markus said simply "I had been caught out in a skirmish out back so could not respond to the front. It seemed these men were apparently Aslanites bent on rooting out and eradicating impropriety and dishonour in the name of their God"

So Delilah's suspicions that they were not the usual calibre of Navy had been right but .. why pretend to be imperial Navy? That was an interesting question for Delilah. For Sliucha not as much. The dual minds with one unable to see past the illusion and the other fully aware from behind the curtain that she were watching a play now had the task at hand.

The conversation killed a moment with enough time for the confused mind to speak up admidst the mess of floating gutted bodies floating about the place. As for Markus he were standing in a life raft. Apparebtly at some point he had gone overboard which explained the fact he were only in his skivvies. Real or imagined Prienne had more than enough material to see beneath the clothing and of course she remembered impeccable details of any object of desire. His skivvies showed him off as well endowed also. No surprises there.

Indeed, they were in agreement. How reasonable, for the two piratesses! Never mind that the two of them were like coiled tigers, the slightest little thing and they'd pounce all over each other no doubt. Wanting to make sure that the danger was over was just common sense, and yet Delilah wanted nothing more than to mash her lips against Valentina's at the moment and tumble into the bed she'd just murdered a man on to blow a few more cannons around here.

That desire would be channeled to fuel the anger she felt against the interlopers. Once again, the main issue was less the attempt on their lives, and more the interruption of what would have been a torrid fethfest between the two. Very well, time to resolve this stinker of an issue.

Out the two pirate captains came, unashamed of the state that the pair of them were in. Who was going to question the two queen bitches of the sea? Nobody, that's who.

It was just as much of a mess outside, it seemed. There was a real stink that lay over this whole affair, literally and figuratively, and Delilah didn't like it. They needed to get to the bottom of what had happened here, lest they be caught flatfooted once again.

Oh, but hello! As Markus apprised Valentina of the situation, Delilah took in a moment to drink in the (to her) newly introduced companion. A nice, tall drink it seemed. Valentina was the crux of it all, but there were a few nice bonuses that came along to their relationship besides just the pirate captain of course. Or would she be a little more possessive this time around?

"Well, that's quite illegal, isn't it?" Delilah smirked, tapping a finger to her lips. In the context of piracy, trying to impersonate the Imperial Navy was quite the serious crime. In the larger context of it all, trying to murder a bunch of people because you wanted to "root out" impropriety for religious purposes was also pretty illegal. At least in Moonstone. Delilah was perhaps less concerned with the motivation behind the impersonation. The means were less important than the intent. They'd tried to kill her, and it was because of them she wasn't currently being pounded into gunpowder. Enough reason to want to kill them all.

"Any survivors?" she asked next. "If we're lucky, we killed the bunch of cannon-suckers right here, right now. If not... we should figure out where the rest of them are, and make sure they're no trouble again in future."

"Aye, one fled the cabin you came out of." Markus said without even the slightest sense of urgency "They should be back any minute now"

Such confidence. Not a single doubt of success. Valentina similarly was the same. There was complete faith in this Jeb, whoever he was.

"It pays to have a decent tracker when you offer a tab to people in good faith" Valentina explained "in fact it always pays to have a decent tracker"

Well it seemed obviously true but possibly only if you had business or pirate interests of sufficient scope to make it worthwhile. Possibly in Valentina's world it was true. The farmer a few towns over probably had no need of such services except on the odd occasion where people leave foul beasts blocking their stream.

And on cue came a dorin. As the date magic and hallucinogenic influence faded the Doron looked every bit a fierce enforcer and adversary. A rough and ragged looking black furred tall walking hound with a mouth showing off an impressive array of sharp fangs with a tongue hanging out as he effortlessly lifted a poor looking excuse for a human in his right arm.

'arhis one wants to apologise" the furry enforcer spoke in harsh tones that sounded every bit able to curtail lesser men into obedience .

Indeed the demeanour of the 'sailor' had changed. The boils and oozing puss was no where to be seen although the face showed blemishes from the pox which had passed through the lands some decades before. He wasn't a young man but not overly old. He was clearly poor and his clothes showed signs of being fixed up multiple times. He had no business in this establishment, it was clear, so wasn't a customer.

Also notable was the pants. The Snell of fresh uriine and a dark patch on the patchwork breeches gave anyone with at least some capacity for thought a clear indication of why the sudden change of heart.

"I .... I... Am ... Sorry" sputtered the man shaming as he threw himself to the floor with his head bowed.

He couldn't seem to manage to say much else. Why? His face when lifted briefly before.bowing again was filled with fear. Fear of both of them, the two pirates. Or was it a fear of too naked women? Well Valentina and Delilah would find out.

"This is my house" Valentina boomed at the curtailing man "and you have shown terrible manners. You know I can make any man last as long as I want. It doesn't always have to be pleasure either"

The threat was clear. The glower and indignation flashed fierce in Valentina's eyes but despite all that she didn't lash out uncontrolled. No there was some discipline

"but I have a guest, a talented guest" Valentina said indicating Delilah out to the trembling man "Say Delilah? How does one punish an ardent follower of Aslan? I mean after this crawling maggot spills his guts"

It was handed over to Delilah to suggest what to do next. Just what did she have in mind?

Back any minute now? Looking around, it seemed that everybody else was just as happy with that as a response. Well! How could Delilah feel any different, when her compatriots were satisfied with that as a response? She simply nodded at the comment from Markus, before proceeding to listen to Valentina help further explain.

It was always good, really, to have competent underlings that one could rely upon. And it certainly made a leader look good if they had such underlings at their disposal. Delilah looked forward to meeting whoever it was that everybody around her was so confident in.

Right on cue, then, the man of the hour arrived. Here, then, was the disconnect between the roles once more.

Sliucha, after all, was salivating at the mouth. Look at that hunk of a dorin, she wanted a piece of that! Gimme! The possible foursome between herself, Markus, Aelia, and Valentina had now apparently been expanded to five, and- at this rate she really just needed the Piratess to go down her roster of customers, and perhaps she'd let Sliucha just enjoy a buffet? Want! Want bone!

None of this really carried over to Delilah, as Sliucha's fantasies remained safely locked away for now. The piratess simply took note of the fact that the enforcer had, indeed, successfully returned with his target - a gold star for him for having done his job. Quite worthy of approval.

Still, taking in the fellow that the dorin had brought long, he really seemed to be a sorry bastard, didn't he? It was hard to imagine that he was part of the same lot as that commodore fellow who had burst into Delilah and Valentina's bedroom. There was a scoff of disdain, a shaking of her head as she realized the sodding git had gone and wet himself. This was the caliber of person that had been sent against her? She was offended.

Ah, but how to get the man to talk? There was always the threat of violence, of course, the man didn't seem to have much of a spine. Delilah the Merciless would probably be able to think of enough threats to bring the man to tears and spill the information they needed to know, but it seemed like Valentina was still holding back a touch. This was Valentina's show, so Delilah decided not to push matters - she'd had some scathing words ready.

"When it comes to properly spoiling a man of Aslan, there's only one good solution of course," Delilah noted, looking over to Valentina. She grinned, stroking a hand between her legs, obviously referring to the strapping cannon Delilah wielded. "You soil his honor, of course. You taint his soul. If you just kill a man of Aslan, he still goes to his god with honor. Deny him that, and he has nothing. Isn't that right?"

There was a vulgar gesture made with her fingers, involving the penetration of a ring. "If he makes for so poor a man, perhaps a turn as a lass might fare better for him? But I hope he understands, we're both in terrible moods at the moment." Delilah spread her arms out wide. "Such a lovely evening planned! So much fun that could have been had! We could still be having fun right now, you and I, Valentina! But some inconsiderate lot came in and spoiled all of that, and our moods are terribly soured."

A pause. "That could change, depending on what that man decides to tell us. If he speaks what we wish to know. And I hope he understands, that it would be very wise for him to ensure that we are in good moods."

Smile! "Because otherwise, he gets to learn why they call me the Merciless. Isn't that right, Valentina, love?"

Whatever was in Valentina's mind? The ruthless pirate need not asked for advice so that could mean any number of things.

"Dishonour before their God?" Valentina mused "Little lovely Aslanite, do you know how much people pay for the dishonour you should be enjoying?"

The Piratess was being soft in language but that only worked to be more sinister as the mismatch between deed and word was truly discordant to someone on the receiving end.

Having digested Delilah's words and suggestions the man looked truly horrified.

"Yo-you can't!" the man said as if his protestations would matter "That's rape!*

The man seemed quite indignant and adamant that it would be wrong and seemed to finally find some small bit of steel if only on a point of order that did nothing to save his reputation

"Well he got us there, Delilah" Valentina mocked "I guess us pirates better go and ask this man permission for his plunder. Write a good letter, get written and signed consent."

Markus, standing ready but not otherwise intervening let out the smallest smile. The eyes betrayed more mirth but it seemed he would not intervene on centre stage of Valentina's drama

"Although. ." Valentina added "Who is going to believe that you didn't consent?. Inside this whorehouse where so very many men come and come again? You may as well drop the cascade, dear little aslanite, and give in to your true intentions"

Valentina then mused and decided upon a course of action

"A wager then" Valentina said letting Prienne and Delilah know the terms "My ship joins your fleet if you can bring this man willingly to dishonour. Your ship joins man if you can't"

Valentina seemed amused. Perhaps she knew that she had Delilah at a disadvantage as asking permission was never her string suit. Still the prize would tempt the piratess. Valentina was no stranger to the hallucinogen and knew the effect was wearing thin. She were certain Prienne would be cogniscent enough to understand.

But just in case .... "Homage to whosoever wins the wager"! Valentina said sounding truly excited to watch an unwilling man broken to willingness.

"That's rape!" Delilah said in a mocking tone, throwing her hands up in mock horror at the very suggestion. Oh, no, they couldn't do that! How dare they suggest something like that! So vulgar, so crass. They couldn't! It was inappropriate! It was evil! It was like... like... murder! Just as bad as trying to murder somebody, wasn't it?

"Just like they sent us a letter asking us for permission to kill us, naturally," Delilah noted, voice positively dripping in sarcasm and disdain at the moment. "Or did our friend conveniently forget about that little detail, hm? Or he is so audacious to think himself an innocent victim?"

There was a scoff at Valentina's offer, Delilah not really seeing all that much value in the wager. The two of them had practically made up at this point, anyhow, and Delilah was really being asked to lower herself to try and tempt this sorry sod? Nevertheless, there was a bit of pride on the line, and even if purely titular, the idea of who would be the "top" between the two of them was something worth fighting for. But, Delilah would approach this in a manner appropriate to her.

In a manner appropriate to Deillah the Merciless.

She strut over to the man, then, no shame in the way she simply crouched down in front of him, utterly naked, a wicked and sadistic grin on her face as she glared down at him. "Understand one thing. Not too long ago, you were begging for our forgiveness, and oh so happy to apologize. Most days, you'd learn why exactly they call me the Merciless, and the idea that," her tone of voice went a little more high-pitched, much more mocking, "oh no, you might just be raped instead," before returning to normal, "is ever so pleasant in comparison. You and your friends tried to murder us. Don't forget that."

She reached out with her hand, squeezing his cheeks with her thumb on one side, the fourth and fifth fingers on the other - her second and third fingers placed just a little below the eyes. A very threatening position. "But that beautiful piratess over there has convinced me otherwise. Convinced me that I shouldn't end your miserable life. That I shouldn't make it sloooooow, make you suffer. Make you bleed." Her hands squeezed harder, her two fingers slightly digging, uncomfortably, into the eye socket - although not intending any damage.

"Cut off your tongue. Scoop out those pretty little eyeballs. Make a eunuch out of you. Slowly, painfully, and you would only die when I let you. Understand? I could be in a baaaaaad, bad mood." She slowly flicked her tongue over her lower lip, smiling maliciously down at the man. "Whatever you think I "can't" do, I would. You have no power here. I am stronger, greater, more powerful than a pathetic little maggot like you could ever hope to be. All you can do is what you were doing earlier - hope. Pray. Beg."

Delilah released her hold on the man's face, grimacing and shaking her hand, as if she'd handled some garbage, before turning her gaze back onto him.

"That is why you will be happy with the current circumstances. You can either be a fish for me to gut, or a dog for me to command. But even that is not a decision for you to make, see." Delilah stood up, cracking her knuckles, still smiling. "Even if you choose to be a fish, I will break you. I will break you until you are an obedient dog, until you scream and beg for the chance to show me how obedient you are. Because I don't plan on losing this wager, you see."

And, for her new pet, her first command.

"On your back, worm," Delilah spoke, gesturing with a finger for the man to turn over. "Or does the dog need his first lesson in obedience?"
