Stock standard, perhaps, but somebody whose time was practically spent entirely in Moonstone didn't exactly get opportunities to get a read on that sort of thing. It was probably inevitable that some places in Moonstone, with the influx of population of those around the Empire, had begun to inherit some designs, but for the most part? Well, Sliucha did better for her people, you know?

Sliucha was definitely one of those weirdos who, despite being high up in the hierarchy, actually cared about the people below her! Maybe it's because she'd been at the very bottom at one point in her life? Either way, there was a sense of superiority that her Temple wasn't nearly as bland as what she was seeing around her now.

If anything, it certainly seemed like they'd arrived at the right place on account of recognizing some familiar faces!

Sliucha poked her head into the room where she'd spotted the trio, waving at Nadeko and Izuko and Rielle. "Hiiiiii~!" Hello, hello! "How's everybody been?"

Perspective was key! And few that existed amongst the powerful and wealthy had quite the depth of experience about how it was to be at the very bottom of the social ladder too. At least, not at the beginning of their story - falling from great heights into the absolute ruin tended to be the more common trajectory of such a tale.

Rags to Riches was, by and large, a fairy tale because it was such a rarity.

Dynne looking about in general bemusement as she idly picked at one of her fingernails, gnawing at what appeared to be a hangnail and not really caring all that much about their situation. Not when she’d been so very recently informed as to Sliucha’s thoughts towards the High Priestess of Haya and the prospect of carnage ensuing. No, outwardly? The picture of calm indifference as Sliucha went about ‘slumming’ with the servants.

Inside? Bristling with anxiety and wanting to either scream at the top of her lungs or hide behind Sliucha as the closest thing the Vysstichi had ever found to be a bulkward of safety.

Nadeko and Izuko looking up from their game with a note of confusion, though wearing smiles of equal delight at Sliucha’s presence. Cheerleading practice might have meant that the pair perhaps weren’t cut out for State Finals/Championships, but they’d given it their all and were all too happy to see the High Priestess of Alithea.

Rielle on the other hand had once again adopted the failing strategy usually reserved for rampaging Tyrannoids. Freeze! If you didn’t move, the scary thing couldn’t see you, right?! Right!

Hello hello!

Nadeko and Izuko not seeming to mind the interruption, and Rielle? Still very much Rielle! So, well, that was nice, Sliucha supposed, some things never changed. There was just a wave sent Rielle's way as she decided not to overly torment the servant for now, and instead directed her attention to the pair at their board game instead.

"Just thought I'd check in, see how things were going after dinner," she noted, stepping over to observe what was going on with the board as if she knew the rules of the game at all (she didn't). In the end, she was Alithea's champion and a High Priestess, so surely there was some sense of kinship between herself and the other Alitheans here? Even if it was one-sided on her part, Sliucha couldn't help but fuss a bit over her new friends.

"Any idea on how the others are doing?" Considering there'd, you know, been a full dozen individuals among the Ves'Alithean servants earlier, obviously this wasn't all of them. "Do you all work in shifts? Are you three currently on break?" Sliucha wondered what the system was for determining who got assigned to what work.

Just being curious how the operations here worked!

Friends had definitely been made!

As first impressions went, Sliucha’s had almost universally been a winner amongst the servants of the Temple of Carnal Love. A High Priestess that was not only approachable and didn’t try to make them miserable, but actively encouraged pleasure? It was a novelty all of its own.

That Sliucha’s initial offering of ‘employment’ within the Temple of Sinful Delights had been met with wariness tended towards the naturally cautious nature of any who lived within Vysstichi society. If it sounded too good to be true, not only was it the case - but one was likely about to be stabbed, maimed or otherwise murdered for even considering such undue optimism.

Rielle? Very much Rielle. As Alithean’s went, she really didn’t fit into the standard stereotypes and remained ever wary of attracting attention.

As far as the game board went? Izuko seemed to be winning. Or at least she had the most number of pieces left upon its surface. More pieces was more points? Perhaps. It looked like somewhere between a game of Checkers and a game of Go, with the rules being left unsaid and for Sliucha to interpret however she saw fit.

“Working, sleeping?” Nadeko offered up with a gesture back outside, in case Sliucha wanted to go searching through the Temple or needed to know which door to go knock on. “Was there anyone you were after specifically High Priestess?” She added with a suitably servile touch of respect thrown in just in case the pointing gesture was taken as a shooing one.

“But yes, High Priestess.” Izuko added quickly. “Sleeping shift, working shift, working shift. There is an hour set between all shifts for personal time and wellbeing.” Which, admittedly, was mostly spent either getting clean for the day or mealtime. Actually having leisure time tended to require careful planning or skipping a meal.

"Mmm, not really!" Sliucha noted at Nadeko's question asking whether she'd been looking for somebody in particular. "Just figured I'd check in, make sure there haven't been any problems, nobody trying to bully you for hanging out with me or anything." Even if there had been an 'understanding' at the moment between the two Temples, this was the Temple of Carnal Love, and all that went along with it being a Vysstichi powerhouse.

AKA people were jerks.

Hey, if people were going to be stabbed, maimed, or otherwise murdered, then Sliucha might as well do what she could to at least prevent such from happening (for as long as possible) to her fellow Alitheans, right?

"I made quite the impression during my introduction, see. I don't think there's really been any High Priestess like me before," she explained simply, nodding along at the pair's explanation of how it all worked. Presumably everybody who was currently here was taking their 'break' period in between shifts, then.

"Does each group have its own set of people, or are you... universal?" Sliucha asked, a mixture of genuine curiosity and a desire to gather information fueling her questions. "Like, would you be called upon to help a Hayan? Or only Alitheans? Do they even interact with you very much?"

“Fair enough!” the servant replied with equal cheer, “No, nobody trying to bully us? I mean, we were asked to make sure you had the Temple’s complete hospitality but that’s quite normal.” The Cheerleading session? Not so much by way of normal, but then that was something they’d figured was a Sliucha thing. Especially when none of the other High Priestesses had ever behaved in such a manner and definitely didn’t fraternise so closely with ‘the Help’.

But people were jerks, and in the here and now, only Rielle seemed to be having issues with Sliucha’s presence. And even that was only in the manner of stock-standard paralysis.

“Like none other before you.” Izuko confirmed with a hint of approval, quite won over by Sliucha having such a wonderful way with first impressions.

“None within our lifetimes anyway.” Nadeko confirmed, both when it came to general behaviours, race (just what was Sliucha anyway?! Neither could pin her down what with the tails…) and functional hermaphrodites were almost non-existent in a Vysstichi society that had very clear rules for the Matriachy and men’s roles within it. That the Prince of Vortex had put something of a question mark set against long standing social standings only complicated it the further.

Rielle, finally found the topic a touch safer and went with the approach of if she answered one question, she might be left alone for future interrogations. Quiet as she was, eyes downcast lest Sliucha turn her attentions once more upon the wilted Vysstichi.

“In the past, there was enough of us to only have to serve the followers of the Goddess we ourselves served.” Rielle stammered awkwardly, “It kept accidents to a low, not having Hayan’s or Zyrgran’s using other servants…” mutilating Alithean’s or infecting them with various diseases had been considered ‘bad form’ especially when they tended to service the public facing side of the Temple of Carnal Love.

“Now, there isn’t enough of us so it’s… a general pool.” Rielle finished, only to try to curl up upon herself and fade once more into the background.

Just by dint of not being a full-blooded Vysstichi, Sliucha was probably already quite unique in her very existence when it came to the Temple of Carnal Love. Everything else after that was wholly extraneous in being "different", whether it was the tails and the ears or the philosophy that was injected into her brand of Alitheanism, or anything else for that matter, really.

It had been a point of friction for some in the early days of Sliucha's own fledgling Temple, sure. But at the end of the day? There was something to be said about the simplicity of "might makes right." What use was a faithful individual if they had nothing to contribute to a divine agenda?

Anyway, it did seem like servants in general could find themselves serving whoever happened to need assistance at the time, as opposed to a specific set of clientele. Beggars couldn't be choosers and all that sort of thing. Even without the divisions between the various faiths - Alitheans only serving Alitheans and so on - was any consideration in place when it came to the skill of the servant in question?

"How's it decided who actually goes if something needs to be done?" Sliucha asked, simply nodding at Rielle's answer and doing the girl a favor by not directly acknowledging her presence, which it felt like would be appreciated. The question was therefore posed in general to those around her, rather than directed at any single person. "I imagine that for general tasks there's some sort of system, but say the bell is rung. Tok came running along when we rang the bells, is that just... it's her turn? Whoever's available and feels like going? Is there ever any consideration for who rang for help?"

They knew who Sliucha was talking about, right? Could they all pronounce Tok's name correctly and thus not use the nickname? Would they know who 'Tok' was?

“Rock, paper, scissors usually at the beginning.” Izuko stated simply, “Winner basically means getting a slightly longer break out of it and keeps it fair.” Only to throw a sidelong look at Rielle, “Well, mostly. I still think you’re cheating somehow.” which only served to make Rielle blush and turn away in embarrassment. Someone won perhaps a little too often in the simple game and tended to have very reliably longer breaks than her companions.

“Tok lost, Tok goes running. Admittedly, we were a little confused when the bell kept ringing… but if needed, Tok would have sent the correct sequence through your bell to summon additional servants.” suffice that Sliucha ringing the bell non-stop hadn’t been an issue for all Tok had been initially abrasive about it. That one just didn’t quite mesh with the older servants that had been there before the Vysstichi Civil War and had a better understanding of the system the High Priestesses were trying to re-create.

That none of them could say Tok’s name correctly was indeed a reality where Sliucha and her companions were not even remotely unique. That even amongst Elves, there was something outlandish about the servants pronunciation that didn’t quite mesh with the others. No, someone remained very much out of place even if the tells were small, that they didn’t really belong on the Medonian Continent. Or at least hadn’t been raised there. Freeport perhaps, or beyond that had once been blocked by the Veil.

“She always goes rock, once you know that it’s easy.” Rielle muttered sotto-voice more to herself than anything and in defensive tones,

Theoretically, then, somebody could be unlucky enough to always lose the rock, paper, scissors matches?

Still, there was something to be said about the bell system. Sliucha's own Temple had a far more haphazard sort of approach to things, which worked fine when it had basically been s a small little startup out in the wilderness. Now that things were more settled and complicated, a revamp was definitely in order at some point. Having an attendant per room was too much, but the current 'try to just flag down somebody running around' approach obviously wouldn't work forever...

Something to think about!

"Well, I don't want to take up too much time, since you're on break and all," Sliucha noted with a smile. "I just wanted to get a bit of a look around. Would you say there's anything interesting around here to peruse?" For a given definition of 'interesting', at any rate. On the one hand, what could possibly be interesting to an Alithean High Priestess in a place like this? On the other hand, Sliucha was here, and that already probably beggared belief for somebody of her 'station.' So even something like a laundry room, or anything more than just somebody's quarters, could perhaps count?

Failing that, of course, the plan was just to wander around on her own and take in the sights! There were other places she also wanted to see, but she was just as curious about this place!
