A bit of wandering told Sliucha that the best place would likely be the top of the temple. While the second floor did have many large windows and balconies, they only provided a view from a specific angle.

There were no stairwells that made their way to the roof, but the architecture was easily climbed if Sliucha wished it.

To be fair, however, even the window views could be useful. The lamians were coming from a single direction it seemed. It was a large armed group, they had been told there was a potential riot brewing and it was important to put these dorin down violently. They had amassed plenty of soldiers for the fight. Bearing torches and wielding their weapons, they marched in something of a haphazard mob, spread out and looking for the purported enemy. They were rapidly approaching the temple grounds.

It took Sliucha a fair amount of puttering about before she managed to get a view that seemed to be what she wanted. When it seemed like the interior of the temple provided viewpoints that were a little too limited, going up seemed like the best alternative. A bit of climbing and soon enough she had a nice view of Nadir - and the incoming group of lamians. So it seemed like her erstwhile allies had held up their end of the bargain.

Now it was time for Sliucha to do her part. First things first, of course, was to get their attention. They had been promised a riot, they might as well get the battle they were looking for.

It would be a nice little display of thaumaturgy magicks. Explosions, bright bursts of light, all that sort of thing. Something to make sure the lamians could rush in expecting a fight, you know? Pew pew pew! She wanted them bunched up and as close to the temple as possible.

That did seem to get the attention of the lamians. They came swarming, heading for the temple, some of them moving to flank from the other side, the bulk charging right down the middle. What did they have to fear from these dorin, after all? It seemed most of the lamians wielded long polearms, although there were a few loitering in the back with bows and arrows, looking for targets.

Aha! That seemed to have done it. Sliucha hadn't wanted to engage the lamians while they were too far away - they would wise up the moment her first attack went out, making it easier for them to get away. If they were closer to the temple, she had more time to dish out damage among their ranks. She didn't need to kill all of them, after all, just sow disarray among them and plummet their morale. That would perhaps be enough for the rest of the dorin to finish the job.

Although she would try. That would just make things easier. Did she feel a little bad about massacring the lamians? Not enough to be bothered about it, considering the current occupation of Nadir.

Take out those in the back first, then. Have an array of glittering lances soar through the air and pierce through the ranks of the archers. Then, a battery of massive burning pillars to smash into the masses of lamians charging into the temple. Thaumaturgy? Not the most offensive sphere in the world. Going up against another sphere, the level of massive damage couldn't quite compare.

An archmage nevertheless produced results.

Perhaps the lamians had been a little reckless. They knew of Sliucha's presence in the city, she had not exactly gone unnoticed. She stuck out like a sore thumb and word of her humiliation had quickly spread among the lamian ranks. Perhaps that was why they had not expected this level of fury. She had been expected to return from whence she came with her tail behind her legs. Yes, she had provided a bit of a display but the lamian priestess had surely whipped her.

Their arrogance saw them reaped by Sliucha. The archers tried to get out of the way of the lances but they traveled with unnerving speed, cutting through them. So too did the barriers find the clumped together groups of guards, unable to do anything except burn to ash within them. With the light show beginning, it seemed that events were occurring elsewhere. Sliucha could hear the faint roar of fighting suddenly starting in the distance, throughout the city.

The lamians were panicking. It was difficult to distinguish an accomplished mage from one at Sliucha's level. They were scattering. This was beyond them.

It was a little cathartic, Sliucha admitted. The debacle from earlier had led to mounting frustrations, and actually doing something to the benefit of Nadir rather than its detriment? It really did feel quite good. Liberating, perhaps. At the top of the temple there really wasn't any way for them to get to her, after all, and so she picked them off as best she could.

There would be diminishing returns, of course. Once a certain amount of the enemy were dead, well, it was mostly wasted effort going for the stragglers. Sliucha did her best to ensure that the message was sent, however.

So what to do now? Support efforts elsewhere. If she was lucky, Sliucha could get her chance to get revenge on a certain priestess. That was, perhaps, secondary to ensuring that Nadir got through this second rebellion just fine, though. With any luck, this time, ousting the lamians would be a little more permanent.

She headed into the city, looking for trouble. How was the uprising faring elsewhere?

The lamians scattered before her. It seemed nobody was daring enough to try and lay in wait for her by the time Sliucha descended. It seemed that her dorin companions had staged riots all throughout the city, for there seemed to be several hot zones.

Sliucha could divert to these more minor locations. However, the games were being held in the stadium, and it seemed there was something big going on down there. Then again, the most dorin were likely to be there as well, so perhaps she was unneeded. It was also the most likely place her priestess rival was going to be.

All in all, the lamian forces were greatly diminished thanks to Sliucha. Most of the minor locations she passed by, she could see the dorin rebels having the upper hand. Small lamian guard posts overrun and burning, successful raids to acquire weapons, and other such things.

Sliucha had started off wanting this to ultimately be a rebellion that the dorin themselves had initiated and succeeded at. Hadn't she set off thinking that? It was the sort of thing that she did need to remind herself of, now that she was wandering the streets, wondering if she could perhaps blow Nishea's head up.

If the dorin didn't need her - now that she had accomplished her task - then there was no need to step in unnecessarily.

Sliucha would seek out areas where it seemed the rebels were faltering, and use her skills to turn the tide. As subtly as possible, mind, providing armor for the rebels, strengthening them, buffing them as opposed to outright attacking. She decided to go for the outlying areas first, and then if matters had yet to conclude, it would be time to go to the stadium.

With any luck, Nadir would be liberated tonight.

Sliucha traveled through the city of Nadir, distributing gifts to the good dorin boys and girls as they fought their lamian oppressors. In those situations where things looked dire, her gifts allowed the dorin to turn the tide. What had been a slight advantage quickly snowballed into a large rout for the lamians, most of whom had begun a retreat from the city.

By the time she arrived at the stadium, it seemed the lamians had fully routed. It was a victory for Nadir. The lamian dead were many, and the dorin had not taken any prisoners. There had been losses as well, but while the denizens of Nadir were bloodied, they had enacted a decisive victory.

Unfortunately for Sliucha, her revenge would go unfulfilled. It did not take long to find Rek's and the others, and the alpha simply threw the priestess' head at her feet with a grimace.

So that was it then, was it? It was a shame that Sliucha hadn't been there, but if anything, this achieved her goal better than anything. The citizens of Nadir were the ones who had done in the priestess. She merely nodded at Rek's, surveying the stadium. It had not been an easy fight, but they had achieved a victory nonetheless.

For now, Nadir was free. But they needed to reorganize, and quickly.

"We need to build off this momentum," she noted, considering Nadir won. "Rek's, do you think we're able to go after Zenith? Or will we need time for the people here to recover?"

They didn't actually have much information on the situation in Zenith. However, Sliucha imagined that the survivors of Nadir would likely use that as a place to fall back to, and Zenith could become a stronghold that needed to be besieged. Or, perhaps, there were outposts in between that they didn't even know about. Winning Nadir was a great victory, but they weren't out of the woods yet.

Rek's agreed that they needed to take the initiative and immediately head out after the lamian stragglers. However, he also knew that they were not the ones in charge here. He would go and seek out the leaders of Nadir in order to formulate their next decision. In the meantime, there were wounded that Sliucha could tend to.

It did not take long for him to return. Victory was fresh on the minds of everybody and perhaps they were all swept up by it. Nadir believed that Zenith had a smaller garrison, as the priestess had been located in Nadir. They could not spare too many people, as holding Nadir was also crucial. Nevertheless, they would put together a task force and set out immediately.

Mop up the stragglers in the desert, and sweep through Zenith. This was the plan. Sliucha was free to tag along.

Sliucha did what she could for the wounded dorin that she could find or were brought to her. When Rek's returned to her, she ultimately decided not to go along with them. She felt that it was more appropriate for her to be here, to use her healing talents to save as many lives as she could. She would likely follow along after a while, if only to assist those who were wounded in the operation to defeat the lamians to the north.

For now, however, she would set up a medical station in Nadir. Considering time was of the essence, Sliucha focused primarily on the heavily wounded. Stabilization was the priority, and after that, proper healing. In the coming days they could look into proper medical care, but for now it was a matter of triage.

She assumed that the situation in Nadir would eventually stabilize as well. Once she felt that was the case, it was time to head out north. Sliucha didn't think that Zenith was going to be taken without any casualties, and so her healing talents could be made use of there as well. She approached the Nadir officials and asked if she could be provided some supplies for the trip.

The people of Nadir had a paid a price for their liberation. Still, it was not the first time. There were dead to be buried, but there were also injured who could yet be saved. It was quickly realized the extent of Sliucha's talents. Those with more minor injuries were quickly shuffled into other medical encampments, whereas those in serious peril were given to her to deal with. With only limited resources on hand, there was only so much that could be done for some. However, she was capable of stabilizing all those that she came across. Many lives were inevitably saved.

Working tirelessly, eventually all of the major cases sorted themselves out. There would need to be further care later down the line for many of them but for those who were on the brink, they had now been safely pushed towards life. As a result, when Sliucha requested supplies for a northward trip, she was given them in gratitude. There was also a task force from Nadir that was requested to accompany Sliucha. Whatever the situation in Zenith was, more bodies would hopefully help stabilize it there as well.
