It seemed the path to Zenith would be a little more difficult than Sliucha thought. However, she felt like she had to stop at Hakaar with the presence of wounded. She couldn't imagine that the dorin who had set out from Nadir had the best medical supplies on hand, and so the wounded had likely only received minimal treatment in the meantime. Plus, the logistical capacity to get them back to Nadir was likely also limited.

They were right smack dab between Nadir and Zenith so it was difficult to tell whether it would be easier to try and get them back to Nadir, or see about bringing them along to Zenith. Actually, it was probably best not to dwell on that for too long. Sliucha immediately set to work doing what she had done in Nadir, namely stabilizing those who were in critical condition and looking after serious injuries.

Only once that was done would she try and get the advice of the others. Did they have the ability to move the wounded? She didn't want to just leave them here at Hakaar. And if they could, should they send them back to Nadir, and have the rest continue to Zenith? Or should they all head towards Zenith?

With the number of individuals present at Hakaar, it did not take long for Sliucha to go through all of them.

Consulting the others, they believed that it was most prudent to push on to Zenith. Perhaps there was impatience among them that wanted to see this through. It was hard to say which was the best idea. But if the situation here was resolved, they wished to go assist at Zenith.

There were enough among them that the injured could be reliably transported.

So it would be.

They would pack up the wounded as best as possible. Sliucha wouldn't want to sacrifice their health for speed, however. Only if they were reliably secured would she want to move forward with this. But, as best they could, the group would begin the move to Zenith.

They journeyed on towards Zenith, although the presence of the wounded slowed them down. Those who could walk volunteered to do so, and those who were unable to do so were carried with makeshift stretchers, or on the pack animals that were carrying Sliucha and the others' supplies through the desert.

Luckily, Zenith was prepared to receive them. Hakaar had bought some of the lamians time to arrive in the city. It seemed the remainder of the garrison here had decided to flee as quickly as possible. By the time the liberation force from Nadir had arrived, the lamians had fled, and by now the appetite to chase any further was gone.

Zenith and Nadir were liberated, and so Sliucha and the others arrived in the midst of celebration. The wounded were quickly ushered to the hospitals, of course.

It wasn't going to be the end of the struggle, not by any means. Sliucha was cognizant of the fact that a sizable lamian contingent had managed to escape Zenith, along with what stragglers had managed to escape Nadir and not perish at Hakaar. Truth be told, however, this was a little bit in the back of her mind upon the arrival to Zenith. In some ways, the fact that there didn't need to be any further loss of life came as something of a relief, even if it meant that there were now a number of lamians at large that had shown they did not have the best interests of the Imperial citizenry in mind.

Nevertheless, the important thing was that the lamian occupation of the desert territories had now ended. The first priority afterwards would, yes, be to get those who needed care into the proper medical infrastructure present in the city. Sliucha would let the people of Zenith and Nadir figure things out on their own for now - the larger conversation involving the cities and the province of Moonstone could occur later. Sliucha instead pushed to work on the proper recovery of those with serious injury, where previously she had only made sure to stabilize them.

Presumably, Rek's and the others would be able to track her down if they really wanted to find her. Otherwise, Sliucha would keep to the hospitals and utilize her thaumaturgy.

There was a lack of resources present at Zenith to assist Sliucha, but at the very least they had hospital structures which could temporarily store the patients for now. It was entirely likely that the most seriously wounded would need to be transported to Ziel Aerca for Sliucha to properly work her magic, both literally and figuratively. However, there was time enough for her to get to work on some of the more major cases she'd needed to work quickly on before, now given enough time to treat them properly.

Ve'Kan eventually tracked Sliucha down. There was a great deal of celebrating going on, but also a great amount of uncertainty. Nadir and Zenith were free, but where were they going to progress from here? The cities were still two distinct entities. How long until the Nadir warriors returned home? What would they do from there? How could they protect themselves from the lamians if they returned once again?

"I think it is time a discussion was had with the governor," the dorin noted none too subtly.

There was, in essence, a lot of cleanup work left for them all to do.

"Let's schedule something as quick as possible," Sliucha noted to Ve'kan. There had been a lot of medical work, and there remained a lot of medical work, that needed to be done. The scars of the occupation would take quite some time to heal, never mind the emotional trauma that the occupied dorin had likely gone through. Nevertheless, working out an agreement as soon as possible would perhaps help expedite these processes.

"Can you go to the leaders of Nadir and Zenith and arrange something? We need to know when we'll meet, and where. Try to push for something soon - with any luck I'll still be here." There was a gesture towards all of the patients around her. She would stay to make sure they were properly tended to. Otherwise, it would really be rather inconvenient to have to leave, go to Ziel Aerca, and then come all the way back for the meeting.

Sliucha was wary of contamination building up too much in the hospitals, and so spent her time rotating through facilities, asking if the hospitals wouldn't mind transporting patients as necessary. She explained to them, if needed, the perils of excess magic use in a single area. That wouldn't be good. And with this many war wounded, thaumaturgy was likely needed in ample amounts.

Ve'kan bowed his head, before excusing himself to do as Sliucha had asked. It would take some time for the matter to be resolved, as word needed to be sent back to Nadir. This would allow Sliucha plenty of time to finish her work in Zenith. Ultimately, as Zenith hadn't been besieged, there were not that many wounded, only those from Hakaar. Although, the lamians had not been terribly kind during their time here, and so there were some from the civilian populace Sliucha could help.

Eventually, she would learn that a meeting was scheduled at Zenith, with leaders from both Zenith and Nadir to be present. She was, of course, invited, for the meeting on the next day. They would meet at the town hall.

Luckily, it seemed like Sliucha was making plenty of headway when it came to her medical work. There was only so much that could be done with the resources she had at hand, but she was definitely maximizing on that particular range of endeavor. She imagined that in the forthcoming meeting there would need to be discussions as to what would be done about the more heavily injured, but until then, all that could be done was to ensure they remained as healthy as possible.

When the meeting was finally scheduled, she summoned her various pack members to once more serve as her bodyguard retinue. It was only appropriate for somebody of her station, after all. Then, once the time was appropriate, they would all go over to the town hall to attend the summit.

They were going to need to figure out, in the aftermath of the lamian occupation, what they were going to do to prevent it from happening again, as well as the looming question of integration back into the Imperium. Sliucha would allow the people of Nadir and Zenith to steer the course of discussion, however.

The surviving leadership of Nadir and Zenith had set up the meeting, coming together to discuss what the future for both of the cities would be. Despite differences in clan, it was obvious that in this time of crisis, or at the very least in the aftermath of such a time, that cooperation was needed going forward to some extent. There were some members of the Nadir entourage who obviously held the governor in some disdain, growling and muttering at her appearance, not forgetting her degenerate display in front of the lamians. In general, as well, could not be forgotten that the Imperium had left the cities to fend for themselves. However, Sliucha had also played a role in the liberation, and had also been instrumental in healing many wounded in the aftermath. There would be many more dead if not for her, and perhaps they would all still be lamian slaves.

When it became obvious that Sliucha did not seem to intend to lead the discussion, the Nadir contingent cautiously began the conversation. For the second time, they had beaten pack the lamians. It was a far more decisive victory as well, for many of the lamians had fallen. They had observed based on their previous rebellion that the lamians did not seem to be bolstering their ranks. It was unlikely that the remnants could recover from this loss. However, this did not mean that some other group could eventually try something similar.

Zenith, being the closer of the two to the foreign territories, pressed for some way to properly defend against further incursions. Sliucha could sense they were happy to strike a bargain. With the occupation fresh on their minds, they were eager to cooperate with an initiative that could see them free in the long-term.

Nadir seemed more hesitant about working together with Sliucha. Nevertheless, they could also not deny that the two cities on their own were vulnerable. They balked at the idea of simply trading one oppressor for another, however, being very vocal about this intention. While they did not mention it outright, how could they trust a massive slut like Sliucha, who might sell them out for a good night's fething? That was the impression she got from some of the more hostile members of their group, although not all seemed to be quite so hostile. It seemed that even Sliucha's fiercest opponents were too honorable, or perhaps too cowardly, to outright attack her.

It was a lot to think about. For the most part, Sliucha simply hung back and listened to what the delegations had to say. Having not embarrassed herself in front of the people of Zenith, it seemed they had something of a better impression of her. She did her best to retain her neutral expression at the implications of what some of the more hostile members of the Nadir delegation had to say about her - doing her best not to stick her tongue out at them, for instance. Given her usually crass nature, it was a little difficult not to be open about the fact that, yes, she was quite the slut for lamians. Just as she was for dorin, or dracon, or any myriad of other such things. But these were things for the bedroom and had no place in politics.

Eventually, a point was reached where it seemed like it might be appropriate for Sliucha to speak. In essence, Zenith was far more lenient in regards to the deal that it wanted, whereas Nadir seemed to be pushing a bit for concessions in the aftermath of Sliucha having made a fool of herself. Well, that's what she got for being... herself. An important lesson when it came to politics!

"Perhaps we could consider the arrangement to be something more of an alliance, as opposed to..." Her hands waffled a bit in the air. She wasn't entirely sure what to call the usual relationship between a governor and the cities within their province. Were they vassals? Not quite. Allies? That probably wasn't the usual term. Dependents? Maybe! "Whatever one might expect. We can discuss what that means, but I imagine that there would be some amount of autonomy involved - but at the same time, some reasonable level of compensation in exchange for protection."

Yes, the stickler was that the re-integrating Nadir, Zenith, and the rest of the desert communities into the Imperium proper would likely be able to provide the level of protection needed to prevent further major lamian incursions - but, Imperials paid taxes, for instance.

"What is needed for a deal to be struck?" The intentions were laid out. The ball would be placed in their court.
