Everything suddenly felt off.

It was worse because only moments before she had felt so, so good. It was that horrible, sick, disgusting feeling she always got the morning after she had indulged too much in red wine.

So much goodness and happiness, followed by so much regret.

Celeb’rilith could not help but step back from Sliucha, withdrawing her offered hand as the glitter began to abate.

It made her feel a little better, which in truth made her feel terrible. She had grown fond of the young little aetherian elf. Sliucha was so twisted and broken, like a slightly dirty doll you wanted to clean up and put in pretty dresses and play with her hair.

But now…

Ugh… she just… she ruined everything!!!!

This was all very confusing.

Rilith took another step back, and another. She began to shake her head as if to clear the nastiness that seemed to well up in her. It was mixed with confusion and regret.

“I think we walk different paths now little sister,” Celeb’rilith said through gritted teeth, her eye full of regret.

"...is that what you think?" Sliucha would ask, quietly. She'd stare down at the ground, since there was no point in actually trying to look at anything at the moment. It wasn't just the blood spilling down from her eyes, though, now there were tears running into the mix as well. Hard to tell, but the young elf's eyes were swimming with them, impossible to see but there nonetheless.

She'd never really felt sad before. She remembered crying. Crying because she hurt. Crying because it felt so good. Yes, Sliucha had shed tears on numerous occasions. But this was the first time, probably, that she'd felt sad enough to cry over something. Perhaps it was a bit silly. It wasn't supposed to be a hard decision, after all. She'd known Celeb'rilith for only half a year, after all, and while they'd certainly bonded, it was such a short amount of time for the both of them in terms of their respective lifespans. Zyrgra had been with Sliucha her entire life. When tasked to choose between them, the choice was obvious. Regardless of her infatuation for her bigger sister, her zealotry for her goddess was just as passionate, if not more so. And she had worshiped Zyrgra for far longer than she had known Celeb'rilith.

But she could not stop the sadness. Even if her feelings made her feel guilty, as if forsaking her goddess, Sliucha could not stop herself from feeling them. Ultimately, she would stand by her decision. Between the two, the young elf had chosen Zyrgra. But still the sadness would come.

She had hoped her big sister would have at least tried to make it work.

"Come on," Sliucha would mutter, trying to wipe her eyes but ending up making a mess of things. "Let's get out of here, then."

When it came to misery and love, Sliucha was the more experienced of the pair - the cascade of sorrow washed over Rilith; only serving to increase the sense of loathing and emptiness that was being projected by the Zyrgran. It didn’t seem to matter how much distance now that Rilith put between Sliucha and herself – the damage was done and crossing the Circle’s threshold changed nothing. Olysera and Zyrgra were, if not polar opposites – certainly aligned with the different Pantheons. One linked to Haya, the other, reputedly, Orod.

In the distance, there was a crash as the doors to the Imaden School of Higher Learning shattered under an impact. The Goblins and Orcs of Vers had managed to finally breach the school now that they were most aware that someone alive could be found within.

The Arch-Ikomancer still appeared to be out of it, gaining little awareness as the Faerie Boy fluttered over to Deirdre and gave her a few hard slaps across the cheeks. “Wakeywakey! Time to move! Time to scoot! We don’t want to be here when they come!” the Faerie shouted, frustrated beyond belief and looking at Sliucha and Rilith a pleading look.
“Did you find what you’re after? Would you help me??” the faerie queried, panicked.

Urgh…

This was… so disconcerting. In her recent history Rilith had followed nothing but shadow and darkness since the moment she had taken her first mortal life. Jorel had been her master, she had surrounded herself with those that followed Aeternia. Had it not been for those she loved she could have easily embraced the diety that her little sister had chosen.

But it had always come down to love. Love had saved her.

She could not remember the last time she had fallen asleep and woken up with the thought of Jorel on her mind… Had she failed as an Udran’Beydir? Would Jorel take that gift from her as well… surely not. If her brand had been stripped by the power of love, then surely it could have taken the Udran away from her as well…

This would require further investigation… but not now. Fleeting thought for another day.

“Vith,” Rilith whispered. She saw the sadness and regret in the eyes of Sliucha, and her heart ached, but she was also disgusted by the girl before her. The disgust won out. Never again would they be able to share a bedroll on a cold night. Never again would Rilith seek her out for solace. Ardor and Misery could never again be… anything.

“Vith, vith vith,”

They had to get out of here.

And so Celeb’rilith, almost retching and finding it hard not to draw her blade and just kill the thing causing her such god, damned misery, she went to help the stupid and annoying fae. Hopefully she would be light enough for the Udran to carry…

She had had every intention of leaving the Ikonomancer, but they were clearly out numbered and out powered, and if that stupid woman woke up, maybe she could help them get out of here.

“Which way gets us out of here, fae,” Rilith snapped, much more snarky and angry than she had perhaps intended, but being around Sliucha was making her such.

Celeb'rilith would do her own thing. Sliucha would go off on her own as well. If nothing else, see if she couldn't buy the others some time to get out. Orcs and goblins? Would get to deal with an increasingly peeved off little elf. One big Righteous Stun right into the middle of them!

It was a strange thing to watch, the glittering red sparkles drifting through the air like dust motes; collecting into patterns that only Rilith would be able to see. Red Strings of Fate; drifting, connecting individuals with the shining lights with varying degrees of strength and cohesion. Still one was tethered from Rilith’s heart to Sliucha’s, though it was beginning to decay – fragmenting, tenuous. A connection that had been damaged, but it was far from severed.

Between the two Faeries, it was painful to look at too closely. Vibrant, glowing, and all but burning a white hot-fire between the duo. It was the kind of thing that was going to make spending time in Shei’yein Neydremi’s company a touch distracting; even if nobody else could see the connections.

“The same way we came in, doofus!” the Faerie swore, still prodding and pinching Deirdre in an effort to awaken her. Only one way in, unless someone took the window route and risked a second story (third?) fall. “Help me! Help me help her! You wanted help, yes??” the Faerie continued, finally focusing on something other than being captured by Sliucha as the Thaumaturgue moved to the door and…

Goblins! Rushing up the stairs, and now smashed by the Righteous Stun. Lots of Goblins pinned in place and hurting quite a lot from Sliucha’s spell.

This was… interesting…

Though she had to hide the glare from the overwhelmingly bright connection between the two fae, perhaps this was the blessing (or curse) of this new mark? Would she be able to see the strands that connected two mortal creatures? Was the strength of it a reflection of their love, whether platonic or romantic or familial?

For a moment, only the briefest of seconds, the threads of love and mayhap-even faith distracted her. They were just so pretty.

“Yes, yes,” Rilith said, preoccupied, the fae’s words bringing her back into the moment. “I’ll take her, fly with us, do whatever you can to help us get out of here,”

And so the Udran hauled up the dribbling Deidre, who hopefully weighed very little, holding the woman in her left hand, while the right drew her blade.

VITH. The Goblins! Though the stun seemed to have helped.

“We are going to have to fight our way out of here, little sis,” Celeb’rilith called, the fear and anger of the moment diminishing the feelings of misery and regret that Sliucha caused. Keep doing what you can and I’ll try and slice us a path out of here.

“Help us too, little man, or none of us will get out of here alive,” she said to the other fairy.

So with a fae in one hand and blade in another, Rilith speed towards the stunned creatures, as she had a thought. They were at the top of the stairs, stunned and all smooshed together. She would only have to tip their weight and have them all hurtling back down the stairs, smashing into those that followed. If she used her speed to help propel them down… maybe that would work… though hopefully she wouldn’t tumble after them…

So she sprinted, planting a swift kick in the centre of the stunned creatures, and slicing a few by the neck as she went, praying to the gods, old and new, that this plan would work.

Ah. As easy as it might have been for Sliucha to simply watch as Celeb'rilith charged into their midst and perhaps have been torn apart by them, the young elf still had some lingering affection for her older sister, despite everything that had transpired. A bit strange that the one who worshiped love had fallen out of it so easily, and the opposite in Sliucha's case.

Regardless, she would cover Celeb'rilith in a coating of Battle Armor to make sure that her dash forward wouldn't result in her being stabbed to death or anything. She'd give herself the same and move forward, her dagger out to stab anything that got in the way of their escape.

Still too new to Olsyrea’s Blessings to determine the nature of the relationship between the two Faeries, at least for figuring out the intricacies of how they were bound together. Simple observation and how they’d behaved around one another, and were behaving was the fallback for Lovestruck. The more Rilith simply observed and understood relationships of all kinds better, the better she in turn would be able to identify based upon the Red Strings of Fate.

One swift kick! Goblins toppled over en masse; Rilith’s blade neatly slicing through flesh in a few key areas that would ensure that those Greenskins would never rise again without the help of a Necromancer.

As Sliucha observed; there was a gnawing hunger inside her chest as if her heart was trying to consume itself. Damaged though the relationship was between the two Elves; it was not for a lack of wanting. Merely that Sliucha’s soul was consuming far more than Rilith’s output. One brightening, perhaps, they would stand equally before their respective Goddesses and all would work out.

Battle Armor formed about Rilith; and almost side by side, the pair moved through the Greenskins – corpses left behind in their wake as they hit the ground level without any opposition that they couldn’t best with ease. The little Faerie, fluttering around and so far showing no ability that he could be of much help for anything beyond being a distraction.

And in the streets, there were voices of those that had accompanied Rilith and Sliucha to Vers. That, and the sounds of further fighting.

She had never been so relieved in her long life, to hear the sound of humanity. Thank a god that some of them had survived the onslaught that the two elven women had fled. Rilith wondered if they thought her cowardly. In truth, she did not care.

She ran towards the sound of the men and the fighting. The more allies the better; at least that was her thought. Part of her hoped and did not hope at the same time, that Sliucha was following. Though being around her lil-sis was and aggravating torment, she still cared!

So with fae still in hand, panting and running, the blood soaked blade in her hand, Celeb’rilith Thamion started calling for retreat as soon as she saw the first soliders of Lysandria and Prime within view. There was nothing left in Vers for them, and she would have to tell Roscarnis that… but at least she could perhaps bring him something of note (though the dribbling fae in her hand didn’t seem much now).

“Retreat! Retreat! Back to the wall!” she would cry.
