Valence meets his Squadmates

Valence after leaving Commander Veleraen's tent went on a search for captain R'rowl. He had asked five people before he was told where to go. As he made his way to the tent he was joined by a group of soldiers. They seemed to be where he was going. He turned to one of them and asked "Do you know where I can find Captain R'rowl?"

OOC: I created a thread for you to meet with me umm three or four threads down. Your squad thread will be seperate from that though cause that is where I will be doing your training and it just makes life easier on both of us keeping them seperated. It's entitled 'Valence reports to Captain R'rowl'. Post there and we will get everything squared away and I'll assign you to a squad.

IC: The soldiers that Valence had met up with were not heading to the Captain's tent but instead to there own. One of them, a massive Doran looked at the new recruit and said," Aye, you'll find his tent in the middle of the Roost. It's the largest tent here. Keep going straight and you'll find the tent."

With that the doran and his squadmates headed to the chow line leaving Valance to find his way with their accurate directions.

Valence turned started walking towards the tent then turned around as he was not one to miss a free meal. He came in behind the soldiers and said "I think I will get something to eat first as I have not eaten since I left Commander Veleraen's tent this morning." He looked at the Dorin and said "My name is Valence Fowle what is yours?"

Grak was irked, irked in the extreme. His anger had drawn him back to this plane and place, but now that he was here, it was proving hard to actually do what he'd come here for. Anger and frustration had taken a grip of him and for a while he'd lost all track of where he was and what he was.

Now though the frustration had passed enough for him to start making his way again. His mind was a little clearer and while he'd not learnt yet how to do the things that he wanted to do, he had learnt that were things that he could do.

He stood behind the newcomer in the line, phased into invisibility since the suns were up and he wanted to learn. That want to learn though was easily displaced by a violent need to do harm to his enemies. His presence as close as it was, was enough to drop the temperature a little. Anger overcame him and he reached out to strangle Valence, grunting in anger as his incorporeal fingers slid through the neck of his intended victim. But it wouldn't be an attack that would be unnoticed since his touch, insubstantial as it was would be cold and uncomfortable.

The large Dorin turned and looked at the human behind him in the chow line. After taking a moment to decide wether or not to answer he finally said," Mikel Darkpaw"

Pointing around at the four others with him he said," Brian Boru, Hammer Lok, Tris Mooncoat, and Risca Drone"

Boru was a massive human with brown hair and blue eyes who looked to have some giant blood in him since he was seven feet tall. He was heavily muscled and everything about him screamed huge. But his features were friendly as he nooded towards Valence.

Lok was the shortest of the group, although still tall by many people's standards at five feet 11 inches, on a lithe, yet obviously strong frame. His feature were rugged as was typical of one who had spent a long time out on the sun, his hair blaeched blonde by the sun and his eyes were brown. His expression was neutral and blank as he nodded in Valence's direction.

Mooncoat was another Dorin, Identical to the first and one would assume that they were twins, and would be correct. The Dorin stood as tall as his brother, which was six feet one inch, and was heavily musculed. He nodded to Valence with little expression, but then it was always hard to tell what a Dorin was thinking but there was no hostility.

And the last, Drone, was an elf. He was as tall as both the Dorins, and as muscled, yet he still managed to appear graceful, almost like he was about to start a dance. With vibrant black hair and midnight blue eyes he smiled at the human, simply a slight upturning at the corners of his mouth, and nodded as well.

Darkpaw looked at Valence after he had been introduced and said," If you weren't given a particular time to report to the Captain then your welcome to break fast with us. Just make sure that you head over to the Captain and report right after. The Captain is a fair one, but he has no paitients for anything."

Almost as soon as the dorin had finished speaking the elf, Drone said," Is it just me or is it actually a bit chill in here?" His voice was a fine baritone, musical and flowing like all elves.

Valence nodded to each and everyone of them. He looked at the Dorin and said "I wasn't given a time to meet him so I guess I get to eat first." As he said this he smiled showing his teeth. He then grabbed a plate and put food on it. He started eating as he looked up and said "So what is the Captain like?"

Darkpaw thought for a moment and then said," The Captain is just the Captain. He is a katta, and a rather large one at that. He don't hold with idiots or those trying to shirk their duty, but he will work with the rawest private till they learn what is being taught with no indication of anything but calm and understanding."

Darkpaw paused for a moment and Drone picked up saying," Aye, hes a good stick if you know what I mean. He has rooms available in the Hold but he sleeps out here in his tent with the rest of us. He said when he first came here and assumed command of the Company that he wouldn't ask any of his troopes to do anything he wouldn't do and he has held to that. Every brightening he is the first one at the muster area and he leads the run carrying the biggest pack. He always makes sure we are taken care of, and in the evening he makes rounds getting to know the soldiers and their names."

Darkpaw nodded and resumed saying," He takes care of us and does right by us and we all try to follow in his pawsteps and make sure we don't let him down. You'll see when you meet with him. He comes off gruff and aggressive, thats just his nature I think, but he knows his stuff and he will also listen to anything you have to say, no matter how small and tries to make it right or do what he can for ye."

They fell sient for a moment and then Boru asked," Would 'ere be any other questions ye be a havin fer us them laddie?" The dwarven brouge that he spoke with was surprising to say the least.

Valence looked at them both and said through a mouth full "O ore questios." He finished eating and said "No more questions." He looked down at the food and noticed how nasty it looked.

Boru smiled at the look on the privates face and said," Aye laddie, the food round 'ere is a mite better tehn if'in ye were in some other part o the Army. Ye, have the Cap'in to be thankin fer that."

The rest of the squad looked on in amusement, apparently used to this look from new members of the Battlecrows.
