Mithmand Clangsong is an upstanding Citizen
Kaugzi and Effect

Timestamp: 1st of Kalendryas, Era XV PF

A dwarf tramped noisily across the fallen leaves on the ground on the way to Autumnus, leaving the suicide gauntlet known as the Maevewood well behind him. It was a bright day in the outskirts of the Sherian, and in an uncharacteristic twist of predictability, Mithmand was feeling as fair as the day.

An uplifting humor had taken him since leaving the dark woods. While Daltina had left a sour taste in his mouth and pushed him into a depression, he was getting farther away from his cold, uncaring emotional center as he approached what he believed were the outskirts of Autumnus. It’d been too long since he passed this way. He was closing on a few Eras, in fact. He wondered what the defenses of Autumnus were like nowadays.

Just as the thought occurred to him, and he began to crest the hill, some wolfish creature out of a beautiful nightmare rushed over the edge of the hill, and knocked him over. Mith cackled as he rolled around, and then found his feet, to find himself face to face with it’s drooling, tooth filled maw. Most sane people would’ve soiled themselves at this point, and gone running, but Mithrand choked back a burst of laughter, thinking this was the funniest thing in the world. “Heh, nice pooch.” He remarked to the greenskin rider.

It was then that he’d remembered what he’d heard about the war in Sherian with the orcs. Well well, so they took Autumnus, eh? Bless their black hearts.

“We eat dwarf, tonight, Grrrnaa. Shara, gib me jour sharps or we spit ju alive.”

“Me sharps?” Mithmand’s face contorted in momentary confusion, “Ahh, me swords. Consider them yours. So I take it yer recruiting for the horde?”

It was the greenskin’s face that twisted now, “Ju want join da horde?” He sounded disappointed, but only a little. It was his prerogative what he’d do with the dwarf, but this obviously brought about conflicting feelings within the creature.

“Aye!” He said, suddenly deciding it’d be funny to do an impression of the ideal dwarf. “A quest to join the Horde! Where’s my ale?!” Andso he turned on his heels and began marching in a dwarfish sort of way toward Autumnus.

The rider growled in tune with his worg, and bounded around the dwarf, allowing the beast to nip at his shoulder, eliciting a painful sensation that would result in a bruise later. “Wait, shara, ju serious?” The orc was still frowning as he said it, looking very disappointed and almost as if he’d eat Mithmand anyway.

“Aye, I am! Hi ho, here I go to join the Horde!”

A few moments of walking, and finally the orc trailed a few meters to his left. By now Mithmand could make out the tops of the buildings in Autumnus, with some of them looking to have been razed recently. Beautiful site, that, but a little disappointing that he hadn’t been there to partake. Well he’d remedy that before all of Sherian was ablaze, he would!

“Ju join da horde, go Orckon. If ju live dat long…” The orc shrugged, and then barked out something in pure orcish. A few goblins came approaching from beyond the hill, running to the superior orc. “Snaga, ju take dis dwarf to Orckon. He to be Kaugzi in da Horde.” With the word Kaugzi uttered, the orc let a smile creep across his beautifully gruesome face.

The ‘snaga’ bobbed their heads, giggling slightly once the orc had ridden off to scout out more of the outlying wilderness. “We take ju to Orckon, follow.”

And so Mithmand followed them, finally reaching a high point in his mood, and practically skipping behind them, his heart flying with the prospect of becoming… Kaugzi, whatever that meant. Just hopefully he'd be doing some killing and stuff. Danger wasn't important. Killing was the main thing.
