Blayde is unknown and forgotten
Double Axe The Army Camp (Eyvind; Open)

Aperitus; Summer of Era II of the Celestine Mandate

The walk had not been terribly long, after all, Blayde wasn't a city-dweller, and he had used his feet well to take him to the places he needed. That was, of course, if he couldn't find a traveling wagon or Vardo to hop on. Besides the directions given to him by the clerk, Blayde had no trouble finding the fields, with all the dispatches of scouts going back and forth from the camp and into the city of Taralon.

The new military camp was built according to the response of the local Sherian government wanting its own armed forces in the face of increasingly hostile entities. This suited Blayde well, though he had no intent on joining this new army for the interests of any government. In all practicality, joining this new army would give him a meal, steady income, more military training, and perhaps some status within the world.

Walking across the hills and fields near the camp, the only thing to be seen was the ocean of tents, coupled with myriads of obstacle courses, canteen tents, warehouses, and training grounds. The sounds of men training with swords, the hooves of horses, and the smell of the open air invited a strong martial presence to the area.

He approached the training area near a small registrar tent, filled with scouts and administrative personnel, obviously assigning men to individual stations throughout the camp. A man sat at a table, giving the assignments out to those who approached the area. "Excuse me; I need to talk to the head officer in this camp." The man's head looked up, obviously thinking that Blayde was joking. Under authority of, uh, the recruitment center in Taralon."

Blayde knew it was a lie of some sorts. Of course, he had been given directions to the camp, though no one gave him the authority to approach any officer. But they didn't know that, had been Blayde's reasoning. If the man bought it, Blayde would hopefully have a chance at speaking with the head officer. If he didn't buy it, Blayde would have to use some quick thinking.

Shield Daekin Coates was sitting reading through some reports in a table just outside the command center's tent when by the corner of his eye he spotted a civilian wandered in the camp. Why had Eyvind requested so many mounted scouts to set a perimeter around the camp if they couldn't prevent a civilian from entering the camp? This waythe Orcs would be eating at their table before they noticed. Staring at the ashen haired man the blood Vagaran waited. After the gypsy had spoken the blue eyed man could only keep staring. What was this? Since when did the Recruiting Center send civilians without escort to the camp?

The Shield Daekin was already standing up to get a hold on Blayde when a man tower seven feet approach with his head literally diving in papers.

"Coates, I need you to take a look at this. By the way, it was a good idea this thing of bringing the table outside. I can't stand the heat inside the tent."

The red haired man paused after placing some papers over the table. It seemed Coates was not alone. Who was this? A civilian? The Shield Daekin seemed a bit tense, was this person a threat? Placing a hand over the blonde man's shoulder Eyvind took care of things.

"Serale stranger. I am Daekin Eyvind Redbeard Avornmagor Björnsson and I am in charge of this Training Fields. How can I help you?"

Blayde breathed a quick sigh of relief. That was not as smooth as it should've been He thought. With a quick smile, and short head bow for respect, Blayde thanked Daekin Eyvind for being able to see him without notice.

Thank you, Sir. The Recruitment Center was a bit.. busy at the moment. They told me that you were the Officer to see.

With a quick glance at the other officers and scounts standing around staring, Blayde asked if they could speak in private on a couple of issues relating to the army. He tried to sound as vague as possible, hoping to capture the Officer's interest in hopes of such a private conversation.

"Do you mind, Sir?"

Teig O'Maolain is unknown and forgotten
Spear Daekin Teig O'Maolain sat watching the commotion on a tree stump very very close by, and as the mood relaxed, he chose that particular moment to walk up to the group of men.

He stood silently, both of his hands resting on his hips, standing at 6'1" and looking relaxed. He knew however that his hands were close enough to draw either the longsword or the rapier he wore on either hip, and he was close enough to deal a deathblow should any fool attempt to kill his commander.

Got this one, Boss? He spoke with a familiarity that betrayed his military discipline. There was a vague intensity in his eyes that seemed to lament his good humor and the brevity to which he had approached life, gone now in the wake of the recent news of war. replaced by a hardened shell, he still was warm with those that he trusted. newcomers would now only see a cold, calculating warrior.
Fresh meat for the Grinder then?

The Vagaran looked down to the young man that had come to enter in his camp without being noticed. It seemed some scouts would have their ears red in no time, no need to say a word, Shield Daekin Coates would deal with them in his own cold fashion.

"My man will accompany us, I trust him my life and with whatever you have to say. This is Spear Daekin Teig O'Maolain."

Eyvind said as he walked into a place away from the command tent and motioned Teig to follow them.

Mineal Shade is unknown and forgotten
The walk had been terribly long. Acumin to the field operations in Sheria was a long way for small footprints. Not that the mosat minded a bit, he more at ease on the road and in the wilderness alone than in a town. Still the army camp had been the largest place the rodenti had seen since his departure from beyond the border of the empire and his renaturalization into the empire. Frigid River had been most accommodating of having a new member of their small family of villagers.

From there he had traveled to Acumin and stopped at the Ranger Hall before continuing his personal quest to Narim. Mineal had heard about the raids and the fall of Narim. It was there he wished to travel. The rodenti still was unsure about why exactly he was drawn to Narim. Perhaps it was just another opportunity in a line of failures he had used to raise his status. Or maybe he wanted to make his mark on the Ranger community. Mineal did not know, he already stood out as a, if not the only, rodenti Ranger in the empire. It afforded him the luxury of a life he enjoyed far above city dwelling. The open wilderness made his small, furry breast swell with satisfaction.

Mineal had to ask many people before he found one of the main, temporary offices of the Sherian Army. The mosat, covered with a conical hat, dark goggles, and a long poncho, approached the recruiter desk. He pulled the pin from his green sash and held it up for Daekin Coates with his tan paw. The silver badge of a snow owl gleamed dully under the suns.

"Mineal Shade, Frigid River Ranger. I am interested in recovering items from Narim's Ranger Hall."

One of the Recruiters looked at the Ranger with surprise that he tried to restrain. This was not what he expected a Ranger to look like. Further, he did not expect anyone to be going to the Narim Ranger Hall. There was no news from the Ranger Hall since the Orcs took Narim.

However, this Ranger was intent on going there, so the Recruiter gave him directions.

"Good luck to you Ranger".
