[Arthro Galanos] Orestes's Forces

Arthro Galanos was the territory claimed by the Son of Agamemnon.

The most affluent of the three district where the majority of the nobility and the wealthy reside. It seems however, that despite being pirates, Orestes did not seem to have any plans or interest to rob and plunder the potential loot and richest before him. All the houses and shops have been left unmolested.

All around though, his men could be seen, patrolling their claimed territory on either the large Toros like one would do a horse, except that it was on water, or having one or a group of the critters pull their gondolas or even ship, like a horse pulls a cart or carriage. It was a peculiar sight really, bothering on almost comedic but one that played well into Orestes's strategy. He did not have that many men, though the Arthro was the smallest of the three district. But what he lacked in numbers he gained in maneuverability. The Toros were swift in water, so much more than a man could with oars, and the Arthro was submerged in water, even more so then the Neos.

Barricades have been set up at the fringes of the district. And if one were to count they would wind up with a number of six ships total that belonged to Orestes. Four cutter class, one frigate class, while out in the open sea, the lone battleship flying the colors and mark of Orestes's pirate flag stood vulnerable.

It was no secret that Orestes lacked the numbers and war chest his grandfather had. But what indeed could make him so bold as to leave the mothership unguarded? And to which without a doubt is where Orestes himself was?

The ship was new face, never seen before. A large, battered looking man-of-war of what appeared to be Sherian in design. She carried no figurehead, though the Eunesian writing "εκδίκηση" was painted big and bold over where her old name once was.

εκδίκηση meaning "Vengeance", truly a perfect fit for the scion who was Aeternia-bent on executing his vendettas.

End of Tempris, Autumn of Era XVIII PF

Geirr had arrived on the Mer-Sea to the makeshift piers assembled at the Arthro Galanos. His skin was pale and nearly shining in the golden Eunesian light. He stood alone on the pier he had stepped onto, passed a hand over his face and beard, pushed his long blonde hair back over his head. His threadbare clothing distinguished him here. It was tunic, trousers, legwraps, and turnshoes. The fabric was long worn by his native elements. All of him was paleness and even his garb had taken on a salty fade. He moved his eyes over the lay of this new glowing landscape and passed the knuckles of one hand over the sides of his beard.

All around him was yellow and golden and suffused with warmth. The water was a vibrant blue he had never seen. The cool breeze which brought autumnal chill to Eunesia felt warm to him. He studied the district. Buildings rose out of the water like islands. Manicured water gardens floated around the wealthy estates. Men steered their giant tortoise mounts easily through the canals, some towing vessels.

Goldland, he uttered. This would have been his name for Eunesia.

Geirr stayed this way for a time, studied the impossible beauty of this lustrous new landscape. Then he walked down the pier toward the Galanos. Men were all about. Their faces seemed hard and unyielding and they moved with purpose. Their stirring suggested suspense and foreboding, like the shadow of a beast rising underwater.

The Vagaran walked until he found a man who appeared to be one of the pirates. Serale, he spoke, the obvious foreigner. Are you one of Orestes' men?

It wasn't so much that Grot had told Rochelle where to find him, as much as he'd simply told her to go to the Nexus and ask where he'd gone. In this case he was waiting for Rochelle near Orestes's barricades on one of the main routes through Arthro Galanos. No point in making it difficult for the manling female to find him after all. That being said the alabaster skinned titan was spending his time waiting glaring at Orestes's men behind the barricade. The whole lot of them were terrified, but he didn't doubt the idiots wouldn't still try to stop him when he made to walk right past them after the girl’s arrival. Still, that couldn't help but be a laugh when the time came, like these runts had a brass pair between them all big enough to challenge Grot. As it was Grot was dressed rather more primitively than usual in a pair of giant sized loose leather britches held up by a cable thick strand of rope and assisted by the massive anchor and chain he normally had round his waist and an equally plain looking shirt made out of rough cloth. Stumpy for his part was strapped to the giants back as was the massive elven longbow whose quiver hung at his hip.

Grot wasn't dumb, he wasn't about to let his good clothes get ruined when he was forced to walk through the canals to get where he needed to be tonight. Making a big impression wasn't going to be an issue, frankly he didn't give a ratta's arse about Orestes's opinion of how he dressed, water proof leathers and wearing the weapons of war were all the giant needed to do to put the fear of Rak into the pirate. No, Rochelle was the one expected to dress to impress. Grot had pretty much figured that out when he met her, she'd be distracting eye candy to loosen tongues and drop guards. Grot would be the one Orestes's men would keep the closest eye on and Rochelle would sneak, steal, and seduce her way into getting Grot any information he needed that would allow The Nameless to gain an upper hand on Orestes. Ogden, Len and Yrin would do the same on Tyndareus's forces....though Grot suspected that group was more likely to bash the info out of some poor sap when no one was looking. For now though all Grot could do was sit back and wait as he leaned against a modest looking shop on the last bit of dry land bordering the canals and smoke a massive cigar.

Geirr Gunnarsson

The Vagaran chose right.

In a district as posh as the Arthros Galanos, the residents were typically swaddled in luscious togas and other native attire made from the finest bolts of cloth. There were some of the more lesser groups of people around the area, as evident from their lack of displayed luxury, namely those from the few middle class staying around, less wealthy merchants and tradesmen, tourists, and the ferrymen who taxis passengers around the makeshift canals of flooded walkways on board small water vessels. And now there were of course the pirates - rough looking dangerous men who appeared always armed though they wear no uniform unlike the local militia or private guardsmen. All manner of weapons, mostly native were carried with some carrying large shields, and strutting around in leather or hide armor, or downright topless, displaying their tanned strong physique; of a body chiseled from an active life at sea, and olive burnt skin that was a defining trait of the islanders. From Orestes's faction, most of his men were natives or fellow Eunesians, or at the very least, mainlanders that had mixed parentage with the islanders. It did not appear as if they were any pure mainlanders among them though Geirr only had passing glimpses of Orestes's crew, and not the full overview.

The man Geirr approached was a young and grim looking hood who stood sentinel with two more of his comrades, all equally young and looking ready for combat at a moment's noticed. They held large round shields, blow pipes with spear tips together with a pocketful of ammo, and a truncheon hanging by their sash. If it wasn't for the fact they were bare-chested and heavily tattooed with Eunesian artwork, they could have almost passed off as the city guard judging from how they kept watch over the district.

"Hmmm? Who is asking? And what do you want from the vasiliás (king)?" the man growled when Geirr addressed him, sharp gray eyes roving over the Vagaran. He had a decent command of the Common tongue although his accent was thick, but there was no denying they were the overthrown 'Pirate King's' men indeed.

Geirr looked the men up and down. He wasn't sizing them up. He didn't know how to size them up. He couldn't tell whether he needed to squint or not in this effusive light, raised a hand to shield his eyes and lowered it again. Round shields were familiar to him, but still these were different. Another take on the same shape, and as for material, as for decoration, as for what those long tubes were with the lethal ends looking like spears in miniature, a spear for a gnome fashioned from a bird bone, yet carried by hard men though young they be, as for these things he had no idea what to make of them. As unfamiliar to him as the geography here, and the glow that encompassed it all. At least whacking clubs he recognized. Hitting men over their heads was the same everywhere.

Vasiliás. He breathed the word delicately from his indelicate beard, felt how it teased his lips. The crew he had taken up with to make it out here had provided him a primer of sorts for discerning through the Eunesian accent.

I am Fallgeirr, replied the Vagaran. His own accent was apparent, guttural and a tad nasal. The thought suddenly struck him that in Secyclion he was a complete unknown and it made him glad. Gunnarsson, he said, for what did it matter here? Fallgeirr Gunnarsson. I arrived here from Jaedaxia, but I am from Skallabrekka on the Libertas. Orestes does not know me but I offer him my aid. Omens showed me the direction and I followed.

I recognize the birthright of the son.

oocGrot, what's the timestamp?

While Grot had told her to just ask for him, Rochelle wasn't sure that would be the best course of action. From what she'd heard of him, Grot wasn't beloved by all, least of which the pirates. Aligning herself to him so soon might end with her searching down empty alley after empty alley. Instead she did things her own way.

The girl stared down at the water and it smoothly ran below her. Her heels were high and enclosed her feet in black, all but her finger tips which were polished red. She had been told to look her best so she did. A red silken gown wrapped tightly around her body, cupping her breasts while exposing enough cleavage to cause a head or two to turn. From her knees down the gown opened and hung down to the floor in a mermaid-like fashion. Rochelle was aware that the island people were supposed to fear the combination of black and red but so far she'd found little difficulty on keeping men's eyes off her feet.

The girl smiled as she looked forward at the immense turtle pulling the gondola she sat in. Her gondolier: a pirate. One who either wasn't very bright or didn't come in contact with women very often, his drool proved that much. Rochelle sat there, a cream toned parasol resting on her shoulder and providing shade from the sun. Her hair was no longer packed under the short black wig. This time it was packed under a long blonde one, its voluminous waves falling over her shoulders, its bangs ending just below her eyebrows and carelessly tossed aside. Around her neck she'd tied a piece of ribbon, its bow pushed to the back, below her hair.

Once Rochelle saw Grot, there was no mistaking him for someone else, She reached her hand out, softly touching the pirate's knee.

"This will be good, thank you. My sister is just around the corner."

She raised her hand once more and left it hanging in the air for a second or two before the man came to his sense and helped her up. Placing her petite foot onto the street and making sure the end of her gown came off the gondola cleanly, Rochelle turned slowly and smiled at him one last time. Her lips were a fleshy rink hue and her eyes rimmed with black and tan giving the appearance that they were narrower, more sultry. "Thank you, Kostas."

With a lazy gaze and an opened mouth the pirate eventually turned away from Rochelle and went back to maneuvering his gondola along the canals. Rochelle walked, with her parasol still in hand, towards Grot. Her ands were enveloped in white silk gloves that rose to her elbows and Rochelle was extremely thankful that it was not the summer time or sweat might've ran around her face and down her arms. Thankfully, that was not the case and the completely dry girl stood next to the giant, looking towards the distance.

"So what exactly will we be doing today?" her eyes nonchalantly skimmed over the weapons he carried. She had a couple as well, though they were not nearly as large or noticeable.

Grot is a benevolent Adventurer

24th of Tempris, Autumn of Era XVIII UGGGG so not happy with this post lol

In truth the giant hadn't really set a specific time to meet so there was no reason for him to pay much attention to how long it took Rochelle to show up and besides, Grot had a healthy number of quality hand wrapped Secyclionian cigars to enjoy while he did. As it was, the giant went through two and a half cigars while he waited, enjoying every puff. That he'd managed to 'convince' a local cigar maker to provide him with giant sized stogies was at the moment one of his most enjoyable accomplishments since coming to the islands. Sure he'd killed the great carnivorous pink bunny of Eunesia, sure he's killed that beast gnoggis the destroyer in his lair.... but the perfect aromatic stogie designed for a giant that burned just right and was packed with an amazing flavour, THAT was an event worth celebrating. It certainly hadn't been a simple matter, not like just anyone could roll a cigar for a giant and it'd come out fine.

All that though was pretty damn unimportant at the moment as his 'assistant' for the evening had finally arrived via the canal, tugging on his pant leg to announce herself as it were. Arms crossed over his chest as he looked down at Rochelle with the half smoked remains of his current cigar clamped firmly between his teeth the giant spent a few moments looking over the girl. Grot had told her to come dressed to kill as it were and while the giant wasn't much of a judge of what the lesser races considered 'attractive' he figured Rochelle would do just fine. It had taken a moment for it to register that this was the same girl with her new blonde hairstyle but at least now he knew she was able to back up her claim of being good with disguises.... not that the giant paid enough attention to manling appearances to tell them apart all that often anyway. The girl was showing effort though, and that's all that Grot needed.... the parasol was a nice touch to he had to admit.

Grunting in begrudging acceptance after a long moment or two of eyeing the slip of a girl the giant kneeled down and laid one of his massive hands down before her palm up. "Get on, we're going ta see Orestes and offer him a hand" the giant commanded in an all business tone as he waited for Rochelle to step onto the offered hand before he sat her carefully on one of his massive shoulders expecting its size and his shirt collar to be sufficient enough to provide for her safe seating. "Plan's simple, do what he says and help him against Tyndareus so he comes out on top....at least until we find a way ta make sure WE come out on top" the giant said as silently as he could once Rochelle was on his shoulder as he didn't feel like having the local wildlife overhear his whole bloody plan. "Since I'm not much use for sneaking and I'm not a charmer that's what I need you for. Charm Orestes and his boy’s outta all their secrets. Ya don't have ta sleep with em but I expect results I can use ta take over this town myself ya savvy?" the giant continued quietly as he started making his way towards the Orestes guards.

"Oy Runts, where's yer boss I want ta meet with the wannabe pirate king of Eunesia"
the alabaster titan growled as he tapped the ash off his cigar on the men below with his best Don't-feth-with-me look.

Every time Rochelle saw the giant she could hardly believe his size. Where did he sleep? She could not imagine a bed to fit the giant just sitting out there in the wilds. But obviously Grot was not the only giant, so perhaps they already had their way of sleeping. And if he did have a bed, the Jaedaxian girl could not imagine the woman that would be willing to share it. It would have to be a giantess, she assumed. But Grot had been the first giant she’d ever seen so they weren’t the most widespread of races and it wasn’t like Rochelle could just not notice one passing by.

A faint wave of pity hit her as she climbed onto the man’s hand, bracing herself with one gloved hand gripping his thumb for balance. She patted the thumb gently with a small sigh. Rochelle sat on Grot’s shoulder letting her gown hang down. Her legs were crossed revealing the slightest bit of skin from ankle to calf. She still held her parasol but her other hand remained anchored to the giant’s shoulder lest she topple over. Luckily, walking in 4-inch heels while wearing the most constricting of garments since the age of 11 did grant some grasp of balance.

The girl nodded as she listened. “I’ll get your secrets. Most men actually talk in their sleep and never know it. I know a few tricks to get what we need.”

As they began to move Rochelle reached out and grabbed onto the giant’s collar, it was going to be a bumpy ride she could tell. Grot spoke to the pirates. Rochelle didn’t say a word; she only adjusted her legs, re-crossing them to reveal more skin.

Geirr Gunnarsson

The men stared as well as looked at each other as the Vagaran introduced himself, their eyes hardening as they watched the fair-skinned outsider carefully, while they murmured among themselves completely in the Eunesian tongue. Most of them had their conversation centered on the youth who had addressed Geirr, a tall, well built fellow, with brown curly hair and dark eyes framing a handsome face typical of the Secyclids. What was the most outstanding feature he had however was the object around his neck, dangling from a necklace made of twine. It look like the curvy beak of a bird, like a horn of some sort perhaps. Maybe he was one of the designated alarm crier, as it was an accessory only he had.

Though Geirr might not truly understand what they were speaking (unless he had been learnt in the Eunesian), it seems obvious they were talking about him. Perhaps more accurately, the other two were wanting to know what Geirr had said, and needed their companion, also the only one who seem to know Common, to translate to them.

It ended with one of the others boy scowling, while another grinned in amusement. The one who talked to Geirr however remained impassive as he addressed the Vagaran once more, "And what makes you think The Mighty Orestes needs a Mainlander's aid?" he asked, "This problems are Secyclion's problems. And Secyclion men will deal with it. Why do you think we need you? What do you have that will be of any use of us? Lest you be nothing but deadweight and a burden to us?" his tone was proud and haughty, such was the way with Secyclids, proud, ego, macho even given their extremely patriarchal society with the need to constantly assert one's masculinity being part of the culture. One would notice, that even in the Herald the local government itself had refused any calls for help, instead merely giving a warning to those 'outsiders' to stay away.

Rochelle Laroche & Grot

In the Arthos Galanos, the dry walkways, or any area of pavement or even dirt large enough to fulfill the means as a walkway, was long gone replaced now by... waterways.

Grot would find himself wading in waters that were inconsistent at best. At certain areas they were shallow, reaching only up to his ankle, while at some parts they plunge deep going all the way to his waist. What was consistent however, was the more they headed towards to sea (as that was where Orestes's mothership was anchored, thus highly probable that Orestes was there), the deeper the water level went, to the point it was reaching up to Grot's chest, and if he was wanting to continue any further, he would find that the possibility of being submerged in salty water was just imminent. If there was the few things that were even 'taller' than giants it was definitely the distance between sea depths and surface.

Now things might all be fine and dandy for Grot, but what of the lady perching on her shoulders? Surely she wouldn't appreciate being dunked in the ocean after all the preparations she's made. Plus, so much for making a big impression if they both were going to meet Orestes soaking wet. Looks like a boat was in order, a ship that is.... a large one that could fit Grot. Sadly such huge ships, including Orestes's very own Man-o-War (which could be seen in the distance), were all too big to dock by the unfinished harbor, where there was no wharf yet to connect the land further out where the water were much deeper for the larger ships. There were only the small boats meant for traversing the canals or the nearby islands. Perfect for Rochelle. Meaningless for Grot.

Maybe they could get the scion of the former Pirate King to come onshore instead? Although that looks to be very unlikely. Or Rochelle could simply remain, beautiful... while Grot can go take a dive.

The sight of a giant and a lady on his shoulder however was more than enough to garner curious stares as they headed over to makeshift harbor. While more and more giant turtles, with their riders ontop stared gathering, following the giant both out of curious amusement and well, to perform their duty of keeping guard. Grot's face after all was a well known one thanks to the bounty. One that Orestes or his men appeared to have no interest in lest they would have attempt to take the giant down already. That, or they were being very careful.

The giant's rather rude demands however was met with awkward silence.

The number of Mainlanders have taken a severe dip now the Summer was over, especially after the paradise merrymaking was abruptly interrupted by the events of the Eclipse. And now with the rise of the pirates, many brains now sober had taken the smart approach of leaving the island. Thus all around the only people Grot and Rochelle could see were the native Secyclids and local Eunesians, and it should be a well known fact that those proud and xenophobic islanders can't be bothered with mainland customs and language.

"We no speak Common!" one of them jabbered, an old man in fact, with a wide brim straw hat, topless with sagging muscles. He did not look like a pirate, just a retired sailor who now made a living ferrying passengers around. The others, mostly the pirates just stared at them like they were some freak in a circus show.

Maybe Grot would want to try again (or perhaps Rochelle would like to lend some assistance), and be a little more simple and a little less flamboyant with his choice of words.

They were not about to walk to the ship, Rochelle hadn't known the vessel would be so far and she guessed Grot hadn't known the water would have been so deep. She was wearing genuine Jaedaxienne silk, having it be dunked in sea water was certainly not part of the plan today.

The locals didn't speak Common. Trying her best to conceal her disdain of their ignorance Rochelle bit down on her lower lip. She could understand that they were still in Secyclion and that one could even argue that foreigners who did not speak their tongue were the ignorant ones, but Common was not an obscure local dialect of some rinky dink town atop a mountain, it was the universal language of Aelyria. Nevertheless, Rochelle tapped Grot on the neck and asked him to lower her.

He merely stretched his arm out to form a makeshift ramp. Ladies did not walk down ramps, especially not in heels. The giant didn't seem to care. Forcing her frown into a smile Rochelle began to work her way down the mountainous appendage. To give herself a bit of balance as well as satisfaction, Wherever Rochelle saw a nook or cranny between the muscles of Grot's arm, she'd dig the sharp heel of her shoe into it. Her claw-like almond shaped nails were also frequently used to scale down the arm, not really caring if she had to grab onto and yank tufts of hair and leverage herself.

Once she had reached Grot's hand, Rochelle waved to the old man to help her onto his boat.

"Kalimera," she spoke in broken Secyclid, bits and pieces she had picked up here and there. "Borei na sas,"Can you she pointed at him, "take me," pointing at herself, "pano apo to neroover the water to the nautikos, ship" Rochelle raised her hand and pointed out to the ship in question.

"My friend," Rochelle pointed to Grot, "is a bit... trelosmad. He would be ohxi trelos an me voithisei"not mad if you help me

If the man agreed Rochelle would turn to the pirates and say in a louder but still calm voice, "Prepei milisoI must speak Orestes. Peripouabout his paidichild" she said, bring her free hand to her stomach.

Again she pointed to the giant, "prostatis mou.My guard Please for your protection and mine, do not interfere."

If the scene went smoothly, Rochelle would turn to Grot and simply say, "You swim."

Geirr recognized that mistrustful glean of the eyes. It was common among his own people and he had worn it many times. In fact there seemed to be many similarities between these people and his: love for the sea, pride, mistrust of outsiders, even their northern location. Yet here was warmth rather than frigidity, bronze skin rather than pale, and a strange babble.

Geirr kept silent as the boys spoke to each other. He could make no sense out of their alien words. His eyes came upon the object on the central youth's chest, a thing which looked to the Vagaran like a drinking horn. But here the context changed everything, and even the things Geirr found familiar upset his expectations. It was like he had fallen in the water and come to shore in a land of opposites.

"Aeternia," he muttered, then spoke up. "I do not claim that I can solve your problem. I come merely to lend my arm and to make a name for myself. I can fight with a sword and shield and I know how to maneuver on water. Mine are a seafaring people.

"And I hear," he said, moving his eyes over the surroundings, "that your numbers are not great." Then he looked the boy in the eyes. "Besides, this piss-drinking Tyndareus is a usurper. Revenge is a worthy cause, and a son must have his justice. I believe in that."

Grot is a benevolent Adventurer

As expected the waters of Arthro Galanos ran deep, or at least they ran as deep as the giant had suspected before he'd come out here. Not wearing his only good suit was proving to be a very smart move, as was not wearing his now famous battle trophy from his epic conflict with the carnivorous pink bunny of Eunesia. The dirty waters of the canal were at times only knee height to the alabaster titan but steadily rose upwards as he followed the canals in the direction of Oreste's battleship. By the time it had reached his chest he knew the plan as it currently stood was going to have some serious issues. Grot hadn't paid much mind to the rag tag collection of rafts and giant turtles following along behind him, he figured they were Oreste's guards keeping an eye on Secyclion's most recognizable figure. However, he hadn't expected them to look at him like he'd just grown three heads when he'd 'politely' asked where their boss was. What the feth did these idiots mean 'We no speak common'? Fething islanders...if he'd learned how to speak the manlings language why didn't they, the good for nothing boot licking meatbags.

Luckily, before Grot had taken it upon himself to educate the old straw hat wearing idiot with the business end of Stumpy Rochelle butted in for exactly the reason he'd recruited her.... to deal with the scum he'd rather kill. Instead he just scowled at the old man and the pirates around them with a look resembling an angry bear spotting its next meal before turning to look and listen as Rochelle spoke. Grot had to admit as he listened, she was a clever little manling. He really didn't have much of a clue what she was saying in the islanders language, despite being here for what seemed like forever Grot had never bothered to learn another filthy manling tongue, but she seemed to have a grasp on some of it at least. When she motioned that she wanted down to the boat, Grot merely held his arm out and grabbed the side of the boat making a ramp for his well dressed charge to walk down. Not that she seemed to appreciate how 'nice' he was being the way she dug her heels into his arm. A giant's skin is thick though so while uncomfortable it wasn't exactly painful....but he'd remember that attitude in the future. Of course all this presumed the old man was co-operative and didn't require Grot to twist each of his limbs off slowly in front of the crowd until someone did what he asked.

So long as Rochelle had just acquired herself a ride to the battleship, it would be time for Grot to continue his underwater walk. "Meet you there" he grunted as he stomped off towards the boat, intending to swim to the surface and climb over the side of it once he was below it on the harbour floor.

Geirr Gunnarsson

"Sword and shield?" the boy raised an eyebrow as he looked Geirr up and down. "Hah!" he guffawed and turned to the others to help with the translation. They all then broke into loud pearly laughter, all the while casting the Vagaran patronizing looks.

"You don't even have any on you!" he chuckled at Geirr before turning around again to yell something in Eunesian to his comrades.

One of the boys stepped up to the Vagaran, thrusting his sword and shield forward for the man to take. Assuming Geirr complied he would the weapon to be a gladius, a medium sized sword, much like a short sword in length, and of average quality. The shield on the other hand was an Eunesian shield the Aspis, a large and heavy cumbersome round shield that required some strength to wield. Sacrificing convenience and mobility however, it does offer very good protection, being wide and tall enough to cover nearly half of the Northman's bulk. It was made of wood, with very simple engravings for decoration, reinforced with bronze especially at its sides, no doubt to be used offensively if one knew the skills.

And assuming too that Geirr accepted the sword and shield, he would have no choice now but to fight the boy for such a gesture was an indicator that the Vagaran had indeed accepted the challenge.

"Well then, show us!" the boy gave a confident laugh as he too received a similarly paired set of weapon and armor from a comrade, hefting the heavy shield around his left arm easily as if the thing was made of paper, while in his right he held the gladius and readied himself into a stance as he waited for Geirr's reaction.

By then the rest of the men had backed off to give the two fighters some space for their duel.

Rochelle Laroche & Grot

"Pi̱gainete na pli̱roun Kyrios Orestes?"Go to meet Master Orestes the old man answered the Rochelle and he threw fleeting glances at the few hoods who steadily swarmed them on board their small boats and sea mounts.

They listened hard at her, trying their best to get pass the language barrier and understand what she was trying to say, all the while casting amused smiles her way. Without a doubt, she must have seemed clumsy as she stumbled with their tongue but the fact she even tried flattered them much, that and the fact she was a lovely creature with beautiful long legs. Certainly flattery and beauty can bring one a long way indeed, to the point, the men around her were even taking the extra effort to try acknowledge what she wanted, difficult as it was.

"Kala, boreite na,"Okay you can one of the younger men, who looked like he was from Orestes's crew nodded his head without any dispute from the rest, and gestured her over towards his boat which was towed by a pair of those curious gigantic turtles much like a carriage. One of his mates even made the effort to help her off Grot so she could get into their boat with ease, so there was no need for the large giant to do anything hasty that might severe the fragile peace Rochelle has tried so hard to instill.

The boat trip proved to uneventful if not a rather unique experience if the Jaedaxian mademoiselle had never rode a turtle driven sea-carriage before. Unlike a row boat, whose speed was limited by averagely a human's capacity, these proved to be so much faster. The little wooden vessel bounced off the waves as it sped at towards the mother ship, and if Rochelle wasn't one to enjoy choppy rides akin to that of a 'roller coaster' she might find it a little terrifying even. Nevertheless she got to the ship in one piece, however she was not allowed to board and instead was asked to stay on the boat while they went ahead to presumably inform their 'boss' of her arrival and that of her 'bodyguard'.

Grot on the other hand had got to get his hair wet. Swimming was relatively easy (especially for one who had special gifts up their sleeves). But unlike his 'womanling' partner, Grot's underwater trip was a little more... peculiar. As the giant headed towards the ship, docked out in open waters where the ocean floor went 'downhill' deeper and deeper, Grot could sense a presence lurking about, as if there was something or someone watching him from far beneath the ocean depths but of what or who, he wouldn't be able to tell. Though the water was a clear blue, there was only so far giant eyes (or any non-marine beings that is) could penetrate in saline waters. It was to be a rather disturbing feeling especially for a giant the likes of Grot who had without a doubt had always felt invincible among the living on land. Regardless still, nothing happened and he was able to reach the ship easily enough, although just like Rochelle he was disallowed to climb on board and was instead asked to stay floating in the sea.

Orestes's men never told them how long they had to wait, if they were even indeed informing Orestes of their arrival. One could only assume that was being done, though the wait proved to be very long somehow. After a quarter of a candlemark, assuming both had waited patiently, there still seemed to be no news coming from the ship...

Rochelle Laroche is an upstanding Citizen
Rochelle turned to the pirate and let herself be helped onto the boat, holding out her free hand and letting the men try to gently move her. She'd be lying if she said the attention wasn't nice but that certainly was not news to Rochelle, she loved attention. She thanked the pirates and looked back at Grot to make sure he was following the boat.

Whenever the boat would make any sudden movements Rochelle would fall onto on of the pirates that stood on board the vessel, taking hold of their arms, shoulders or hands with her soft hands to steady herself. In truth, she did not need much help keeping balance. She could sprint on sand wearing heels had she needed to, but every touch, every smile, every feminine "Signomi"Excuse me she'd giggle was just adding to her act. Besides, the men of Secyclion grew up in a society were man was always the more powerful and able of the genders, a delicate woman would only make them feel more at ease with her.

Once they arrived Rochelle gingerly placed her hand on the forearm of the pirate who had initially spoken to her, "Paraklo, na tou poPlease, tell him it would be sofoswise to me deissee me". The smile on her face and smolder of her eyes would ward off any hostility that may be in her words. Rochelle had no worries that Orestes would here word of her looks as men generally found ways to slip physical appeal into any conversation and she could assume that the man did not remember every single one of his sexual recollections as a pirate rarely did. In any case, she only needed to get him in the same room as her, or, since Grot needed to be present as well, the same outdoor space. From there she'd show her hand and start negotiation.

The time passed by and still no Orestes. Rochelle couldn't help but wonder the reasons behind the wait. Had her story not stuck? Maybe she hadn't been convincing enough? Or the pirates had recognized Grot and brought him -and her- into a trap? Though she could hardly imagine how one would trap a giant Rochelle had to consider it an option. There was little she could do now, though, so the girl began looking at the giant turtle and examining it from where she stood. Curious creatures, she'd never seen one before.
