[The Colosseum] Cage Matches Men's Middleweight Match 1 (Verus vs. Dzie)

A buzz filled the air around the Colosseum as the day of the Nexus Prime Cage Fights arrived. Finally... even after the numerous small crisis that Gaston the promoter had to overcome. Guild laziness, a surpring shortage of iron on the market, and the thousand other little fires he had to put out. He looked worriedly at the sky, but the gray clouds soon parted and the sun shone upon the dusty arena. It was time.

The crowd roared as the first fights began. Everyone seemed to place a bet and they were looking for their investments to pay off.

The Cages were magnificent; 20 feet tall by 15 feet wide. Thin, yet strong bars rounded the cage to allow a better view from the crowd. The ground was the dirt of the arena, and two stools sat in opposite corners for the fighters to recline upon in between rounds.

Gaston, the halfling fight promoter announced through a megaphone the next match.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my pleasure to produce the first fight in the Men's Middleweight Division.... Dzie Towen Versus Verus "The Snowman"..." Both fighters entered the arena and climbed into the left iron cage. The doors were shut and they faced each other.

Specatators cursed and cheered at once as the cage rattled with thousands of throats.

[Verus]

Looking up into the sky, Verus saw the grey clouds making way for the light of the suns. It was a good day. It was a day to fight. It was a strange emotion that Verus was feeling. Eagerness. Never before had be been eager to go into a fight, but then again, he couldn’t recall in the past era, getting into a fight that was only for fun, for sport. Before this, it had either been training, or him trying to kill another man. It felt good to know that he could climb into the cage and duke it out with another to find out who was the better. No lives on the line, no grudges held.

Hearing his fight announced, Verus walked towards the cage. Climbing in, he waited for his opponent, one named Dzie Towan. The name sounded familiar, but Verus couldn’t quite place where he knew it. He had met a lot of people in his time in Nexus Prime, it could be one of them, then again, he could only think that the name sounded familiar. Waiting eagerly for his opponent, Verus began pacing back and forth from cage wall to cage wall.
