Located across the street from The Alyssa Chrysinaria Memorial Hospital on a separate island block of streets is a rather extensive healers complex known as The Panacea. Construction of the facility took place in Spring of XIII (pf) and the opening of the facility itself happened in Summer of XIII (pf). As a result, the buildings are a shining example of architecture and craftsmanship in the midst of the aging and slightly rundown Windibreeze Parish located in the Student Quarter of Alleria Prime. With this facility's construction, the city itself hopes to infuse new life into The Windibreeze Parish and usher in a new era designed to designate Windibreeze as a shining and modern example of Healing and Health Care.
The Facility itself is comprised of three main buildings. One, a very large apartment complex, has the capacity to hold 100 students in very utilitarian two room apartments. The top floor, known as The Loft, has larger suites designed to house faculty in three room apartments. Each student floor (all two of them) has modern indoor water closets designed to be used for the entire floor on either end of the building. The basements are comprised of small storage closets. The second main building is comprised of three floors of classrooms, a lecture hall, and two workshops, including three small surgeries and basement designed for the use of magics. One end of this building is also a walk-in massage clinic that does not take appointments but charges student rates. The third building is a small administration complex. Between all three buildings is a park-like grass circle where the students gather to study in good weather. The complex includes a small cafe' off the grass circle designed to feed the students common fare, though many of them opt to cook in their own rooms.
The Panacea Faculty
At the time being, The Panacea is made up of a The Headmaster, The Faculty (still being hired in some cases), The Resident Director, The Nutritionest, and The Groundskeeper.
The Headmaster: Thadius Narcalius, fondly reffered to as Thadius by his colleagues and students. He's been involved in The Panacea since its inception. Thadius has a long track record as being a Master Healer and something of an esentric in his field. He believes in being current on all the recent findings, and still works in the hospital on a regular basis relieving other doctors for vacations and holidays. A human well into his 50's, Thadius thrives on medicine and has invented and innovated many current practices and beliefs.
The Faculty will be announced later.
The Resident Director: Salinda Cordinon, often called Sali, is really just a glorified dorm mother in charge of overseeing the housing and daily needs of the residents and faculty in the dormitory apartments. She's a domestikatta of approximately 15 years of age who is in charge of inspections, cleaning, laundry, and all sorts of functions within the Panacea's
The Nutritionest: Talina Doni, known as Doni to her friends and students, is really simply the cook on site. She is in charge of the little cafe' that feeds and supplies the banquets the facility often holds. A cether of middle age, Doni is seen as rather eccentric though her cooking stills far surpass even some of the gourmet cooks in Alleria Prime.
The Groundskeeper: Falimo Grassworker, or Grass as hes called, is a rather elderly gnome who takes his gardening very seriously. In charge of the Panacea grounds, Grass can be found out and about day or night keeping the place neat and tidy, and on occasion he's been caught teaching the herb courses to the students when other instructors cannot be located. The Panacea has some of the finest herb gardens anywhere, which is directly due to Grass' attention.
Thea Tirrikii (Master Herbalist)
Secrets :
Name:
Thea Tirrikii
Race & Gender:
Mousai, Female
Age:
20 Ordinations
Physical Description & behavior:
Thea looks like a typical mousai, but a very well kept one. Her chestnut brown fur is always well brush and glossy, and her whiskers are always groomed and positioned precisely. Her tail is slightly stubby compared to others of her race, but anyone not familiar with rodenti would not notice it. Poor eyesight requires her to wear spectacles most of the time, which rest someone peculiarly on the tip of her pink nose. She has a penchant for wearing flowery dresses and white aprons. In attitude, she is usually quite quirky and peppy, but not nearly so much as some of her rodenti kin. She also has a natural instinct to mother everyone, and on the whole is quite a likable character, though perhaps on occasion overly sugary-sweet.
History:
Thea's history is a normal one. She was not born in any underground Rodenti city, but rather right in the capital of the empire, though her parents were immigrants from Karhet. Growing up in a poor sector of Prime and being a Rodenti to boot, Thea was often the victim of insults due to her race, but they mostly went right over her head. Once thing it did convince of doing however, was to learn a trade, and make a difference. This she did, and along the way managed to collect a husband and two children, still currently in their early years. Her teaching at the Panacea is dedicated but part-time thanks to an active family life.
Skills:
Master Herbalism
Items or Property Of Note:
Various herbs and implements for making herbal remedies, stored in her classroom at the Panacea.
Can this NPC be used by players in self-moderation or training situations?:
Yes

Thank you Sonya for the curriculum development! This wasn't possible without you.
During each semester, the student will be required to work and fulfill different duties in the Hospital and The Panacea.
The Panacea's Tuition and Enrollment
Because of the generosity of a single benefactor within Alleria Prime itself, The Panacea is able to offer its students their training free of charge. However, since it is an elitist healer training that encompasses everything a healer needs to know, there is a cost involved for the training. After completing a highly tailored preset course structure, the Panacea students must agree to become Panacea Healers for a period of five years after completion of the program. This means that they will be assigned out into the Empire, and are required to go where the Headmaster places them. Entrance to the school is not based on social class, race, or religion. Anyone can join if they follow the entrance steps. There are no drop-in class takers allowed. Everyone must fully join the school and agree to all its edicts in order to take classes.
Although the application process for The Panacea is open to everyone on scholarship, meaning free of tuition, (and students will receive a modest stipend to live on while in the programs), they must complete the following steps successfully to be invited to join.
Must write a letter of introduction to the school including an essay on why they want to join the course and devote 5 years of their life afterwards to the program.
Three letters of recommendation from whomever they can get them from... this would promote RP so that PCs could go see government officials, political leaders, community leaders, guildsman, bankers, and respected members of the community... both PC and NPC to get their recommendations.
Go through an interview process and review board made up of one of the schools npcs, a student representative, and The Headmaster
(Applications will be accepted throughout the year, and posted in the main office of The Panacea, meaning this forum.)

Introduction to the Academy for Possible Enrollment
1st of Junctior, in the Season of Autumn of Era I of the Celestine Mandate (Current Pattern) Era XIII Post Fractum.
Kindest dignitaries and professors,
My name is Joyau delaLune. I came from my village for the express purpose of seeking training in the most prestigious University in the Allerian Empire. "The Panacea of Alleria Prime.
From the time I was a child, I have felt our Goddess Diana calling me to this noble profession. As you are aware, sprite faes are spiritual beings, directly created by the hand and breathe of our noble goddess. It is she who determines our path, and it is through her goodness that I have been led to experience the joy of tending to others as a novice herbalist. I have (educationally) gone as far as I could in my village.
Some of my most prestigious ancestors have been able to perform great service to the Empire from time to time, and their stories have become the myths and legends carefully handed down orally from generation to generation in my village. As you are probably aware, very few of our number ever leave their sacred and secret homeland, which has been protected from intrusion of hostile peoples for many a millenia. Yet I know that I am one who has to leave to fulfil her destiny.
My parents were on their way here to pave the way for my admittance into your elite university when they were killed by a gang of rogue orcs. My heart broke to hear of their death, and I know my life could be in danger, also, for choosing this vocation. However, in spite of these obstacles, my heart has became steadfast on my mission. I only hope that my courage sustains me as I enbark on this perilious and fulfilling journey. It is hoped that the prejudices against my race will not stand in the way of fulfilling my dream.
ooc: Hey there! Welcome to the Panacea. You need to Timestamp your threads, but if your new, don't worry! We will walk you through the process, so relax and have fun.
TS: 1st of Junctior, in the Season of Autumn, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum, the First Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne
Thadius Narcalius was sitting at his desk reading through paperwork when he got the letter from Joyau delaLune across his desk. He looked at it thoroughly, and clicked under his breath. Potential students interested him. He'd interview this one personally. Picking up a quill and dipping it into ink, he penned the girl a letter himself.
Quote:
1st of Junctior, Autumn, Era XIII (pf)
From The Office Of Headmaster Thadius Narcalius
The Panacea, Windibreeze Parish, Alleria Prime
Greetings Joyau delaLune:
It is with deepest sympathy I pen this letter. I know the Empire has been experiencing great unrest with the presence of the Orcs, and the current piracy inflicting the shores of Alleria Prime. I hope this letter finds you in better spirits, despite your losses.
I'd like to humbly express an invitation for you to come seek an interview with me in my office tomorrow, midbrightening, on the 2nd of Junctior. I'm in the third building on the right, first door upon the left once you pass through the entrance.
I assume your letters of recommendation were lost with your parents, and although its highly unorthodox, we will see what we can do in replacing them so your entrance will be as smooth as possible. I must confess though, the interview process is lengthy, so come prepared to sit a while and answer some very difficult questions. Also, come prepared with your own questions as well. We encourage potential students to understand what sort of commitment they are making when they join our ranks.
Sincerely,
Thadius Narcalius,
HeadMaster of The Panacea
The letter was delivered promptly to the girl's location, as indicated by the return address on her introduction letter. Thadius hoped she'd be able to make her interview.

Joyua rushed down the path to the Panacea, half running and half flying, although she knew that humans did not appreciate faes flying in their buildings (perhaps because they could not do so themselves). She knew it was rude, but she had just received the letter this morning and had little time to make the appointment with the headmaster, Thadius Narcalius. Being 2'9 3/4" (she was proud of her height and chose to count every 1/4 inch) her legs were the length of a child of 5.
When she had first read his letter, she could feel tears slowly seep from her eyes. She realized it was the first time she had cried since her parent's death. The kindness in his tone was very cathartic. How could she have ever thought that she would be discriminated against by the great healer. Her own compassion was instinctive, however, his was established by many, many years of experience in the healing arts.
She arrived at his office door on time, thank Diana, but she took a moment to compose herself before she entered his office, making sure that her wings were neatly folded down her back. She took a deep breath and opened the door.

Keirron proudly walked up to the entrance of the Panacae hoping to find out just how to join the organization. She had read the herald article which had inspired her to make the journey. She owned nothing and had but the clothes on her back and the knowledge her parents had taught her. She was a lionoid standing nearly seven feet tall which took most people back when they looked at her. Being female, she had no central mane as the males carried but her rustic fur color was rare among her kind. Like most female lionoids, she held a strong desire to care and nurture but this did not mean she held no knowledge or desire for combat from a protection perspective.
It was this nurturing desire that brought her to the Panacae. She wanted to learn all about arcane and natural healing in order to better take care of the young. Her desires had grown stronger after the reading of the orc attacks across the Empire. Many died and left children stranded needing care and parental guidance. There would be a brightening when Keirron would have land with room enough to house any child in need.
The only fear Keirron felt was that of rejection by the administration of this organization. She was willing to do whatever it took to join, and a five era commitment was nothing to the knowledge she could gain to help the needy children of the Empire. Ask her and she'd tell you she held no fear for she was a lionoid mightiest of all the katta race. With confidence she strolled into the smallest of the three buildings to find out what she must do next by seeking the first person sitting behind a desk she could find.
"Serááá. I am Keirron Ti'Rhaa and would like to know whom I could speak with about joining the Panacae. If you could be so kind as to direct me, I'd be much appreciated."
Thadius Narcalius was in his office and smiled brightly when Joyau delaLune fluttered in. He indicated a tall fae-designed seat across from his desk. "Have a seat, Miss delaLune. I received your letter and it deserved me greatly. I'm glad you found the courage to come here alone, and pursue your dreams. First off, tell me about yourself, and why you are interested in the Panacea." He said, smiling kindly. He studied the young fae as she came in, wondering if she'd do well within the program, knowing this interview would tell him a great deal.

The first person she saw wasn't sitting behind a desk, but rather polishing the floor. It was a student herself, Marci Walace, and she looked startled to see a lionoid within the halls. "Uh...Serale Mam'.." She said politely, then looked over towards an office in the main hall. "That'd be The Headmaster you want to speak too. His office is always open... second door on the right."
When Keirron headed that way, she indeed found the office open and a little man buried in paperwork. He looked up when he saw her, blinked twice, and got another good look. "Ah, a lionoid. I haven't seem many of your kind in the city. It s good to know there are wilderkatta here though. What can I do for you?"

After listening to the kind human, Joyau relaxed and begin speaking slowly and thoughtfully, wondering how much she should confide in the man. She remembered the skeptics in her village who had humiliated her when she told them about her visions and locutions from the Sacred Three, especially her goddess Diana. Maybe she should just tell him about her training and see if that was enough to convince him she was chosen for this vocation.
She cleared her throat and began. "When I was born my parents, Janya and Elsbeth delaLune were delighted to have a girl. There had not been a girl fae born in our family for over a millennia. Of course, after me came my brother, but a girl was ooed and awed over, so they tell me. They were the first ones who told me the family prophecy about a girl child who would become a great healer and mystic visionary. They raised me just as they did my younger brother with great love, attention and discipline. I attended our local schools through university, which I completed one cycle ago. It is then that I asked to train at the panacea in Alleria Prime. It was extremely unusual for any fae to want to leave our village. I'm not supposed to divulge where my village is or even its name to outsiders, however, if you need the name I will trust that you will not write it down so that others may see it. I will name my village and trust in your discretion. Its name is Seneca."
Joyau shifted in her chair nervously, wondering how to proceed. Slowly and carefully she started speaking again, "My great-grandfather, who was killed in the rebellion, was a great healer and counselor. He travelled the empire wherever he was sent by the emperor to work. He was cited with several distinguished service awards. So you see, there is in my family a history of service to the empire."
She again cleared her throat wondering how much of her life she should share ... without suspicion that she was some kind of kook. "I have worked with the unfortunate faes who are disabled for one reason or another. I have studied fae herblore and applied it to my work in relieving mild aches and pains, but as you know, it takes a fae hundreds of years to become proficient in herbology because frankly, faes are an uncommonly healthy race. And, of course, living in a secluded village, there are not occasions to treat battle wounds and the psychological problems of war."
She thought back to last night and meeting Jalun. He could certainly use counseling but she was not able to help him. Perhaps some day she would.
"Is there anything else you would like to know about me?
She looked up expectantly at the director. Her eyes betrayed her nervousness.
"Thank you," Keirron replied politely to the student who had helped her gain the information she needed.
She was very excited to have gained the knowledge quickly and headed right over to the headmaster's office to speak once again of enrollment. The directions were easy and following them was no problem. Arriving at the door, she gave a few raps on the wood making quick note of the man buried in paperwork. Upon his acknowledgement of her presence she stepped through the door and into the office. He looked twice at her which made her feel uncomfortable for but a second until he commented on not seeing many wilderkatta but being happy as to her arrival.
"Seraaa, Headmaster. I am Keirron Ti'Rhaa. I am here to find out more about more of your program and the training I will receive. It is my desire to sign up to learning healing, both natural and arcane, along with the skills to enhance such talents. I read of this place in the Herald and knew right away that I must visit."
ooc: all correspondences to the Panacea will be taken directly in this thread guys
Joyau delaLune
Thadius Narcalius looked thoughtful. "Of course I will be discrete about your village and its location. And I must say I'm impressed. Of course, you do understand that entrance to The Panacea requires several things... dedication of time, enthusiasm which I think you have, three letters of recommendation, and an interview process. This is strict protocol. You can get the letters mailed here, but they themselves need to be mailed by persons in community or government positions... though one can be via a family member." He smiled, then thought of another question.
"I do have one more question, Joyau... why do you seek training here in Alleria Prime from the Panacea instead of strictly working on Fae Medicine elsewhere? It seems a little unusual." He added, though not unkindly.
Keirron Ti'Rhaa
The Headmaster Narcalius looked thoughtfully at the katta when she was escorted in. "Hello there. I see your name is Keirron Ti'Rhaa?" He said glancing at his appointment list. He smiled at her, though in truth he was puzzled. Very rarely did Katta apply for entrance to the Panacea, though lately he'd had a rash of rather odd students. Not that he minded one bit, it just made for certain headaches in the classroom, modifying equipment and being species sensitive in the lectures. Thadius made a welcoming gesture and indicated a chair across from his desk. "Have a seat. I understand that your seeking entrance into the Pancea. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself? I think you should know too that it takes a three letters of recommendation, a letter of introduction from yourself personally, and an interview to gain admittance. But your in luck, we are starting a new class soon and there still are openings." He added, then sit back to let her talk a little about herself.

Midday of 9th of Junctior, in the Season of Autumn, Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum
The day was warm and the wind calm, Eyvind was glad because he wasn't that fond of finding any kind of cold in a place so far South of his homeland. Walking towards the main door Eyvind saw a gnome taking care of a garden. Approaching Eyvind ask "Serale. I am looking to meet the Headmaster of the Panacea, where can I find him?"
ooc: You should have poked me about this. I didn't see this for the longest time!
The headmaster wasn't hard to find. The first student Eyvind stopped, pointed him to the right place. He was ushered right in, and offered a seat. The office was spartan, but rather warm and inviting all at once. The headmaster, Thadius Narcalius, smiled in greeting.
"So, what brings you to the Panacea today, solider?' He asked, pleasantly. He was sitting at his desk, working on some important papers designed to acquire more financing for some additions going in later in the season.
