Caelator Silvae: Narim
Rebuilt and expanded thanks to the coming of a new owner, the woodcrafting workshop once named Edwin's was reopened to serve Narim and all such who would provide business for the place again. A sign with the name of the workshop was prominently displayed beside the entrance, where a bored looking man set behind a desk of sorts under a simply constructed roof. By all the looks of it, he was the guard and point man of the place, though in reality the fellow happened to also be an assistant with the financial aspects of the business.
The entryway into the place led into an open yard where all around were people working on woods of various kinds. Simple roofs protected what was otherwise the simple, hard-packed ground with worktables set to the side where various tools and piles of arranged lumber were. One large shed sheltered the large stacks of lumber and woods where they would get their raw material from, to be worked on in the three worksheds spaced evenly around an open center. An officeplace of sorts was set towards the back and left of the closed-wall compound, set slightly away from the woodworking sheds, free from the dust and other by-products of their work, which doubled as a rest-shed and eating area for when they took their breaks.
A few young fellows moved to and frounder the overseeing of the two lead craftsmen, one being Erwin himself, his skill hardly any less although the passion and life he'd had before somewhat diminished since times past. The other fellow set here, who was quite less jaded and worn, though slightly less skillful then Erwin himself perhaps, was a rust-bearded dwarf by the name Cethron, and he was often joked at that his name was so close to the patron Aetherian of the dwarves, though it was something that he took with a fair bit of pride. Together, the pair watched over the work and progress of no less then six workers of various skills, tasking to jobs as was needed.

Optia, Summer, Era XI Post Fractum
It was then, among the hustle and bustle of the woodshoop floor, that Tukin arrived. Tukin was short, even for a cether. The sounds of the wood cutting reminded him of home, and he took a large whiff of the fresh smells swirling around the place. He looked around quizzically, looking for the person in charge. Being so short, this was quite the task, and he was quickly puzzled. He decided to just stand there until someone noticed him and inquired of his visit.
Soon Erwin came over to the small man and extended his hand. The cether accepted it with his own.
"Serale," said Tukin, "my name is Tukin Shillbroughter. I am here to place an order. I do hope you are in the shape to take such an order!"
The cether chuckled and pulled out a small piece of parchment, showing it to the craftsman, and reading it from memory.
"I am putting together a classroom at the local school. I will need about 30 chairs and 30 desks, with an additional table and a couple cabinets. Will you be able to fulfill this order? And how long will it take? Not to mention the price, mind you."
The cether chuckled again and awaited Erwin's response.

Erwin shook the halfling's hand firmly. "Serale, Master..." Edwin frowned a bit in thought, trying to get around the name,"...Shillbroughter, was it? Well, what can I do for you?" The woodcrafter folded his arms across his chest and nodded at the cether. The man looked down to the piece of parchment and took it into hand after he'd uncrossed his arms again. He took the small message and red it, nodding here and there as the cether spoke and detailed his orders.
Edwin thought it over and looked to his crew, doing some estimates in his mind. If he tasked the whole crew to work on the order, they'd be finished quite quickly. But of course he couldn't do that. There were other orders to take care of, not just from Narim at that, but from nearby cities as well as they supplied other furnishing stores. The designs wouldn't be hard to come by. He had a suitable supply around, the cabinets to be certain, perhaps some working tables. The main problem would be the thirty chairs and desks suited for a school. "A cycle should do it." He finally replied to the cether.
He shifted and nodded again. "A cycle. I'll need to make your pieces sturdy to withstand the wear and tear of children, no doubt. So they'll be a bit pricier than a nun of the mill one. Desk comes to around 350 crowns each, the chairs will be around 50 crowns a piece. Teacher's desk would be a bit more, I guess, say 400 crowns. The cabinets, comes to around 175 crowns each." Edwin shrugged. "It's for a school though, so I'll cut you off a bit of a discount." He had a head for numbers, but he wasn't a genius with it. For that, he had the fellow at the front.
"Galeon! Take this down for me will you?" He called the young man over, who came up to Edwin after a moment. He took the paper, the numbers and the orders. While he calculated, Edwin turned back to the cether. "So, Master, eh...Tukin. How will you be paying for this? We usually do half up front, then half on delivery. What do you think of that?" While he waited for Tukin to reply, the man was given the paper by Galeon, number scrawled over it giving him the grand total of 12,113 crowns.

The cether nodded respectably at Erwin.
"A cycle is fine. And the price seems fair. It is a rather large workload we are asking for you to complete."
The man continued to do calculations, figuring the final cost of the furniture for the school and relaying it up front. Tukin was finally passed a piece of paper with the price written on it. 12,113. It was a bit much, but the school needed it, and he was glad to pay it. Half up front was it?
The cether rummaged around in his pockets before producing a booklet, a well of ink, and a pen. Lying them down on the counter, he flipped to the topmost page in the booklet and dipped his quill in the ink. After figuring the amount of the first payment in his head, he then looked up at Erwin expectantly.
"You do accept banknotes, correct?"

"That's settle then." Edwin called over one of his apprentices and gave the paper over to him to being preparations, then sent him away to get the preliminaries done. He waited for the cether to hand over the cash, or inform him on how he'd be giving it to them when Tukin mentioned about the bank notes. Edwin looked towards Galeon, who nodded affirmatively. He looked back at the cether and gave a nod of his own as well. "Notes are fine."
Galeon cleared his throat and added, "We'll have to check up on your accounts of course, just to be sure." He looked a bit sheepish as he said that. "Part of proceedures you know, security of finances and all that."

The cether smiled as he nodded towards the man.
"That is fine. Not a problem at all, do not worry about it."
The small man proceeded to write out the amount due upon his chequebook and carefully ripped out a banknote, addressed to the Caelator Silvae, from Tukin Shillbroughter, and concerning the amount of 6,507 crowns. The cether dipped his pen into the ink once more to adorn the banknote with his signature, added with flourish, and after blowing on the piece of paper to insure dryness, handed it over to Galeon.
"There you go sir. Then I shall expect the shipment to be delivered to the school in a cycle. I trust you shall be able to find it, yes? Or will you need directions?"
As he awaited an answer he proceeded to cork up his well of ink and dry off his pen, putting both back into his vastly large side pockets. After making sure they were secure, he tried to straighten his tousled hair, looking up at the taller men around him.

Edwin eyed the cether curiously, then took the note. He inspected it summarily before giving to Galeon, who scrutinized it more carefully as he left on the way back to the desk near the compound's front. Edwin nodded at Tukin then. "Well, we're starting work on your items. The furniture pieces shall be done when you need them, just be sure to come by with the rest of the payment by then." He began to turn away, before he stopped and looked back.
"Would there be anything else, Mister...ah, Shillbroughter?" Edwin asked of the halfling. If there was nothing more to be dealt with, Edwin would go follow the apprentices he'd tasked to the job and inspect how they were beginning. He had a few other projects to work on, and he'd be doing them himself of course, as was befit a master craftsman.

The cether nodded as the cheque seemed to pass the inspection given by the mill workers, and he packed up all of his paper, ink, and quill. He was addressed again before leaving, inquiring of anything else that could be done for him.
"No, no. That will be all. I will be back in a cycle then to make the final payment and give directions so that the items delivered to the school."
The cether tapped his temple and continued.
"Hm, yes. The items will need to be delivered. Will that cost extra or is it included with the purchase?"
The cether looked up at the human expectantly, his brow furrowed, hoping that it would not cost any more to outfit the new school that was being built. The budget was only so large.

The man was turning away to continue his work at the cether's reply, before he threw forth another query. Edwin suppressed showing his exasperation, or what he felt of it. Still, business was business after all. He turned back to the halfling and shook his head. "It wont cost much. A couple hundred crowns at the very most for the transportation from here to wherever it is. If its fairly close, it'll be cheaper of course." He paused and shrugged. "If its inside the city, that is. If its outside, that'd be a bit more costly of course."
Edwin rubbed his neck, looking down at the halfling. "So, will that be all?"

The cether put his hand up and smiled, telling Edwin all was well. The man looked annoyed, and he did not want to bother him. But, well, it needed to be done. Without these desks and chairs, the school could not be completed. It was his job to make sure things came together.
"No no, that is all. I shall come by in a cycle then to pay the remainder and give you the address for the shipment."
The cether bowed to the man, shoved his hands in his pockets, and shuffled off. He was To return once more when the task was complete. Until then there was many a plan to finish with the school.
