In search of a lyre (but seeking truth) - open
Timestamp - a couple of days after the assassination of the Prefect.
Jorhan was wandering the streets of the mercantile district, having left his house early. He had intended to have a lie-in this morning but kept turning the events of the past few days over in his mind. Finally he had kicked of the bed clothes in disgust, splashed some freezing water on his face to clear his head and dressed perfunctually.
Deciding that he needed to get his thoughts in order, he left his house, putting his single sticks though the loops in his belt. Normally he wouldn't arm himself for a wander around his home town, but the terrible cold-blooded killing of the Prefect had altered his perception of Narim. And who knew where the killers were now, they could be around the next corner for all he, and everyone else bar the actual killers knew.
It was a bright and fairly chilly morning with a slight frost still carpeting the more exposed places around his seaside house and he set off towards the mercantile district at a leisurely amble, taking the time to try to straighten out his thoughts regarding… well everything really!
He made up his mind to look for somewhere to buy or commission a lyre so that he could begin lessons in the instrument at the institute, hoping to learn at least a modicum of skill. Why not just spend the morning wandering the Shvakkim, listen to the gossip and maybe take in a little lunch?
It was possible he may pick up something of interest which could shed more light on the dreadful goings on surrounding the assassination. He would also look out to see if he could just happen to bump into any of the witnesses who were there that day; after all, there was a sizable crowd in the square, plus the people up on the roof. He must be able to meet someone with some different perspective than his.
So thinking he headed into the main mercantile district of the bustling seaside town noticing several early morning hawkers setting up their stalls and opening shops, it looked as though Narim was going to keep up its business habits regardless of the loss of its Prefect. It looked likely to be a busy day!
