The Black and White Armory

Compared to the surrounding buildings in Narim’s mercantile district The Black and White Armory was fairly eye catching. Built in the Federal style with a spacious frontal balcony and a broad central staircase it looked more like the misplaced home of some minor noble than a weapons retailer. There were no window displays, as all of the windows on the faηade were frosted and the majority of the ones on the side were as well. Aside from the constant plume of smoke that billowed out of the back, the only hinting of what actually went on inside was the wooden sign that hung at the landing of the stairs where they met the balcony, detailing a white saber crossed over a black hammer and bearing the establishment’s name.

The main entrance was a set of solid oak double doors, lacquered to make them more durable. They both featured two large frosted glass panes, upon which etched roses and chrysanthemums weaved back and forth, having sprouted from interlacing vines. An educated customer would recognize them as being subtle reminders of life and death, two very primal domains in which weapons had stakes. Upon entry, one would be presented with another contrast, as the exterior had been serene and welcoming the hallway one was faced with was foreboding and seemingly gave off a feeling of malaise. Braziers mounted fairly far apart and low to the ground bathed the stretch in a soft red light.

The main room, where business was conducted and the weapons were displayed, was certainly more welcoming than the walk that preceded it. A large skylight was enough to light the majority of the room, but in addition to it, sunlight filtered into the area in broad columns from where the windows were not frosted. At either side of the entrance into the hallway were two showpieces of some of the weapon smith’s finest work. Two full suits of black Gothic full-plate armor, each armed with a short spear and short sword. Given the large nature of the main showroom, a customer would also notice four more of these marvelous specimens of craftsmanship stationed in each corner of the room. Filling the central area were several columns of wooden shelves and racks, each about the shoulder height for the average human. At the ends of each row were tomes, and upon inspection one would notice that they catalogued the things that were currently in stock, being sorted by different color codes. Weapons were organized by type, although it was clear that they were all basic models lacking any sort of customization to differentiate them from their cousins. Specialty order would have to be made at the counter.

On certain days a regal looking Vysstichi could be seen milling about and smiling to himself, but generally behind the counter was a grim-faced muscular, but youngish, half-Vysstichi with striking blue eyes that hinted of his mixed heritage.

Triton is an upstanding Citizen
Triton was glad to see a new shop up in Narim, and he liked the way the place looked. This place did not look much like an armory but it had to be. It seemed almost forever since he reached the counter but upon entering he noticed that Eschaton was not there. He did not mind though, he was here to make a business transaction after all. When finally reached the counter, Triton noticed he was the only customer in the store.

"Good day sir, I would like 5 throwing knives please." Triton asked the clerk.

Triton

Rinth looked up at a Vysstichi walked into the room, and his blue eyes looked over him, his grim face set in a straight line, making him look rather like his father Forvart, nevertheless the youngish man was more welcoming then his father, and even managed a small smile for Triton as he asked for 5 throwing knives.

"Good brightening to you too," Rinth said, moving to get the order that Triton asked for. "Five throwing knives will be," the young man thought for a moment, crossing his arms and resting them on dark, rippling muscle. "150 crowns," Rinth placed the knives in front of Triton , and waited for the crowns.

Triton hands the half dark elf his crowns, though he is still looking around the store.

"By and chance is Eschaton here? I am a friend of his and was wondering if you know him or if he was ever here."

Triton knew that his friend had recently opened a new shop in Narim, and he started his search here since this was the newest building. He doubted that the Rouge Gusto was Eschatons so this had to be the place, yet he was no where to be found.

Rinth, the young smith, looked over Triton with appraising blue eyes as the Vysstichi asked for the owner of the establishment. It was a look more that seemed rather uncaring then anything else, as the young vysstichi shifted his feet resting one muscled arms on the desk in front of him.

“Eshcaton?” The smith said momentarily, his heavy set voice not matching the youngness of his seemingly dark, but elven face. “If you are talking about Synrei, I have not seem him around today, he pops in and out when he feels like it,” Rinth shrugged. “He’s unpredictable, but he’s sure to come in at sometime, perhaps I can take a message for him… sir?”

"Rinth you good for nothing little bastard! what do you think your doing offering the same weapons I am? Where's that double crossing Vyssie at? Friend indeed!!!" Forvart fumed as he burst into the newly opened armoury. "Synrei , you may own 40% of my business, but that doesn't mean you can skimp out on the deal we made. The deal was you wouldn't sell items that I stock, and yet here you are selling the same blades I do, bows, crossbows, arrows and dozens of other items that are forbidden by are agreement. Get yer Vyssie hide out here and get explaining" the half vyssie blacksmith bellowed, obviously in a bad mood as he slammed his fists onto the counter.

"It's bad enough I have that bastard of a thane raising my taxes, I DON'T need my own business partner trying to run my shop out of business selling my own stock. Either you take all those basic Swords and ALL bows and crossbows off your stock or the deals off and things are going to get messy my friend." the large blacksmith sneered as he crossed his arms awaiting his "partners" response.

Eschaton, who was usually never present at his own armory was oddly enough in the basement this day, shooing out rats and polishing the weapons in the underground storeroom. Having nothing really important to do that brightening he had stopped in shortly after the second sunrise and helped Rinth out with his smithing duties at the rear of the establishment in the forge.

However, hearing the commotion upstairs, and the mention of his alter ego's name from a somewhat familiar voice, Eschaton sighed and began the trek upstairs. Emerging from a trap door in the anteroom that was behind the main display room where the weapons were neatly organized on racks and business was handled.

Frowning when he saw Forvart, Eschaton sighed in the typical manner a noble might when annoyed with the rabble and decided he would try to defuse this situation before it escalated. That is, provided it hadn't already in the mind of the surly half-bred smith. "Firstly Forvart, you cannot break the deal unless you buy back my share of stock in your business--which isn't for sale. And secondly, save your threats...they are useless and most unnecessary. So, provide me with a list of these 'questionable items' as you say and we can work this out like the gentlemen we are."

Twilight and Synrei

Rinth just stood, first looking at his father and then looking at his boss, his blue eyes flashing with an almost uncertainty that clouded his face, making his elven features even more prominent. It seemed he was torn between his loyalty to the man that was his 'so called' father, and the man that had given him a job. It was a tough situation to be in, and one that made the young, dark, but mainly elven man nervous. Yet he stayed quiet, he was used to his father's gruff manner, the harsh words, and the rough speaking that came with being the offspring of Forvart... Rinth knew it was just his way, but he also knew that Forvart had spoken of Synrei as a good friend and a partner, but nevertheless his father was easily riled.

So the young smith just stood in silence, to be called forth if necessary, but for which side would have to yet to be assitained.

OOC: time frame wise this is about a day after the "discussion" with Forvart; thanks.

IC: there came a slight knock at the door and a lone figure appeared, a small cloud of dust billowed in after him as if following the man. The clink of metal could be heard from the man as he approached the counter, and before he had even stopped he had brought his weapon round in front of him held horizontal in front of himself. Placing the Guisearme reverently upon the counter The man grinned.
"The names Waylander and it's truely a pleasure to meet you friend, The sign outside states that you make custom weapons, is this true, and if so I'd like to make a request" groping into his pack Waylander produced a sheaf of diagrams sketched onto papyrus; holding one end Waylander unrolled the papyrus revealing a set of complicated diagrams and numbers.
"I picked this up years ago off a drunken sea captain in a game of dice, apparently it's a Tiegeo Makara at least that's what he called it, he said he had picked up the plans on one of his voyages, from a desert tribe somewhere to the south. it's a double bladed staff roughly five feet in lengh, the haft is all one long curved blade, at its largest point around 4 inches wide, as you can see it only widens out to about 3/4 of an inch near the handle the rest is tapered down to the point. the interesting feature of this weapon is that the blades curve in opposite much like a windmill. In the middle of the blade is a single handle, wrapped in leather roughly 7 inches long guarded by the continuation of the blade along the outside and flaring out onto the blade on the inside. I think the diagram says something about a splitting handle but I haven't been able to deceifer this diagram" Waylander said pointing out each feature of the blade, coming at last to a picture of what could only be the handle, but there was a cross section detailing some bizzare locking system.

After letting the smith examine the parchment for a while Waylander bent in again... "So do you think you can make it, or was this that old sea farers idea of a joke?" Waylander asked looking the smith directly in the eyes.

Skylar Notrocia is an upstanding Citizen
Skylar opened the door and and stepped inside taking her hood off. She placed her spear against the wall next to the door and took off her pack. Skylar then took off her black cloak and shofer cap and stuffed it in her pack. Skylar walked up to the counter, carrying her pack and spear. She places her pack on the counter and rests her spear against it.

"Hello young smith." Skylar says to him and brushes a stray hair behind her ear. "Do you have any elven armor hear at this fine armory?"

(OOC: Rain or even better Eschaton, I feel so selfish but is it possible that member's of House D'rinshad get a discount? I wouldn't care either way.)

Lydia Cain is an upstanding Citizen
Lydia walked into the shop, throwing back her hood, her Vysstichi features clear in the light that was inside the shop. Seeing an arguement between one man, and a Vysstichi, she decided to plod her way into the middle of it, and be blunt as hell about her business.

"You Vysstichi, are you one Synrei? and did you know of my mother Sylvan Cain" she stated simply paying the other man utterly no heed whatsoever. As she did not care about what he watned with the other Dark Elf, she was merely concerned about what she wanted.

Taramis is an upstanding Citizen
Taramis walked into the store and was imediatley was struck by the long list of weapons, he took several moments to look the list over, keeping in mind how many crowns he had, after several minutes, he decided on the Quick Silver Sword.

He walked up to the half-Morquendi at the counter and said,"Serale, I would like the Quick Silver sword sir, and I would like the metal colored black." At the same time, he reached into his cloak and drew out the pouch he kept his crowns in, carefully measuring out the right amount of coins.

Waylander

Rinth looked over the plans, a small smile creeping onto his lips, as his blue eyes sparkled, looking up at Waylander with a small chuckle. “Nah no joke my friend… I think it can be accomplished, though it’ll be a lot of work that’s for sure, and expensive too… how many crowns are you willing to spend on this beauty, for it’ll be a bit of moment, especially with the amount of steel needed to go into it,”

Skylar
OOC: I have been instructed that members of the house can get discounts… but how am I to know if you are a member or not

IC:
The young smith looked over the woman for a moment, his deep blue eyes in momentary thought. “Well I certainly can make you some elven armour, but the price and the amount of the steel that I have in stock is quite limited currently… but depending on what you want I am sure I can do it for you… what exactly do you want?”

Lydia
OOC: So I am assuming this is with Twilight, *sighs* okay Syn, you can reply to this… though its going to be a wait, with Twilight being sporadic… so we’ll have to see.

Taramis

Rinth, the young smith nodded to Taramis, with a small smile. “That’ll be 370 crowns all up with the colorization,” the smith said awaiting payment. “It’ll take about 3 brightnings along with other work I have to complete for it to be finalized, so you can return then,” The smith gave him a small, bored smile, as he awaited for the crowns to be paid.

Taramis took the appropriate amount of crowns out of his pouch and laid them on the counter. Taramis smiled back at the young smith and said,"I'll be back in three brightenings."

(OOC: Good question... hmmm... wait till Eschaton arrives? Also go look at the player faction of House D'rinshad, I'm under family members)

IC: "I would like a full set of light elven armor. I must also speak with Synrei for something. How much would a full suit of elven armor roughly be?" She asked and brushed a strand peice of hair back. She waits calmly for Synrei to arrive.
