A note about the Kitty.

Many of you have probably not Roleplayed with BlueberryKitty. I hope you enjoy the experience! However, I figured a bit about how I work might be a nice thing for you PCs and visitors of Riparia.

I write for story. Story is far more important to me than reward or combat or training. Because of this, I encourage the PCs to take control of their environment, and make the story as realistic as possible. You're not likely to hear me scream "Bunny!" very often.

I have an active PC. I'm sure you all know Elle Trellian Kaldres.
I have an active secondary PC. I doubt many of you know Callig an'Cianol.
I am an active Player Advisor. Alleria's other Kitty, ElleKitty.

Because of the high level of activity I have in Alleria, I cannot moderate every thread that you, as PCs, create in Riparia. For this reason the Game Directorate has introduced Peer Moderation and Self Moderation. I highly encourage the use of Peer Moderation in Riparia. Personally, I don't think Self-moderation is any fun at all, but it has its uses. I am sorry, I will moderate threads. But I prefer to retain what little creativity I have for threads that affect Riparia as a whole, rather than the smaller threads that affect only one PC.

I am always open to suggestions, and available for comments and questions. PM me at any time. Unless I'm away on a vacation, I will answer your PM within 24 hours in one way or another.

I do have another thread that I'm looking to have modded, I just haven't managed to get started on the self mod thing. (basic horsemanship - Mercantile district, started by Ladon and around 90 days old if memory serves.

Anyway I look forward to posting with you.

I just posted at the gates, with some vague reason for Rhysean to come to Riparia. Truth is that I have no idea what that is about, and completely made it up. Just wanted to let you know (^.^). I'll be posting in the city itself on monday, starting an investigation to find whoever it is I'm looking for.

Hello good folk of Riparia,

I was wondering what oocasions for establishing a shop I may find in Riparia. Is there a condition to establish a commerce such as being resident? Is there any racial prejudice for a Dorin ( I know Natura have a slight racial hate against non humanoides for I modded It that way ).

What are the priced for a four-room equivalent shop and is there any tax to pay?

I know that's a lot of questions but I want to choose a good place for the shop which is to sell fine wares and silk clothes (from Arakmat of course).

I prefer shop owners to be citizens of Riparia, but that doesn't mean you can't establish one and live out of town. There is no general racial prejudice in Riparia, being a city of Commerce; but that doesn't mean you won't encounter individial racisms. The Aedile might be a Katta that hates Dorin- the Clerk at the Hotel might be a Light elf that hates Vyssi. But in general Riparia is open to all.

A four room shop? That's fairly large, and I imagine the cost would be around five thousand crowns for the building and property. Then you'd have to apply at the Merchant's Guild, and I think it is a thousand crowns for a license and membership, or just 750 crowns for the license. Where ever you choose to put your store, it has to go on Merchant's Road. This is the road that runs from one side of Riparia to the other.. Residential districts are on either side of this road, and the government is in the direct center of it. There's a map, if you read the Beginner's Guide to Riparia thread.

You have no idea how glad I am to see the new and old faces posting in this forum once more. Hopefully together we can bring Riparia back to the former glory that I remember it having beneath the days of old GM Mike. I'd say GM Ladon, but I never really knew him well. *mourns*

So you may need to sort that out before he and Tradius come to blows. Or not, I'd be happy with the latter actually.

No, I didn't know that actually. o.o It wasn't listed as being part owned by any NPCs. Not that it matters anymore; Tradieus didn't have the crowns to make the payment.

Alright, everyone who pays attention to Riparia.

The kitty has done some serious scratching around the forum.

• In addition to the two main threads; Between a Rock and a Hot Place and the Riparian Annual Fight Tournament, there have been some other changes in the city of Riparia.
  
• Aesthically, the Subforums for the Circle of Seven Battle Institute and the Riparian Guard do not meet the minimum requirements for keeping them around. All threads once in those forums have been moved to the main forum, and the GD will be/have deleted the two. Merchant District has merely been renamed Merchant's Road.
  
• Keep an eye out for new locations popping up both in the Subforum and the Main forum. I really want to change the focus of the city to one of arts and beauty in addition to Merchant and the Riparian Mining Company. If anyone is interested in working for the Mining Company, let me know. There are lots of opportunities there.
  
• Quix, Riparia's PC thane has decided to move on. I believe it is in Spring that he will be tendering his resignation to the Governor of Centripax. Therefore- all city official positions are open for PCs to apply. Each position has an NPC occupying it presently, so that the city doesn't grind to a halt. Anyone interested in political positions contact me as well.
  
• Anyone who is interested in writing up shops or locations for Riparia are INVITED to do so. Please post your descriptions in the Riparian Realmcraft thread for me to look over. Shops are welcomed in both OOC format, as simply writing them up with an NPC owner, or your PC is invited to come purchase a building, inventory and giving such a go IC.

OOC NOTIFICATION: The Aedile has posted notices around Riparia; anyone who owns business property is required to come to the Aedile's office and pay a 500 crown tax. Whether you pay this tax is entirely up to you but be warned; Commercial property that isn't recorded in the Aedile as having paid this tax will be listed as vacant/ abandoned and repossessed by the City of Riparia.
