Riparian Guard - Enrollment office

[Ladon]

The enrollment office was on the ground floor of the Command Centre. A number of posters were stuck on the walls giving information of the guard and the jobs that were available to a member of the guard. The office was, other than the posters a plain affair. There was a desk which had stacks of various forms, a lamp, and a large leather bound Log book on it. There was also a set of drawers in the corner.

The Enrollment sergeant sat behind the desk. He is smartly dressed in the dress uniform of the guard and smiles as prospective recruits come into the office.

"Serale Citizen, My name is sergeant Qual'irh. How can I help you this brightening?

[Bormiss]

OOC: I guess im already enrolled as a guard, but I'll reply here to make it official. Thanks for seting this up.

Bormiss approached the enrollment office very excited. He was very surprised how things were working out for him in the town of Riparia. He then stepped into the door way and found a sergeant standing there. The sergeant was very nicely dressed and sat at his chair straight up and seriously.

" Serale sergeant Qual'irh, my name is Bormiss. Im a private in the militia. Im part of the Alpha squad. I lost my group through fog and here I am in Riparia. Im in need of some place to rest, if you could find such a place for me to rest I would be greatly honored. Im also here to help the town of Riparia and keep it safe from any thieves, being that the city is very populated.

Bormiss stood there straight up and then saluted his sergeant.

[Vinston]

Vinston entered the office, his stride confidence although he was not at all sure he was in the right place. The Dwarf spent a few seconds studying the posters, then directed his attention towards the well dressed Sergeant Qual'ihr. He spoke loudly and clearly, hardly a hint of Dwarven accent in his speech.

"Serale Sergeant. I'm Vinston." He paused a second, letting the Sergeant realize his presence. "I'd like a little information on joining the Guard. I'm untrained and inexperienced but eager to learn."

Vinston stood tall, awaiting responce from the Sergeant.

Bormiss

The sergeant smiled at the information that Bormiss had provided.

"So you are already a private in another group, but if you are wanting to stay around awhile then I would like to offer you a bed in our barracks here. We have a number of rooms free at the moment, but Hopefully that will change as the popukation of the city begin to take an interest in their own safety. Any way, All I can ask is that you fill out this registration card and then I will give yo the key to your room in the barracks. Dont fill the room number in That's my job when I give you your key. Once you have settled into your room I will arrange for the Captain of the guard to see you. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask them as we complete the enrollment process. "

The registration card was simple affair, but it would help the enrollment sergent to sort out the details for the captain of the guard.

The sergeant smiled as he passed Bormiss a Quill so that he complete the form.


Vinston

The enrollment Sergeant smiled at the dwarf that had come into his office. The sergenat was always happy to give information to new prospective recruits to the Guard of the city.

" Serale Vinston. Well you are wanting more information about a carrer in the Riparian City Guard. Well, we are a proud group of soldiers that act as the police and army of the City of Riparia. We currently have approximately fifteen thousand individuals in the guard. These are split into five squadrons. There are many different jobs that a guardsman can perform, and you are able to receive much training in the roll of being a guard for this great City. Obviously if you want to enroll then I will have to enroll you on our basic training course that lasts for a cycle. If at the end of a cycle you do not feel that this is the life for you then you have lost nothing, and you will have gained a little training for free in the process. But if you find that this is your chosen career then you will be enrolled as a full time member of the guard and will comtinue your training in other aspects of the job. So Vinston, Do you want to have a challenge in your life? Do you want to do something worthwhile for the city of Riparia? If so then all I ask you to do is fill in the following card and I will hand you your room key and we will get you on your way to a new life in the Riparian Guard. "

Bormiss was please to hear how nicely sergeant Qual'irh treated him. Not one thing bad had happen to him from the begining he enter the Riparia gates. Bormiss grabbed the form from sergeant Qual'irh's hand and began to fill out the form:

Bormiss filled the form out with very little thought, he was very excited to begin. He handed the form back with a smile:



" There you go sir, im very excited and ready to get things started when you are!"

The recruiting Sergeant looked the form over then took a key from the drawer in his desk.

Room 341

He copied this room number into the space provided on the form that Bomiss had filled out, before handing the key to the new member of the Riparian Guard.

Well Bomiss, it would seem that you are in luck the room that you have been allotted is only on the third floor of the barracks, room 341. You will find the barracks just off to the right of this building. The rooms are pretty basic, but should suffice for a member of the guard. So I will inform the Captain of the guard and he will, most probably come to see you in your room. He will give you your detail and the squad that you belong to, so until that time, I welcome you and wish you well in your time as a member of the Riparian Guard.

occ - I will create a thread for you room so that the captain will be able to see you there. It will also be the thread that is updated with orders from the captain every so often, so I should be able to keep you busy .

[Bormiss]

Bormiss smiled at sergeant Qual'irh. He grabbed the key to his room and saluted the sergeant. Bormiss headed tward the door. Almost heading off before saying thanks and goodbye, he turned around.

" Thank you sergeant Qual'irh, I will be glad with any room. I just hope as a guard, I can serve Riparia to the fullest. I thank you again and I bid you farewell."

OOC: Thanks Ladon for all this. Im actually a bit excited to see how this whole guard thing will end up.

Vinston listened carefully to the Sergeant, and pondering it for only a second, decided that he would indeed like to apply for the Guard. If he hated it, which the Dwarf surely didn't expect, than he could leave after a cycle. However, Vinston was nearly certain he would love being part of the Riparian Guard.

He took the form and filled it out quickly, filling in the obvious answers and handing it back in to the Sergeant at the desk.

"There you are," Vinston said as he handed the paper over. "Wasn't sure what to put for the last three. I don't have a room, and there's really nothing particular I want to do. I'd just like to give basic training. Thank you.

Vinston smiled to the Sergeant, and attempted a crisp salute.

The recruiting sergeant smiled at the new recruit, that would soon give a much better and polished salute than the one he had just offered. He opened the drawer on his desk, and pulled out the next key that was available, and filled in the form with the room number, for reference.

Room 345

Well your room is on the third floor, about halfways down the corridor and on the right. Other than That, I welcome you to the Riparian Guard, and hope you enjoy your basic training.

ooc - I will set up your room thread tomorrow, This will be where you will get your instructions from the captain of the guard, and I will also set-up your basic Guards training thread as well. so tomorrow you will begin to get busy, and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Zakharias entered the Enrollment office and strated browsing through the inumerous panflets all over the walls. he couldnt help eavesdropping on what it seemed the sergeant, explaining to a dwarf the life of a city guard.
Has he heard that there was a try-out period of a cycle, he thought that he would like to joint the city guard.
"Food, bed, training and payment" Zakharias thought. "that would be perfect"

As the dwarf saluted, Zakharias stepped up to the counter, removed one of the forms and started filling it out

"Serale, i am ready to join the Riparian Guard. I only have one question. What will we be trained on? what sort of weaponry? swords? axes? Zinn'ka?"

He waited patiently with his form sticking out of his hand.

ooc - welcome to our guard of the city. you are welcome to join and yes there is a good life to be had but the basic training is not going to be easy, so lets get you enrolled.

ic - The recruiting sergeant looked up as he finished speaking with the last new guard recruit. He accepted the form as it was handed to him and read it through.

Serale and welcome citizen. It is a busy brightening that brings you to my office. Now then lets get you through this sign up and enrolled so that you can join with our other new recruits as well.

The sergeant went to his drawer again, and drew out the next available key

Room 349

The sergeant notted the room number onto the enrollment form so that all the details were in order and then handed the key to the new recruit.

Well here's your room key. You may go and settle in and the captain of the guard will most probably come and see you in your room in the near future to explain the workings of your traing routine for the next few brightenings. So welcome to the riarian Guard and I hope you enjoy your training.

ooc - your room thread will be set up shortly so wait and I will get things orgainsed, with the captains visit etc.

Zakharias grabbed the room key and shoved it in his pocket. He was eager to leve to his room and get the visit from the captain. He wanted to start his military life as soon as possible.

"Thank you and Serale. I promise you that i will not disappoint the Riparian Guard"

he nodded and turned around, heading for his room.
