Bormis - First guard assignment

The market was a large area for a dwarf to patrol. The gate guard had not told the dwarf of this as he wanted to see how the dwarf would react, it was not so much of a problem. The MArket was progressing as it had brightening after brightening. But this one was different Bormis had been assigned to look for a thief or two.

As he progressed through the market, Bormis kept his eye out for anything suspicious, It was as he progressed past a stall selling garden tools and equipment that a strange sight was to be seen. one fellow was standing still against another stalls post. he was far to intent on the stall of a tradesman selling knives, and small pieces of Armour.

Bormiss stood there suspiciously wondering what the strange man was doing there. He could tell the man was doing something, but he just couldn't tell exactly what. This was the first assignment that Bormiss had to do and he didn't want to screw things up. He was depended on the friendly guard to keep things in tacked. Bormiss stepped forward to the man, but very careful keeping both his hands on each hatchet, but not showing any sign of aggression. As he got close he stopped and in a serious way of speech.

" Serale sir, im Bormiss. May I ask exactly what you are doing."

Bormiss is ready for any attack, but being a dwarf Bormiss will have a tough time catching the man if he runs. The little legs of a dwarf are so much slower then a pure human.

The man stood, looked down at the dwarf and then looked over towards the stall again. There was a certain air of disdain n his voice as he answered Bomiss.

You may ask Dwarf, but I see that this is not your problem, so I would ask you to move on, If you want to keep that beard of yours that is.

Bormiss seemed to be a bit angry at the man. He was being treated so nice to everyone, then on his first assigment all of it went down. In a tone no one thought little Bormiss could make, he replies to the man.

" No one makes fun of my beard! Im a guard of Riparia and I will ask you one more time my friend. What business do you have here? If you do not tell me then, im sorry that I will have to arrest you this very moment."

Bormiss backed away making sure the man didn't make any quick moves, still his hands near his hatchets. If the man attacks Bormiss will be ready.

The man now looked at the dwarf with new eyes. A member of the guard, he certainly didn't expect that. He again fixed his eyes on the Dwarf and smiled at him.

Forgive me sir, I did not realise what position you held in this city, but if you are a member of the guard then I am of pleasure to be of service to you. I believe we could help each other out here. My name is Brownie. This is a sort of a nickname that I have. I get information for you guys in the Guard and then you give me a little something for helping. But as you are new I doubt the others have not told you about me. This is understandable but then again, it would have been nice to gain some recognition for all I have given them. So is there anything that I can help you with this brightening master dwarf.

Bormiss looked into the man with confusing. He thought to himself this should make no difference weather he was a guard or not, the man was still rude to him and he wasn't going to let it go. Still a litte away from the man Bormiss replies:

" Sir, you have not answer my question. What are you doing here. My fellow members of the guards would have told me about you. So Im going to ask you one more time. What exactly are you doing here."

He was getting mad at this point and he was determine to get the words out of the man.

ic - The man looked down on the dwarf. There was a self assured way in the manner in which he just looked at Bormiss. Why was he acting so aloof. If he was a part of the guards informants then he would surely respect on that had come in the name of the guard, in this area. There was something not quite right, and this man certainly wasn't going to give the time of day to Bormiss, at least not just yet, unless he could be persuaded.

Look, I'm..... busy, so run along and leave me to my business will you. I mean I'm not doing any harm here.

Perhaps I'm checking something for you guards that's very important, and if I was to blab it to a little guy like you, acting all important, then all the world could hear it, and the truth in the matter would be, you would have stopped some special plot or intelligence operation. So be away with you, and I'll get the information to my employer soon enough and then you will need to come find me to apologize.

OOC: Man you are killing me here, I can just kill the dude. Im a guard hehehe. O well Ill keep going on and get it out

IC: Bormiss's eyes lit up, almost his eyes on fire. He was not believing any of these man's word. The man was still disrepecting the dwarvan race as well a Riparian guard. At the time Bormiss wanted to just slash the man with his battle axe and off with him, but that could cause problems, and Bormiss would not be a respectful guard. Making any actions now would not prove anything. He was thinking ways of asking the man questions to prove he knew the guards. The man looked suspicious and yet he still does.

Haha, my human friend. You not only disrespected me, but the rest of the dwarven race. We may be small, but surely you are no match for a strong little dwarf like me. I like to ask you one quick question though. Who is the Captain of the recruiting center? You would know this if you were friends of the guards. And if you have no answer, you must answer, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?

Bormiss started to get really angry, he was not in the mood for this man's lie. Again Bormiss was keeping an eye on any quick moves.

The man now had a problem. What was it with this persistant little dwarf. the other guards just sort of gave up after a number of attempts to try to get the information out of him, but this one was a pain in the proverbial posterior. It was as if he wanted to get the man to either give the information or, start something bigger, and maybe a little more fun.

The man weighed up his options, to run, because the dwarf couldn't keep up with him, or perhaps to bluff his way through the answer, or to draw out his dagger that he had located close by his side, and try to attack the pest of a guard.

ooc - you want some fun

ic - Suddenly, and with a practised motion that maybe would make the guard lose his concentration, and then lose the advantage that he had, at the moment, the man drew his dagger, moved in towards Bormiss and made a very good slash attack, towards the dwarf's right shoulder, and moving across.

Bormiss was ready for the attack, but it was surely quick. Bormiss will try to lean the oposite side of the attack if so, he will quickly bring out his two hatchets that he was ready to use and slice them into the side of the man, if all goes well. If the attack is sucessful he will leave the hatchets into him and bring out his battle axe, but most likely with two hatchets in him he will be in pain and most likely die of loss of blood.

ooc - not so fast my new recruit, you may be built like a muscular dwarf person, but the man you are facing could be better, and faster

ic - Bormiss was expecting the worst and it happened. The Man he had been questioning came at him with a dagger. Bormiss was able to doge the attack and try to bring one of his own, with both of the hatchets that he was carrying on his person. Little did Bormiss know that he man that he was attacking was well training in the art of unarmed combat, as well as the basics of the dagger, and as Bormiss brought his attack to bare, so the man dodged Bormiss attack, moving with a catlike grace, suddenly dropped low and brought a low kick towards the midrift of Bormiss.
