Alexander Nighthawk

ArchElementalist Alexander Nighthawk was Imperial Marshal and Acting Regent of the Aelyrian Empire, during the inability of James de Rothchild to perform his duties because of a strange malady. He was later confirmed as Imperial Regent prior to the death of James de Rothchild.

He was a General of the Enamorian forces under the Governorship of Ambrose Devere, at the time of the establishment of the Republic of Enamoria. He was appointed Imperial Marshal by Imperial Regent James de Rothchild and received messengers from Vortex after it had been ordered besieged by the Imperial Legions. He directed the imposition of Martial Law on the hapless city, appointing Aramil Thamion as Governor of Arium and Omeray Al'Arion as Thane of Vortex, tasking them to rebuild the city with aid from the Imperial coffers. He surprised officials of the Imperial Government by appointing a young unknown by the name of Daranih Kathal, who had been within Vortex and had survived its siege, as Thane of Paxia.

He survived the Aetherfracture by escaping from Insula Coronae aboard the Tritalisman-enabled AFS Khatakera along with Senator Mekare Taryn, Archmage Tanys, and Imperial Regent James de Rothchild. On his arrival from Aelyria Prime after meeting with the Prelatine Council in Diana, he announced a policy of permitting usage of the Stone of Unbinding to restore arcanic powers only to those provinces that had stood in good faith with the Imperial Government and had paid all their back taxes.

A subsequent riot by mages caused the storming of the Imperial Citadel. Led by a Versian elementalist named Julos, they bound Alexander Nighthawk and took him into their custody, indirectly causing the shattering of the Stone of Unbinding.

As his last official act as Regent, he called upon all claimants to the Aethercrown to present themselves at the Imperial Palace, nominating Audrey de Lylles as a surprise candidate. He was incarcerated in Fortress Anna and tried in the famous case of Empire v. Nighthawk.
