Ranger Guild
Is there a Ranger Guild? (I don't think so... but...)
Has anyone ever tried to make a Ranger Guild?

There's several. I know Natura has one for example and Narim had one until the Orcs barged in. There's other cities too, but I don't remember which ones

Yes they have Ranger Halls but they aren't considered a guild... right?

There are several Ranger Halls throughout the empire that stay in contact. It's not really a "guild" per se, just sort of a collective working for mutual benefit. Junior Rangers often travel to other Halls as part of their training.
It's all here.

Thanks Iras. That's a good article.
Wouldn't it be cool though to have a guild that people could actually join to unite the Aelyrian Rangers?
I think it would be awesome!

They are united, but they are Rangers and so they're happy with being independent entities. Besides, each hall is the best equipped with patrolling their own respective wilderness, which is their purpose to begin with. There simply doesn't need to be anything more than that. They are wise people after all; even if there was some sort of crisis, they would recognize the need to unite and they'd get it done.
That's what I think, anyway. If I'm wrong someone please correct me, this is the group my PC plans on joining

Well you could also try to bring them all together in one area and make a guild ic wise

But why? There's no good reason to do that. They are Rangers, they need lots of open space and to be spread out like they already are, not have one location to congregate so tightly. It would just be a lot less effective I think. Besides, I'm sure Rangers would collaborate with other guilds and even armies when the time arises. I know I want my PC to be a Ranger and yet work with the Sacred Circle at some point, for some adventure But as for making them into their own single guild in one location, they're simply too independent and adaptive for that.
Geez I'm really railing on this aren't I? I'll back off.

New Coldmoon has the wildermen, as a sort of ranger hall, though it was never officially recognized and doesn't have any rangers as such (druidism and a weapon makes a true ranger in this game, in name). Other cities have ranger halls. While I understand the idea of a guild, like other people have said, it doesn't seem very ranger-like
But don't worry, the rangers will always cooperate regardless and gladly welcome any ranger within their halls After all, they do like to travel.

Sorry if this isn't the right place for this question (me being so new that this is literally my first post), but is there a particular Ranger Hall that would be better in terms of moderation than others? In other words, would I have an easier time being moderated at any particular Hall?

From those listed here the ones with a GM are: Zerdargia, Natura, Acumin, Frigid River & Medonia. Not sure which one of those is the fastest poster, but otherwise they should all be equally fine mods

I see you chose to go for Natura in your ranger hall decision, Anarion. Did that have anything to do with me? j/k
Well it's a nice choice, you'll learn druidism for free, but your PC will have to really love elves and nature and elfy nature-y stuff and never get tired of the color green.
Anyway we're glad to have you there. To answer the mod question, since you're here, most likely the AGM, fetch, will be the one modding you, but I can't say whether or not Natura will be a "better" experience for you in terms of the moderator-- it's all up to what you like in a moderator. So I hope you looked around and found Natura to be the best choice (it was for me). Not to put down the other halls, though.

Thanks for the welcome, Iras. Admittedly, I knew I'd like to be a ranger and I noticed that you had just (re)started playing, so I thought I would see how you introduced yourself.
I read up on the other ranger halls and the locations they were in, and Natura seemed to be the most appealing. Thanks for the mod information. I'll probably need an inordinate amount of help starting out, since this is my first PbP.
